- Chris Cain was a major highlight of the January 2012 Bluescruise. Many folks had never seen him before (me included) and were jus blown away by his shows. Also proved to be a great cruiser, mixing it up with locals. Love this guy. Enjoy the show. 7 music videos. Plus 2 videos of rapping between songs (labeled with an "s" after the numbers. (i.e. 1s follow music video 1). There is also a playlist that has everything I got. Band Members: Chris Cain- Vocals and guitar; Greg Rahn- Keyboards; Steve Evans- Bass; Mick Mestek- drums.
Chris CAIN. Brilliant bluesman if I ever heard one. Too bloody good Sir!!
He slays folk on his axe ... than steps up to a mic and this HUGE voice comes out. Man, he could just be a singer and folk would adore him. But this Blues Master is truly the whole package!
Truth right there! :)
Yep. And yet, when you talk with him, he's such a soft spoken cat.
Yep, Chris has been around a long time. I was actually his first drummer when he formed "The Chris Cane Band" back in the 80's. Chris just flows with passion for the blues and music in general. And he will make you feel every note his guitar.... He can bring you to tears.... Literally.
Back before he must’ve changed how he spelled his name. Wow!
I've known Chris since 1986. My all time favorite player.
I have seen Chris Cain live many times. He is my favorite Blues artist. His band is great!!! Thanks for the y-tube videos.
Adam Guerrero Lucky man!!!
I must of listened to this 30 times.. Love it.
Checked this out after your mustang vid. Thanks for that!
Kinky Walrus so did i,thanks shane
Chris sounds great through the super reverb!
I love this dude too shane
Chris is so damn good. His phrasing is just spot on, and he makes every note count.
Never heard of him till a few days ago ! WOW !! This is a Bluesman !Reminds me of a young BB King !Fantastic ! Why is he not on the cover of every guitar magazine in America ????
Love Chris, even more, after all these years! 2023
I´m 49 years and been playing the guitar all my life. What the hell - why haven´t I heard about this guy before. He is the BEST out there! Thank you RUclips for bringing this soulmate into my world.
The Finest Blues Guitarist I've Ever Heard! Chris Cain!
Yes, Chris Cain is one of the greatest guitarists ever, awesome singer, great guy, and it is a shame that he is so underrated and never considered for the Blues Music Awards (he deserves them all!). A true bluesman, honest to his art and heart.
Chris plays great and his voice doesn't disappoint. He sings as good as he plays.
Chris Cain is one of Top living Blues Guitarist on the planet. He is not as well known s many but he will be soon enough!! A true Chris Hurri Cain is coming!!
Thanks for posting. Glad to know Chris is still out there doing it... KILLIN' it. One of my faves.
T.A. James Nice one TA!
Wow blown away fabulous want to see him live now
Happened upon Chris at the Biscuits and Blues Club, San Francisco, August 2010 ... one of the best nights of my life! Wish he'd come to England.
just the right amount of jazz in his blues...love it.
It doesn't get any better than this folks.
The real deal , living proof you don't need a Pedal board , or any gimmicks ! Just pure talent !!!!
Like you, I am a life long guitar guy, (now 60 yrs old) and never saw chris until this bluescruise. Love this guy. Glad to share and turn others on to him. Most of my West Coast friends knew Chris well, but somehow many of us east coasters somehow missed him. Definitely a favorite or ours.
Just heard an album on spotify. I think he has a great mixture of styles. On the album he sounded more like Larry Carlton. That's okay. When you play blues, your influences are easy to hear. The man sounds great. Very fluid. Very nice tone. Excellent control. He is a bad boy. I do not know what you guys don't like about him. Don't get much better!
Love to my brother Chris.
i talked to him today..hes got that same humor.... P Nth NZ.. 3/09/2023 incredible
He is one of the best I have heard. Its funny how he is never there or invited to CrossRoads Guitar festival :-(
I have two CDs personally signed by Chris Cain. He is the living Blues Guru
Clapton lives in fear.
Had the identical experience a couple of days ago with the great mr Cain. Had not heard him live or on album before, and after 10 seconds in his first tune I was blown away with tasty, soulfull and melodic licks! For all uf us at the concert we felt like it was the first time we really heard how master blues guitar should really sound! Iinspirations from the great ones (B.B and Freddy King..), but a new take on it - superb timing, the bends and vibrato very musical, voice and stage appearance!
Is there a better Blues Guitarist on the planet? Face melted!
great clip... a master of the blues guitar... when is this guy going to hit the bigtime? ... the whole package and more.
