Just saw this theatrically in California yesterday and really enjoyed it! The comic trivia you mentioned, in the USA I think were under the title "Oriental Heroes" though Jademan Comics did not have American distribution for very long, because their CEO Tony Wong was arrested under charges of tax evasion. Still, by the time Oriental Heroes, Iron Marshall, etc. were published in the USA they were decades later then the original publications, with elaborate air brushed artwork and lots of references to esoteric martial arts techniques.
@@beacherry In my country of course 😂. Cửu Long Thành Trại: Vây Thành - its name in Vietnamese. The rating is very high in Vietnam, some people said that Hong Kong maybe not able to make another movie like this in the future so they watch again and again 😂
Just watched Twilight Warrior. Love Hong Kong movies. Always reminds me about real life. Alot of fighting. Hope actors are okay 😅 Price HKD33 HKD18 (Age 50 & above)
in New York, Chinatown was the best place to get Hong Kong DVD's . I used to make sure that the region code was applicable to the country you reside in. If they still enforce those codes, Region 1 or "all" meant it could play in a US player. Region numbers 2 or 3 were meant for other territories and won't play on standard players in the States. Google "DVD Region codes" to see if it still applies. However, you can "trick" out some players to play DVD's from any region. If this film doesn't have legal US distribution rights yet, it will probably be a Region 3 copy. Good luck

Playable DVD's in standard players in the States are either Region code "1" or "All". A lot of the DVD's in Chinatown shops are usually Region 3 . If your player can support all codes then you're good. If not, then Google "DVD Region codes ". There are ways to "adjust" your player to accommodate all DVD's. Good luck.
If in 2000 louis koo will play raymond lam character..andy lau will play louisa koo character....while chow yun fat will play sammo hung character....and it is based on the hk comic book city of darkness....not batman
Yeah, you are right about Chow Tun Fat playing Sammy Hung’s character! What I mean is that one must watch it like they would with Batman. It’s impossible to fall from a bus and not hurt

“a little bit too bloody for me”
Simple story , but a good movie.
Agree!
Is it safe to take my parents to watch it? Or is it too violent?
Louis Koo's character was actually inspired by Leslie Cheung. The comic book source material even resembles Leslie.
I did not know that! Thanks for sharing! Where can I learn more info like that?
Great review. Watching this on Friday (when it is released here in the UK). Looking forward to it
Let me know what you think!
@@beacherry a review will be up!
Subscribed to you! Looking forward to hearing yours!
Great review Cherry!
The original story in the novel and comic book is really good, just can't fit in the movie version, so the story has been simplified too much...😢
I have heard that they are making a series out of it, hopefully they can stay original!
古天樂:Louis* Koo
(Louise is a female name…)
Chi / 氣: train up and control of energy inside your body
Where can I buy the DVD?
It's showing in theatre, I wonder if you can find it in cities that have a population of Hong Kong people
