Hey John, I want to compliment you on something you said. You said that sometimes you have to do something that the bass do not anticipate, like throwing out that bluegill while still on your line. You presented a target to that fish that was 100% natural, something that they would consider edible in a heartbeat. You fooled that Bass into hitting that bluegill and it was darn clever if you ask me. Then you had the wherewithal to maintain your composure through the entire fight, not getting excited. All in all you played this one just right, from presentation to landing. You're confidence level is growing in the process to, you can see it on film. Well done brother.
@@WoodsWalkinLYF that's what I'm saying time for a new spot on fishing here in Indiana where I am we have 2 places to fish & neither 1 is not worth the time of day.
I've caught some big bass with very light line, but never, ever with a hook that tiny. And, for that matter, mine were always in open water with no logs or other structure to swim under or through. That was one amazing catch. That was also why I love ultra light fishing more than any other kind. It's easy to horse a big bass in when you're using forty pound braid, but landing one with two pound test, and with logs in the equation, makes it a huge thrill when it goes right.
That was an amazing catch given the conditions and tackle and obstacles. What amazes me the most is the tiny gold hook did NOT straighten out or open up during the fight...Bravo!
That was a very nice bass on two pound line , thank you for you're videos and thank you for staying you're faith ; it's rare in these last days for a man to have fortitude and proclaim his beliefs God bless you Brother and keep you and your family. Great video
Man...what a catch on that bass..........and on 2lb line! I don't use 2lb line....know why?....because I can't even tie a hook on without breaking the line when I go to tighten it up! So what an awesome catch you made...............my hat's off to you...I AM NOT WORTHY OH GREAT FISHERMAN! LOL!
Gee whiz that was exciting! When I was stationed at Fort Knox years ago my Wife and I would drive down to Green River and fish. Don't know about now but then there used to be trout below the spillway.
That is how I grew up fishing. We waded creeks in Bg South Fork and caught those redeyes and smallmouth bass o redworms and minnows. I found a creek near my house in Northeast Alabama and started catching those redeyes and largemouth in it. NO one ever knew they were there. Great Video.
Cool, glad you got him in and not broke off. Good for your video and GREAT for him not running around with that little hook in his and a bunch of line hanging out f his lip. NICE FISH.
Incredible. Crazy that TINY hook held that big bass. My personal best bass was this year on a live bluegill I had been in the process of trying to reel in. Hook wasn't quite as small, but the fight was very similar. Took me up under multiple dock posts. By some miracle it did not come off, it weight almost 6 lbs.
That is insane! Well done! Great job getting it to the scales for sure! ...i caught all the trout last week on that lure with chartreuse split tail. Couldnt get a bite with anything else i threw...good tackle trout magnet has. As you proved!!
Good job man amazing got him in pretty impressive I watch alot of your videos n I learn alot about creek fishing n im gonna try some of your methods in them thanks for posting your videos God bless
Just more recently started watching you I love that you fish mostly light setup would love if you haven’t already to do a setup overview I’m trying really hard to do more light fishing
son of a gun.. a 4 lbs creek shark on 2 lbs test.. That has to be in your record book... Well done! It was like everything that could go right did.. Also that ole creek bass didn't seem to mind the intrusion in his day either.. no massive fight when you got close to him.. not protest when you lifted him out of the water.. I am thinking he just wanted his face time on camera... a hollywood creek shark maybe... Thanks for the share, carry on and be blessed brother John..
I love creek fishin, it is very close to my heart. I can nearly smell this video.

i always enjoy using lighter line, but this was a little extreme

I have no idea how that actually worked out

Same with me Greg, I even have trouble tightening the knot on 4lb line without breaking it.
Dude that was amazing. Good job! Crazy on that tiny hook.

I never thought it would work out but you never can tell
