This game was very underrated. I remember when I got my Sega Genesis as a kid and this was the first game I had. Level 3 and 4 are my favourite levels. And the music is great too.
I don't think I've ever heard a soundtrack so appropriate for a game. The songs are weird but catchy, and played in a minor key with a reverberating quality that makes your skin crawl. With so many bizarre sights and sounds, Bio Hazard Battle is one of the more memorable - and underrated - Genesis shooters.
Why would you use this game as an example? The music and sound effects are pretty bad and nowhere near the level of quality that other Genesis games have reached.
Incredible game! I can't believe I overlooked this gem back in the day! Probably because I was already overwhelmed with shooters in my library. It's like a mix between Wings of Wor and R-Type.
1.Boss:eyezilla 2.Boss:king titan 3.Boss......a slimy bishop I don’t know what it is 4.Boss:angler manta 5. Boss:mutant machine 6.boss :scrap spinners and final boss: what I keep my expectation high
Games like this really defined the Megadrive. The console brings to mind many fast, action-packed games, that were also often edgy or dark in some way. Even the few bouncy, happy, and colourful games aimed at youngens on that system still had some adrenalin running through it's veins. I don't know if it was the bass heavy, acidy techno-ish sounds, or maybe it's "limited" colour pallette that gave games a somewhat rougher look. Either way this console was the business, and I bet if the Grim Reaper played a console, he would play the Megadrive. Too bad the Americans had to go and rename it after a bible chapter lol. Damn numpties.
Cannot *believe* this is a complete playthrough of this old gem of a Sega Megadrive game! I remember playing this as a little girl at my grandmother's house, she had an assortment of lesser-known games and this was one of my favourites. I was too young to get the story I just knew I was the Good Alien killing all the gross Bad Aliens. On Tuesday I found a Switch game called Sega Classics, basically a hodgepodge of old Segas games now playable on the Switch and right there with my absolute favourite game (Streets of Rage 2 - Blaze is coolest character!) this cartridge actually had *Bio-Hazard Battle* and after a few minutes of playing it was like being a child at my grandmother's house again 😭😭😭 Thanks so much for this walkthrough, I'm having troubled getting past a certain point and watching this I think it may be my choice of Weapon (the Red Homing Laser is my favourite) Thanks for helping out fellow fans ⭐️=^_^=⭐️
Like this game soo much, an underrated gem, the art style here is unique and sound is excellent use of the sound capabilities of Genesis. My choice over R-Type on biomechanichs design.
Dat atmosphere tho!! Also the visuals, quite advanced for the time, with some neat digitized looking stuff. And it doesn't hurt either that the gameplay is pretty good!
The physics of this game are groooooosly underrated... this game has to be one of the best side scrolling shooters. EVER. One of my favorite games to play in genisis. Not to mention the straight SUB, WOOFER, this game offered as a sound track. Never before or since. Absolutley one of my favorite games I ever played growing up, and almost 30 years later, still! One of my favorites. I absolutley love this game , thank you 💜🤘🔥🔥🔥
Not to mention, the primordial opponents, and prehistoric relics or creatures that were used to inspire and directly influence this games entire play through. Love this fucking game.
This game is Set hundreds of years in the future onboard O.P. Odysseus, an orbiting platform circling the planet Avaron. The space station's purpose is to keep the surviving humans alive until Avaron is habitable again. hundreds describes a number between 100 and 999 so we're talking 22nd-30th century
Prob one of the best shooters or even games ever i played but being on display and never knew the name of what i played. I had a snes and always thought it was Bio Metal but thats a different game i just realised. This was amazing!
The Stage 5 music, damn...that could be in an 80's SF monster movie score, easily. Reminds me a bit of Predator, actually. Glad to see all of these underrated Genesis gems becoming borderline cult classics nowadays. This, Chakan, Insector X, Slime World, CV: Bloodlines, Contra: Hard Corps...the list goes on and on. Genesis/Mega Drive really brought the bad-ass in spades. I was never as impressed with my friends' SNES games, no matter how "technically superior" they supposedly were.
I did not know about this game, it has good graphics, a good soundtrack and its style of play similar to "prehistoric island in 1930" wooow !! I have to get it. greetings from Mexico 👋👋👋
This guy have amazing handle and reaction! I played this game on hardest level and now stop at 6th stage coz im getting mad of all this shots on me. One more time - amazing skill!
loved this back in the day i never understoof the flying mechanical ship? fighting an unleashed virus that creates and spawns hostile life, i dont get a common cold and it forms metal lol? :)
Shooters where my fav games to play when I had the Genesis. But this one in particular appears to be the most hardware demanding I've seen. Looks to have a level of detail others lack, like Forgotten Worlds and Insector X. Then, on top of that, it features a 2-Player option. Yikes!
Anyone else notice that the soundtrack actually stays the same for the stages? Seriously, listen closely. The music totally sounds different, but it’s the beats or whatever.
I love playing this game, I bought the newish genises console at Wal-Mart but it didn't have that game 😞😞😞 luckily for me it had a slot to insert the game device, so I may stole bio hazard game from my dad😇😇😇 My favorite character is the sting ray that I even drew a pic of it😊😊😊
Although it has been many years since I played this game, I do want to say that two players may had more enemies. I do remember that on the caves level, if you have player 2 hold down the shooting button, they can make it about 75% through the cave without moving at all. On the other hand, I believe that the same power up does 'stack'. making the shots bigger. I don't think there is an official hard mode, but each ship does have a unique shot for each upgrade (red does either a laser or a lava bubble, for example). Only green remains the same regardless of the ship.
Music like this is what sets The genesis apart from the pack. This is an awesome soundtrack!
This game was very underrated. I remember when I got my Sega Genesis as a kid and this was the first game I had. Level 3 and 4 are my favourite levels. And the music is great too.
+Kashif Riley The music kicks ass and just yeahh the game was cool as
+Kashif Riley the stage 3 boss looks like a dick
@ralph. Get yourself checked out.
This defentely changes my opinion on the Genisis sound quality
Zach Kershew For better or worse?
Better for sure
This game overall looks like some kind of documentary about weird mutants and aliens, and they decided to make a game about it!

