i liked how you showed how to remove the fabric panel underneath - taking the camera around - i also liked how you showed the car could make it up the ramps - its so low to the ground - good to know there are ramps out there that work
I only wish I could get it done in 8 minutes and 28 seconds. I spend a month getting psyched up, a day fretting, an hour building up the ambition, and an hour doing it, then another month sitting on the used oil, then an hour getting it properly disposed.
I have a 2019 . It looks like the hardest part is removing that "plastic" skid plate. I always rotate my tires on every oil change. I've been doing that for years and seems to work for long tire life. Thanks for uploading
thank to you video I'm now able to change my oil, apparently I tried to use my steel ramps, but they were way to high and they were scrapping the two black plastic flaps which are located in front of each wheel. Your video was the only one that actually showed the correct ramps to use when changing the oil on a Ford Fusion being that the front of the vehicle is extremely low.....please inform not only me, but everyone thats watchinbg your video whats the name of those those ramps that your using....TIA
I don't own one so I don't know but I think the A/C is electric so turning it on might not guarantee the engine will start running. On my Prius, you can force the engine to run by just pressing on the accelerator pedal while it's in park. Might be able to do the same on a Fusion? *edit* Just noticed the comment below mine stating the pedal method will work.
The hybrid filter is in a good location and accessible, the 1.5 Ecoboost is in the front as well but up there between the radiator and the engine (no room), also is sideways!, a pin in the ass for change specially if you have big hands and very messy.
Did you filled up the filter with new oil before putting it in? I heard you could mest up your engine if you don't .. the pump would have to fill up the filter before going to the engine.
Thanks for the question. I'm changing the oil on all my engines for the last 23 years, never had a problem with that. Some cars have a oil filter placed horizontally, some even upside down, so you can't fill them with oil. I used to think the same way, and even tried to fill filter with oil, but it is not necessary.
Only necessary for turbo cars typically. I never even did it on my boosted cars. I usually just bump start it a couple times to let the oil flow into the filter and a lower pressure. The theory is starting it breaks off filter material and will eventually clog sections of the engine. I imagine with modern filters that's no longer a problem.
having the AC on will take a toll on your mpg. so will hard acceleration and high average speed bc your engine is using more fuel. drive slow and smooth to get the most out of your gas
Abdul A I have a 2017 Ford Fusion Energi which is great but has a lawnmower for a engine. 0w-20 is very liquid compared to 5w-30 so I’m assuming the viscosity is helping it crank out some more power or at least last longer.

I have an entire shelving unit in my garage filled with probably 80+ used containers of oil. Just never get around to dropping it off.

Thank you! I heard that there might be some special tool needed for an oil change on my new fusion, but now I see it's the typical procedure.
No problem! Thanks for comment! Happy to help!
in order to start the ICU engine, just press the gas pedal next time.

Thank you for your great video! What mm socket we need for that? 7mm-8mm for the shield? I have the drill adapter with me….
And the drain plug 15mm?
8mm
Sorry, 10mm
And the oil drain is 15mm
Thank you so much…. Will the driller with adapter with 15mm and 10mm socket shall be fine right?
15mm use hand tool
Very helpful video, thank you!
Thank you!
You didn't say what size socket you used.
what is the terrible sound when your ford fusion starts?. I have the same on mine
It’s just the electrical, it’s a hybrid after all
If you hold accelerator down the engine kicks on.
Will try that tomorrow ...

I've never had that issue in any cars i own. Even the mechanic doesn't fill up the filter

How do you get 41 mpg average on your Fusion? I typically average 36-38.
If I drive the car in the city it's 41-45 mpg
But my wife drives it most of the time and the average is 37-39 in the city

@@dinamiton I finally got my wife to get the same as me. 42mpg average.
I average 44 but I keep in eco mode and drive a lot of city speed driving other than interstate to work and back.
The manual says that you change the oil every 10000 miles or once a year so you didn't really need to change that oil yet
Yes 😁
Do not listen to Manual. Change early and often. Depends how you drive also.
