I’m not an Indian but a proud Bangladeshi and you’re absolutely right. The main reason why I believe that Pakistan and Bangladesh’s Coke studio are far better than India’s one is because there is a band music culture in both countries which India don’t have and another reason is both musicians or artists in Bangladesh & Pakistan takes music passionately, this can be seen in their music because they have their own bands where they practices every aspect of the music they are playing which also influenced by Western music and their own traditional influences. And the bands from these countries are also extremely curious to hear or learn anything that benefits their musical composition. On the other hand, most of the musicians in India have one goal only and that is to sing in Bollywood music.

I used to listen to this song 7 years ago in college van in the morning, it was underrated back then. I have a unique connection to this masterpiece. I'm so happy that it's getting the recognition it deserves.

Awesome choice. Both are accomplished singers. Both are self taught. While Jaffer from Kaavish was exposed to top quality singing as his mother was the late Nayyara Noor who was a highly acclaimed singer in Pakistan.

I was one of several people who had suggested this song and I am grateful that yourself reacted to it and what a sensational reaction it was . It was brilliant. I loved it to the core. Mr. Jaffar Zaidi is the lead singer of Kaavish. He is son of the (late) Nayyara Noor, one of all time legendary female singers of Pakistan. She passed away a few years back. Yourself must check her out at your own as per your convenience. You will love her work. Kaavish is featured in the fifth song released from Coke studio season 15 "O Yaara". The singer(Jaffer Zaidi, Kaavish is a band of 2ppl) himself is the music composer, as well as he has mixed as well,in this season; most of the songs were arranged by him. Jaffer zaidi is a son of legendary singer Ms Nayyara Noor. He has never used her fame or anything, you should react to his songs like Moray Saiyyan, Piya dekho na and the whole Gunkali Album. Recently they dropped a song after like a decade (I'm talking of their solo not coke Studio).

Singer's name is not Kaavish, it's Jaffer Zaidi. He wrote this song, composed, directed it and obviously sang as well. He's late Nayyara Noor's son. He played piano in almost 8-10 seasons of Coke Studio. If you watch BTS, you will realize the level of maturity this musician has. And he's not trying to learn, he's seeing if she will be able to do what he told her to do or not. QB is extremely blessed to be even standing next to him :D I understand the type of music you like, if you even get time, search GUNKALI ALBUM and listen to any song, I bet you will listen to every single song. My suggestions would be DIL MEIN MERE, DEKHO, PIYO DEKHO NA, TERE PYAAR MEIN, BUCHPAN etc

I smiled when you closed your eyes. This is the type of song you need to wash over you....with eyes closed, the voices, the melody, the music. A classic for a reason.
PS.....I do agree with the nostalgia for the old style Coke Studio. But things evolve, I feel that the newer seasons have been masterpieces as well, but in a different way. The music is still topnotch. Each song is rich with meaning and a message. There's also a much younger generation that needs to be engaged as well. I'm happy they're being exposed to something other than vulgarity and meaningless lyrics. Plus each song is a visual treat that is showcasing Pakistani culture to the world. Jaffer's and now Sajjad Ali's new song for Coke Studio have brought them a renewed popularity and introduced them to a whole new audience who will now search for all their older songs.

It's sweet that you haven't realised Jaffer Zaidi is the vocalist of this song. He is one-half of the duo known as Kaavish. The other counterpart is his childhood friend Ma'az Maudood (the guitarist).

If you compare the both Coke Studio Pakistan, it’s all about trend. Now it’s a trend of reels, videos and visuals. Now it’s interesting that not only musicians, singers or composers can react or analyse the Coke Studio Pak production but photographers, cinematographers, directors, digital mixers, fashion designers, set designers, choreographers and many more can discuss and react. This is the power of videos and visuals. 🙂

Being a hardcore Coke Studio fan, I come to old seasons to reduce my frustration with new seasons. They have everything to do other than the music. This kind of music is missing in new coke studio seasons.
I feel the same too. I miss old coke studio. The last two seasons focused more on modernism and popularity rather than traditional elements. I wish xulfi brings back the old coke studio or it could be both. He has produced all seasons of Nescafé basement which primarily focused on rock/metal since he started his career in a rock band. But he also made rock/traditional fusions. I hope he brings that back

Exactly, the same thing I noticed in new season of CS, they mostly focused the scenic view instead of the music/ singers etc., they introduced new singers in every song but it doesn't give the old CS vibes. We just over praising CS now.

I totally agree with you about songs in the old CS. Music should have the primary focus and priority, but it's about commercialism and capturing the Gen Z audience on streaming platforms. Although the new CS is very good creatively and visually, but people like you and me are def gonna miss old CS vibe.

You said you miss this season in this season because now coke studio producers are changed. Season 10 produced by strings one of best and most famous band of Pakistan, also in India. Government of India also invite them to president house to perform front of late president Pranab Mukherjee. And the guy who played drum Aahad Nayani he is best in his own way. Now working with Asim Azhar. As for kaavish I don't know why he so underrated, he only has few song but all are those that you start the live in that words he singing. Strings bring golden era of music.

Jaafar Zaidi is the singer himself, Kaavish is his band name. I just learnt in the medical journey of his new song that he is son of a legendary singer Nayyara Noor, she was amazing singer. And in the medical journey he said that he didn't learn music from her, which is shocking (or maybe i heard it wrong).
