I apologize for not seeing your comment sooner and responding, but I so appreciate your thoughtfulness and support! Your feedback means the world to me 🥰❤️!!
Just wanted to stop by and thank you for such amazing PNB content! I’m a beginner and I have found your videos so informative with tips and tricks. It’s given me so much confidence. Thank you! Sydney, Australia
I do not know how I overlooked your comment and never responded…but I wanted to say how much I appreciated your support! I know it is extremely late and saying this, but thank you so much for this wonderful feedback! 🥰❤️
I’m getting ready to paint my first PBN and was going to start with the sky. I’m so happy I watched this video, you make it look so easy I can’t wait to start. I did purchase your PBN Swatch Guide, and I’m glad I did! Just finished with my swatches and can’t wait to start. Thank you for taking the time to teach us newbies
You are welcome! Thank you for watching. I love being able to share ideas and new things, so I’m happy you found my channel. 🥰 (I hope you subscribed...I have a lot of great videos coming! 😊)
New subscriber here! Your videos are all helpful and very informative. Thank you so much! I am zero knowledge in drawing and painting. I am from Philippines 🥰🥰🥰
I am so sorry for not seeing your comment and responding sooner. Welcome to my channel all the way from the US to the Philippines! I’m so happy that you found me and my videos. Thank you so much for your support and your feedback. It means the world to me, and I appreciate you! 🥰❤️
Excellent! I love to get that kind of feedback. 🥰 I also have 3 other videos on blending if you need them. Blending can be a pain, so I’ve tried the simplest techniques I can think of to make it easier on myself & my audience. 😊
The rolls of blue shop towels are excellent to pull more water out of those fluffier brushes. They absorb and pull much more water out than regular paper towels. I use them a lot when I really need to dry out a brush when I watercolor.
My preference would be not to blend quite as much of the blue into the white. Here in Texas it's very common to see big, fluffy, white cotton ball clouds, with a very blue background, and a notable delineation between the cloud in the sky. However, what you have shown is very helpful as far as learning to blend well.
Yes, you can definitely blend {or not blend 😂} to your liking. Sometimes when a project dries, I find myself going back to add details, because I can’t tell until it dries how much I’ve actually blended during the process. 🥴
I apologize for not responding sooner, but you are absolutely right! When I first started, I was able to find 95% of what I needed in my house. The only reason I use extra items now, is that I find that they are portable and designed more for taking care of my supplies like brushes, and so on. You can definitely get started with whatever you have on hand, and that is what I love!
Do you color with colored pencils. I found a plastic paddle stir (over where the kitchen tools are at dollar tree. The smallest one.). It blends the colored pencils great. Just a little hint. Love your videos.
I LOVE colored pencils. I have tons of sets and just bought myself the largest Prismacolor one for my birthday in May. I’ve only had a few hours to play with it though. 😏
Have you a video where you blend paint by numbers, uhm.. where you have done it with flow technique? I have seen lot of you videos and i am a very big fan 😂❤️🙏🏻 sorry for my English. I am not good at it. Hugs from Iben in Denmark
I haven’t recorded a video for blending with the Flow Technique yet, but I have been having a lot of requests for it recently. That video is on my list of upcoming projects, so I hope to have one for you very soon!
Hi Melanie, do flower petals need to be blended as well please? Enjoy your videos so much and I am waiting for my first order if PBN to arrive. And thanks.
The only flower petals I blend are the large ones like in my first blending video. Smaller petals look great from a few feet back, so they usually don’t need it. ruclips.net/video/pghP9CjFqDs/видео.html ruclips.net/video/bB511eU0SFM/видео.html
I feel horrible for not seeing your comment sooner and responding! Thank you so much for your feedback and your support. I always try to read and respond to comments from viewers, because you watching my videos is extremely important to me! 🥰❤️
Thank you for sharing this. I'm a newbie and learned much from your videos. I have 2 questions. 1. Would I use this technique for water (do you have any examples of water?)? 2. I can't find the link to your brushes. You recommend make up brushes. Do you have specific recommendations? Thanks.
You could definitely use this technique for ocean waves and water. I put links the description box below the video for those makeup brushes I used. ☺️ Here is where you can find that information: ruclips.net/video/8CP3kkv3F4w/видео.html
Thank you so much for your quick response. I've checked the area you say I can find the link, but I just can't find that little arrow! I use a Mac so I don't know if it matters, but I've looked everywhere for it, and I just can't find it!
@@carolcarlson489 I use a Mac too, and on the computer it will be under the name of my channel and you’ll see some of the description...then it says “Show More”. Consistency among the different devices would be lovely, don’t you think? Lol!
I have literally hundreds of makeup brushes, most of them are quite expensive but I have a few cheapO sets, the gods of PBNS require a brush sacrifice 🤣🤣🤣 I have to blend skin and a background in my current WIP, this video came in a perfect time. Is that first brush a flat or fluffy blending brush? Do you think is best to do a first pass of blending, let it dry and then a second pass?
Ok, so yes, on sacrificing a makeup brush or two to the PBN gods...🤣🤣🤣. Actually, my makeup brushes are soooo nice and expensive, that I bought separate sets for this purpose. The first brush I used was an angle fluffy brush, and the other one is a more rounded fluffy brush.
Oh, and I forgot to say it would be best to blend an area, let it dry, and come back to it. It’s way easier to see what needs to be done once it’s dried after one layer.
I have all of the tools in the description below the video. Here is where you can find that information: ruclips.net/video/8CP3kkv3F4w/видео.html And the metal scoop: Tamiya Metal Stirrer: amzn.to/3pWQZJ9 or amzn.to/33rHd8z
I have such a problem with blending. I always end up with another line just a little further away. Zigzag is worse. Will makeup brushes help me? I keep practicing and swearing a lot.
I swear a lot too, but luckily I’m able to edit that out of my videos 🤣🤣🤣. Nah, now I just tell myself “It’s just paint”, and if I screw something up, I can go over it. I have seriously relaxed sooo much more by doing that! Have you seen my one-stroke method? I revert back to that technique every time I blend. It seems to work amazingly well for every situation.
You can do it however you’d like to on your own painting. I demonstrate on my painting the way I want mine to look, and it is up to the viewer to take the instructions and use their own technique to create their own outcome. Everyone has their own interpretation and opinion of what looks good to them…that is where the saying originated: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” ☺️
Great idea make up brushes!! I am going to try those on my blending
You are inspirational! Thank you, thank you ❤️

😮ohhh how I wish I knew this with my 1st PBN! You do for PBN what Bob Ross did for blank canvass!
🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️ Bob Ross!! What a man!! Now if I just had his “chill” disposition, I’d be the perfect instructor…🧘🏻♀️. 😂
Best video EVER. Thank you!
YAY!! I’m finally recording and uploading videos for you...NOT sales related 😂😂😂.
This is a game changer! Absolutely! I tried it and live but feel I need more practice blending. Thanks, Melanie!
I practice every time before I blend. It’s one of those things that we don’t have to do often, so we need a refresher each time.
This video is awesome. Blending makes PBN's look so much better. Please keep producing videos like this one!

Are you going to blend the water also

you jibber on too much
There is an easy solution to that. Just don’t watch. 😉
