Your Rammstein reactions are one of the best, and that you properly analyze them, not just listening to the song and finally saying, "The song was really awesome, even though I didn't understand anything he sang.", as some do.

I couldn't agree more. You are one of the few people on RUclips who see trough the flames and crunchy guitars and see the poetic nature of Rammstein.
And you actually have enough intelligence and insight to be able to interpret the lyrics deeply and come up with very interesting conclusions, instead of the typical "Wow amazing, great live show, incredible fireworks, singer so scary, keyboardist on a treadmill haha".
I have watched hundreds of reaction videos by tens of different youtubers, but you and @VinAndSori are the only ones I have found to be able to dive deep enough to truly explore the brilliance of some of the greatest lyricists of our time.
Keep it up! You really stand out from other "meathead" bodybuilders out there!

Till never gives a clear definition of what he exactly means, the listenor has to find out the meaning himself. As you see his lyrics are full of at least double meanings making them really good poetry- one thing for what Rammstein is famous for !
Thats basicly metal you use metaphors if a subject is quite controversial
Might be that both is meant: longing for a woman and longing for foreign countries. The people of the GDR where not allowed to travel outside their country, and Mexico was a destination they could never reach. A hint is the oriental melody in the beginning.
One of my favorite songs and of many others. They bring it again in their current live show.
In Germany, there is a childish rhyme that goes "Finger im Po, Mexiko" ("finger up the butt, Mexico") that for some reason has at some point in time made the rounds and practically everyone knows. It doesn't mean anything but generations of people have heard it in life or at school and thought it was funny as a child. My guess has always been that Lindemann might have had it in mind when writing the lyric about Mexico...
"Chainsaw! Chainsaw!" That's what Americans understood and sang along to on the first US tour.

I've asked for this song a couple of times in other Rammstein reactions - it is one of my favourites. Fingers crossed.
he looks for practically all the memories of his past and can't find them anymore. in the end he even loses his longing. He then looks for his longing in Mexico (probably alcohol, prostitutes and drugs), but he doesn't get there. the song is very profound. the sand between a woman's legs practically describes a memory (like lying on the beach with a girlfriend and her legs were full of sand).

Till's texts often contain metaphors and ciphers that everyone can interpret for themselves. (which can be tricky) it may be wanderlust but it's probably more about sex.....but because I really like the drums and riffs of Rammstein and Till's voice it's secondary to me.....
