Wow! Thanks for posting this most amazing version of EVITA. Ms. Murney's interpretation really conveys Eva Peron's burning ambition. Please post more of this production if possible.
Julia is amazing. Her New Argentina is phenomenal. Great elphie and from what others have said a great person and mentor. Jealous we can't see her everywhere.
Thank you sooo much. I enjoyed Julia as a character actor for Elphaba but found she used a bit too much vibrato in her voice when it shouldn't be there. But this, it's perfect. And I know she seems so high energy a lot of the time. But she got really sick towards the end of Wicked. A lot of the main's do. It's very demanding. But god she is amazing. So is her cover of Suddenly Seymore.
Evita is such a bizarelly written show, singing wise. Just about every actress I've heard do it sounds quite different than she usually does, included. What type of voice is it suited for, cause most Broadway actresses seem to struggle with it.
I realize this is a very old comment, but this is the original version of the Che monologue - the bits about the descamisados and the military were only added to the revival and were not part of the licensed version of the show at the time of this production.
That end note my God!! So incredible.

Awesome. I would love to see more of this production.

This role fits her range like perfect match. No screeching, just a singer telling a story through song.
Such a powerhouse

Brooke Shapiro - because of Wicked I thought was terrible. But because of this, my opinion is changing!

This production ran at the Sacramento Music Circus from Aug, 12-17, 2008.
So, this version pulls out the commentary on the military and pushes the Eva-vs-Aristocracy bit?
Huh?

Hate the wig! But other wise she's great!