This is the game I bring up when people rag on the Genesis sound chip. Too good.
+theSHELFables Let's not forget Lightening Force's soundtrack, either. That's probably my favorite on the Genesis.
And Batman and Robin
Wing of wor/Gynoug
Streets of Rage
Why would you use this game as an example? The music and sound effects are pretty bad and nowhere near the level of quality that other Genesis games have reached.

Still takes me back to good days of couch co-op arcade in the early 90's.
I was crazy about this game as a kid! The music and artwork and even the gameplay itself are truly kick-ass! Thanks for posting!!!
This game is fantastic, from the sound to the incredibly detailed sprites. Oh and the stunning gameplay.
Verdade amigo
Interesting looking game, it's like Gynoug and Super R-Type mixed togerher!
Love that music when you clear a stage, best of all time. This whole game is just the bomb!
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME DUDE!?!?! IT TOOK ME 15 YEARS TO FIND THIS GEM AGAIN! Thank you
Steve Zissou it is still the best.

'Mega Drive' was already copyrighted in the U.S.
I tend to favor Genesis. It was the start of a lot of good memories for me from an aptly named system that generated those memories.
This comment went from good to you just being an asshole.
A 16-bit game with “Ray Tracing”. Beat that PS5 and XBox Series X😆
Many hours of my childhood spent trying to beat this with my cousin, this needs to be released on PSN & Xbox live

Man, this guy T-0815 is an amazing player. I've just discovered this channel by watching arcade game plays.
Dat atmosphere tho!! Also the visuals, quite advanced for the time, with some neat digitized looking stuff. And it doesn't hurt either that the gameplay is pretty good!

I think a 3D remake of this game would be awesome!
That'll be awesome
me and my dad used to play this when i was so young. so much nostalgia right now
It took me damn near too long to remember this underrated game. I swear I played it so damn much I can still hear the music. Ahh, sweet memories.

