Thanks for the video. We love our Pondmax 2400. We bought the Pondmax Ultra $500 PF2400UV for our 1000 Gallon Koi & Goldfish pond around September 2022. Turned it off for a few months through winter. Just fired it back up a few weeks ago. Pond stayed green! Looked up how to get the UV Bulb apparatus out to see if the 18Watt UV-C bulb was burned out. Upon removal it was filled with rust water! Looks like one of the seals failed? Called the awesome Nursery (Tsungawa Nursery) we purchased it from here in Washington state. They are getting in contact with the Manufacturer to see if they can warranty the Ballast if it turns out to be bad. Since the entire apparatus was filled with rusty water, I assume the water went into the ballast somehow? Replacement for the ballast is around $160 plus the bulb is $45 but going up to $60 I think he said due to inflation. Hope the Nursery comes through for us! If not, we are going to just add an inline UV-C clarifier in line from the pump to the Pondmax 2400. The one we used to use on our last pond was around $100. I think it was called Green Machine by Tetra. It worked awesome. I think it was a 9 watt bulb in the Green Machine. Anyway, thanks again for the quick video. Other then our issue we love our Pondmax. It looks way better then the home made filter using plastic shelving I made on our last pond!
Yes. There is no pump included. The electric cord is to run the UV filter. You run 1 1/2” flex pipe from the pump to the pressure filter. Another section of pipe from the filter to your water fall. And snot from the filter to a backflush outlet.
You need to look inside the filter casing and make sure the blue and yellow filters are still intact. After one year of ownership, my yellow filters have disintegrated. The blue ones were satisfactory but beginning to show some wear. I wish the material was not foam but a sturdier material like my pool filters have.
We are a few days from one year of purchasing the PondMax 4800. I also have noticed sponge deterioration on 3 of our 5 sponge rings. I will call Pondmax and attempt to activate our 1 year warranty requesting sponge rings replacement. I hope they respond well.
The pump is a separate unit purchased from Lowe’s and it sits inside my skimmer basket. So their is an intake flex pipe from the pump to the filter. Then a flex pipe from the filter to the waterfall and a third flex pipe used to backflush dirty water out to the front yard.
Great video thank you and Beautiful Koi! Thanks for your video! 🫶🙌🙏

Do you need a separate pump to pump the water through the filter?

Your gold fish are doing great and the koi show us a video on the new small koi pond please

What is that stop valve attatchment called? I need to put one on mine thank you
It came with the unit. I don’t know the name. I would search in a hardware store if you to buy or make one.
Do you run your filter during the winter months?
I run the water through the filter but unplug the UV cord to save the life on the bulb.
@@thestclairchannel3889 Thank You. I also live close to Hanover Koi and just recently bought fish during their sale.
Hi,
How does the water get into the cannister? Is there a pump inside like with tropical tank filters or a seperate pump?
The pump is a separate unit purchased from Lowe’s and it sits inside my skimmer basket. So their is an intake flex pipe from the pump to the filter. Then a flex pipe from the filter to the waterfall and a third flex pipe used to backflush dirty water out to the front yard.
