Having lived in SF for over 30 years, this is the first time I’ve heard of Coby’s life story. I’m thankful to have found this video and would love to see the actual documentary.
And now forever in the Universe thanks to the Internet. somewhere someone will download this video to a server and there it will sit for 200 years, until someone finds an old reader and reveals the files. Coby will dance again.
The late great Coby Yee. She participated in a Zoom conference one month before she passed. I had the honor of meeting Coby through my Dad. She was charming. Coby was up to date and active to the last. I think this is a great, comprehensive documentary on her. It would nice to have English subs on this.
This video reminded me of the China Dolls by Lisa See. It was a good historical fiction about three young Asian American women who were performers at the Forbidden City nightclub.
This is utterly wonderful. ❤️
RIP Coby, you will be missed.
Coby

This was absolutely beautiful 🥰
