The look of confusion and fear on his face, from when the vocals kick in, to the end of the video. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Saw Morbid Angel live on this tour in late ‘91. Entombed and Unleashed were the two opening acts. Absolutely classic times!🤘
Probably my favorite morbid track from my favorite morbid album. That opening riff just oOzEs..
one of my favourite song of death metal
Death metal is not for everybody... it took me a while to get hooked to that style of extreme metal, which relied on brutal force rather than grooves... gutteral death vocals instead of melody... and pummeling guitars. The vocals of David Vincent (vocals & bass) of Morbid Angel were one of the early trademarks of death metal in the early 90's, combined w/ the guitars of Trey Azagthoth and the hyper-drumming of Pete Sandoval. Richard Brunelle (guitar) was on 2nd guitar on the first 2 Morbid Angel albums... he was fired in 1992 and tragically, he passed away in 2019 @ age 55.
Morbid Angel, Death (the band), Amon (which became Deicide) and Obituary were some of Florida's finest thrash metal bands in the 80's... but their style evolved into something more brutal than even Slayer or Exodus... Chuck Schuldiner (guitar & vocals) of Death was a pioneer of those gutteral vocals... and then Sepultura took those cues from Possessed, Death, and Celtic Frost as well.
In 1989, Morbid Angel was signed by Napalm Death's label Earache Records in England and the band debuted w/ a stellar album 'Altars of madness'... which perfectly captured a sonic "descent into madness" (as u put it perfectly!)
This second album 'Blessed are the sick' cut down the speed and focused on the heaviness and technicality of death metal in its early evolution at the hands of Morbid Angel, Deicide, Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, Obituary, etc...
In 1993, Morbid Angel's 3rd album 'Covenant' was released on a major label Giant, and it sold 100K copies... the 4th album 'Domination' (1995) actually had keyboards on it. Then, David Vincent quit the band in 1996.
Morbid Angel relaunched in 1998 w/ new vocalist/ bassist Steve Tucker, releasing 'Formulas fatal to the flesh'... and then 'Gateways to annihilation' in 2000... In 2001, Tucker bailed... Jared Anderson (bass & vocals) of Hate Eternal did the 2001 - '02 Morbid Angel tour - Sadly, he passed away in 2006. Steve Tucker returned for the 'Heretic' album in 2003, but bailed again in 2004.
David Vincent reunited w/ Morbid Angel in 2004, but they were not able to produce that same level of excellence, despite touring actively for years... Founding drummer Pete Sandoval was out of the band in 2010 after he required back surgery.
David Vincent and guitarist Trey Azagthoth had a falling out after 2014 and Vincent was out of Morbid Angel.
Azagthoth and Steve Tucker reunited for the album 'Kingdoms disdained' in 2017.
Morbid Angel tracks need to be listened to w/ caution... I recommend: 'Chapel of ghouls'... 'Where the slime live'... 'God of emptiness'... 'Enshrined by grace'
I agree with everything you just said however there is plenty of groove in Treys rhythm playing on the slower stuff
My favorite album still after all these years
Nice, I play this. a lot in the car, at ear splitting volume and people think I'm nuts!! Loving Sepultura's "territory" what with the war and all.
You should add "Panzerchrist - Y2 Krieg" to that playlist, at least give it a try, it's a banger
Get some ' armageddon death squad ' by impaled nazerene on
That'll brighten up you're drive
Awesome! Brings me back to -91
Half of this album has the lower vocals, and the other half is the vocalist doing his usual mid-high Pitched Vocals
MORBID ANGEL "Dominate" I'll say no more!!! Please do OBITUARY "Slowly we Rot" album and THE BEST DEATH METAL ALBUM ON THE PLANET "Cause of Death"🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I would put the entire death discography on there as well and children of bodoms hatebreed
@@Silent_man134 yeah I'd go with DEATH deffinetly👍
Its because it feels foreign to you're ears ' keep listening then it'll all click at once and you'll get it
Yeah, definitely metal, lol.
great request!
Listen to god of emptiness ' you'll like that
You seem nice dude
Its the high time to get you into the band death who have big influences of death metal
Yeah, Homie, I'm with you... Death Metal is hard to digest, even when I used to listen to that kind of music long time ago, but not anymore. It's not just because of those guttural voices, but it's all about what the music brings you, and this one does not so good in me either. I do prefer music that can give me calm and good vibes.
You have to consider how long ago it was recorded
It took me a while to get used to growling vocals in metal but as I grew older I ended up disliking them again. The music is decent but overall, not a fan of this.
Not a good song to start with byvthese guys try the album formulas fatal to the flesh
