Excellent info for me about how to use buses. Studio One is my go-to-DAW.

Your link to your site doesn't work, just FYI. Thanks for the explanation. Glad I've been doing it right (I'm using a good SO template I found to mix)!

If I've routed a channel to a bus, and I want to unroute and reroute to a different bus, how can I do that?

I'm trying to record a loop, as it plays , to a different track . So I don't have to duplicate it and patch it together.

If you only have the basic package, you cannot access busses correct? Why don't they tell you that before you go wasting all this time. Love the DAW, but a little more transparency would be great. Just say. " If you want to really record and have options, buy the entire package!" Unless I'm missing something, I can't get anything that allows me to access busses with basic package. I will upgrade if I know I will have that feature as well as ability to add effects to already recorded tracks.

"Bus." What do you suppose the etymology is? Why is a bus called a "bus"? Do you know of an almighty source that explains why things in the music-production world are named what they are? As you would agree, knowing the etymology of terms is crucial to truly understanding them and therefore being more likely to remember what the heck they mean/do/how they work. Thanks : )
