Hi Maureen, If you watch this video ruclips.net/video/k6MSgGAPkoI/видео.html starting at 24.24 you can see how I attach them. The trick is light taps of the solder so as to not heat the loop too much. Then quick taps to smooth the solder out. I hope this helps.

Cheryl I'm new to this and not doing very well at making jump rings. Can you make some ones for larger panels that I can buy from you. I tried those handy hooks and I can't use those too hard to get them down zinc channel!!

Great video thanks. I’m making sun catchers with large metal pendants that need an added hang ring. My question is when you don’t know what metal you are adding ring to. Can you explain if I can use the tinning method for rings on metal pendant as well? Also can I add the cooper foil tape if the other does not work? Advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Joshlyn, you can tin gold, silver, copper, brass and some irons. You cannot tin carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and cast iron. Some jewelry pendants are made with metals that can be tinned such as the charms you can buy. I use them in my pieces. I would suggest that you use a test piece. It will work or not. I hope this was helpful.

Glad you found one of my videos on attaching them to projects. I should do a separate video on just that topic. Thanks for the idea!

Hi Sharon, if you watch some of my videos on soldering, I show how I attach them. It is very easy, but can be fiddly. I put the ring under the edge of the piece where I want it attached. Make sure you flux the ring as well as the piece. Then, with a little solder, just tap a small amount on either side of the ring. If the ring fills with solder, just heat it up and start again. You will get better at this. Let me know if this helps. Thanks