Stage 3 (the forest) was always my favorite. That background beat was just too epic!
This game was so tough when my Dad and I used to play it when I was a kid. I finally beat it when I became a teenager. I love the soundtrack!
The Stage 5 music, damn...that could be in an 80's SF monster movie score, easily. Reminds me a bit of Predator, actually. One of my faves on MD... Great!!! I love its music... I only wished it was longer, but for the time I couldn't expect much more...
I did not know about this game, it has good graphics, a good soundtrack and its style of play similar to "prehistoric island in 1930" wooow !! I have to get it. greetings from Mexico 👋👋👋
Wow, a playthrough where they didn't cheese through the whole game with homing spaghetti/bubbles
On the other hand, he didn't use the charge shot at all past the first stage.
An example of Genesis Does what Nintendon't
This game was great in 2 player mode. I seem to remember each ship changed what the four possible weapons did. Red homing laser all the way!
Musique is awesome !!!!
This guy have amazing handle and reaction! I played this game on hardest level and now stop at 6th stage coz im getting mad of all this shots on me.
One more time - amazing skill!
I always went with the ship that looked like a stingray. The Red weapon turned into a homing laser with it!
wow, never heard of this shmup... looks and sounds awesome. The music is freaky :D
This guy made Stage 7 and 8 look easy when they're almost impossible
Bitis11nasicornis 7 is easy. 4 and 8 are pain in ass
I loved the music and gameplay my friend an I had a awesome time during our younger days
I couldn't get past the 2nd level as an 8 year old when this came out.
Bought it for the Wii VC, and STILL can't get past the 2nd level.
Thank you!! I loved playing this game!! Such a great game!!!!!!!!
this game amazed me when i was little kid now i watching back this game still AWNSOME.
loved this back in the day i never understoof the flying mechanical ship? fighting an unleashed virus that creates and spawns hostile life, i dont get a common cold and it forms metal lol? :)
The creatures took over the ship, most likely using it as a shell.
Shooters where my fav games to play when I had the Genesis.

This game is so effin hard. One of the few Genesis shooters I've never beaten.
0:26. Why does that look like the sulaco from aliens??
I think 'Crying' is much more appropriate title than Bio-Hazard Battle.
Великолепная игра и звук на высоте
I can't defeat the giant sting ray at the end of the fifth stage for the moment, frustrating...
I don't think this game would be beatable without the homing laser LOL.
Great program technic!
Final boss looks more like the Death Star
The game ended:hey silly bio warriors back to the aquarium taht’s enough mischief this bio warriors liked marine animals
liked the look of this alot and saw it cheap so i bought it :), wasnt dissapointed
Anyone else notice that the soundtrack actually stays the same for the stages? Seriously, listen closely. The music totally sounds different, but it’s the beats or whatever.
It's called a Motif
I love playing this game, I bought the newish genises console at Wal-Mart but it didn't have that game 😞😞😞

My favorite character is the sting ray that I even drew a pic of it😊😊😊
@Monstoday Yeah mate that is the case, but it depends which ship youre flying as to what colour gives you what :)
The first levels you can get comfortable. over time..but yeah, its hard at first...
Beautiful
HAPPY TO OWN CARTGRIDGE COPY OF THIS GAME
This game reminds me of R-Type with the way the power up system works.
24:10 [TRYPOPHOBIA WARNING: That spons-like enemies will make u Disgusted]
Its all about those blue homing bubbles
John Carpenter should've made this into a feature film.
In fact the module must be used to defeat it, but it's tricky...
What in the world is the plot? Did humanity engineer some abominations to go fight other abominations?
The music is great still! I love retro games
what a game..i see,i am old :-)
Stage 4, my bad. Wish there were a quick edit option for YT comments, lol.
@cubex55 well w.e. still amazing :)
3:24 ->3:44 tiditiditiditiditiditiditiditidi ...is there a sound bug ? lol no, but it look like x)
tiditiditiditiditiditidtiditidtiditi for 20 seconds, are you serious ? nobody think : "hey it's too much, it look like bug sound !" ???
26:46 What futile boss fight is that?
Can I ask you a question is this game Hard Mode and Expert Mode are 2 Player game?
Just ask I did try the Expert Mode it was a 2 player game because they had lots of enemies do you agree?
I'm not sure what you mean. It's possible to play with either 1 or 2 players on any difficulty.
Although it has been many years since I played this game, I do want to say that two players may had more enemies. Stage1 0:22 : falling from space
Eye enemies in the final stage remind me of Andross' eyes in star fox 64.
Giant pink sperm-shaped flying squid
me and my dad used to play this when i was so young. so much nostalgia right now
Smooth Chaos dude same...this and sonic were my childhood
