    Why don’t I see predictive control on mine? It is an edition 1 saloon

    Thanks for the video.
    Do all your Audi's show music playing from Apple Carplay in the virtual dash? I noticed in one clip around 3:52 that you have it mid screen. I thought carplay info was only ever on the MMI centre console?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  8 месяцев назад

      The newest MMI systems will display the track info but that’s all. You can’t see anything else. However, depending on the manufacturer and system some infotainment systems will also show the navigation details on the driver display. Eventually, this will become Android Automotive running on the Audi system from the forthcoming Q6.

      @@TechInTheCar thank you for replying.
      Yes, I understand that it would only be the track information. Do we need to require a firmware update, from which version is this supported, or approx which age of Audi. I am looking at used A5s 2020-onwards.
      Interesting what you say about Audi going the Android automotive route. Given their premium pricing you would think most customers operate iOS.
      Which cars support Carplay (or Android Auto) information in the dash. I thought that there was no information in the dash and now you suggest some cars allow carplay or AA to display navigation information there, rivalling their own solutions - interesting!

    Why is there a cut at 3:41 ? Is the first virtual cockpit different than the second one?? The first one looks so much nicer. And the first one doesn't have the temp gauges and fuel levels on the sides. What is up with that?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  3 года назад

      Great question! That is from the S3 virtual cockpit - I cut between some short footage to make it more interesting however I wasn't in an S3 filming. so I couldn't show more of that but when I get my new RS3 I will make sure to show you how that looks up close with all the different RS modes on the virtual cockpit!

      the first one is the virtual cockpit plus I believe

    Is it possible to install the Virtual Cockpit if I bought the car without them?

    • @TechInTheCar

      Officially no, but a third party Audi specialist can fit one but it will be very, very expensive.

    is the Android Auto connected wirelessly?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  2 года назад +1

      Depending on the model year it may be - in this car is was wired but in my 22 year it is wireless.

    Quick question regarding traffic signs feature @03:49 . Was that a base model Audi A3? Because I have the base model Sport 30TFSI and I don't have that feature. The function on demand to unlock traffic signs recognition and high beam assist is still not available either.

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  2 года назад +2

      Do you have the camera behind the rear-view mirror? if you do then you can activate it using OBDeleven as traffic signs are just a software feature. OBDeleven is a dongle you plug into your car; it costs around £90 UK but it is the only way to activate the feature if it is not on you car.

      @@TechInTheCar yes I do have a camera behind the mirror. I'll look into that. Thanks for your suggestion. 🙏🏽

    To use android auto you need a usb cable right? And apple carplay works wirelessly?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  3 года назад

      On the 2021 A3 right now ONLY works wired with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. I have heard that Audi will be adding both with wireless to the new build cars this year BUT I can't find any mention of it on the official spec list right now. I wouldn't rely on it being wireless right now.

      @@TechInTheCar I've got mines last February. It doesn't support Android Auto Wireless though.

      Mine was built in February 2021 and DOES have wireless Apple Car Play. I understand this is a feature on recent A3's only.

      @@Wickey007 Same, my A3 Edition 1 was delivered yesterday - Apple is wireless but my Android needs a cable. Bit of a shame and I hope they update this soon, can’t be hard surely? BMW have it wirelessly.

    My 2021 Audi A3 can do Apple CarPlay Wireless, but not Android Auto wireless.
    Is there a way to get Android Auto Wireless on the new Audi A3?

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  2 года назад

      If it isn’t available now then you may have to visit your dealer and see if they have an update. I am not totally clear on if they will have an official update. I might suggest asking them to flash the latest software for the brand new 2021 model and that MAY update your system for it but I also think you might have a problem finding a dealer to agree to do this.

    • @voqzmk2
      @voqzmk2 2 года назад +1

      @@TechInTheCar I already asked my dealer about the latest update and he told me they already updated it the day before I picked the car up.
      I will try to plug the phone in first and then maybe it'll recognise the phone without cable.

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  2 года назад

      I would maybe suggest you see if the have an RS3 in the dealer and check the software version on that car as it has wireless AA and CP. I am skeptical that the dealer has any idea what version is on your car.

    • @voqzmk2
      @voqzmk2 2 года назад +1

      @@TechInTheCar There is not a single RS3 in the 5 nearest Audi dealers.
      Only 3 S3's and they also dont have Android Auto.
      I will try to connect the Phone with USB first and then try it without the cable, someone in the forum said that fixed it