I’m trying to find gold locking gold buttons. Please help
I like hearing n seeing a Blues guitarist that feels it in his soul,Hell Yeah! Like SRV did.
This is Chris on form. Sounds amazing. Thanks so much for posting.
He's BB & Albert King all rolled up !
Gosh I've been a Chris Cain fan for 14 years or so. I've seen him so many times I can't count. I was very lucky when he played at my 50th birthday party held at Arcadia Blues Club. Chris is not only an amazing performer but he is an all around good guy! Get his Cain Does King Album. He has also done great work with Robben Ford and Patrick Ford. Patrick Ford (Robben's brother) has produced most of Chris' album! Glad you are on the bus and thanks to the OP for the great videos!
Chris Cain is a master of the blues. An incredible show, if you ever get the chance. This guy played one-on-one with Albert. He is a true reflection of the blues. He should definitely be on Austin City Limits. He's in South America right now tearing it up.
Coming to Canberra - Australia 18 May 2019 - cannot wait - super star!!!
Greg Rahn on B3, Steve Evans on Bass, Sky Garcia on Drums.. the man, the myth, the legend on Guitar and Vocals, CAIN!!
Always makes me feel good. This is the Blues...are you listening???
How does he get such nice overdriven tone out of I guess a super reverb/Twin reverb? Your ear will be blown away if you turn up the volume knob to the crank up point…
My type of player! Awesome. Would love to see Chris live! Yeah BB King could play like this 30+ years ago but not anymore..so its nice there is someone to pick it up! Right on Chris!
i saw bb like a month ago...its was a spectacle for sure...he seemed more interested in the audience than playing music...and he wanted the lights left on so he could see his fans... Id love to catch Chris Cain and will soon... this summer im guessing.
I can see why B.B. KING said this boy can play the blues. He makes it look so easy it pisses me off . I can not play near this and I am 60 years old. I hope to God he comes to Cleveland ,Ohio before I croke because I would love to see him perform. This man is the blues.
He’s truly amazing!
So tasty! WOW! Love his voice too!
Nobody does it like Chris Cain!
I agree. And a funny thing about him is that he performs consistently better in front of an audience. I have bought a couple of his albums on iTunes. Good albums and great playing indeed, but it is only on these live clips, that he really blows my socks of :-)
ÉBLOUISSANT ! UN COEUR PUR....
Chris is the best blues player live.
One of my favorite players.
Killer playing Chris!
That's an understatement!!!
Chris Cain is the best blues player in the same line as BB King. Underrated.
Love Chris! Come back to Sacramento soon!
.... awesome ....
Kirk Fletcher, a great player, told me about Chris and Kirk was right!! Chris is outstanding!!
I miss the old days when bay area blues lovers could see Chris, Tommy Castro and even the Ford Blues Band on any given week-end.
They're out there now.
The SF Bay Area doesn't get much recognition for the blues. Tommy Castro was named Blues Entertainer Of The Year Twice. We also have great blues harp players like Gary Smith, Andy Just and others. And of course, Sista Monica is out of this world. Ron Thompson, The Night Cats (my favorite). New guys like JC Smith. Too many to mention.
Nice work on uploading this. Chris is on form!
I have never heard of Chris before I heard Joe Bonamasa mention him on a video. Such great talent, so many great players out there. Chris is very rootsy , excellent !
Reminds me a lot of BB King (RIP) but I actually prefer Chris......personal preference.
I prefer Chris to Joe Bonamassa. My personal preference.
The best blues player on the road today.....My 2 cents
Chris is Bad News playing those Blues
Yeah... good stuff.
What song is thisssss??? Listened to this 100 times now...
Elvin Bishop - Prisoner Of Love Lyrics
Damn.. he lost so much weight.. he looks great.. and always sounds great..
I've never seen or heard his equal.
Chris Cain is the most un-discovered blues man of my lifetine. Tried, tried and tried again, to get him on Austin City Limits. I need your help, y'all out there. This man needs a national audience. Contact Austin City Limits and demand him.
Just discovered this guy, outstanding, on first impression (especially when he sings) you think BB King, but to say he is a copy is wrong, he takes a lot of influence from King but makes it his own and takes the guitar much further in technique and varity... he is a class act
Great footage, started figuring out his song Blues for Curtis J frmo the Unscheduled flight album that I got lyin' here, check it out. it's amazing! Can play up to 23 seconds now, hahaha
Correction, that appears to be Mick Mestic on the drums... hmmm... one or the other. Sky or Mick...
Can't be faulted.
BB reincarnated. His voice his so possessed by Mr. King, it's uncanny.
Fantastic feel and soul. How do i decifer the coding youve done with these recordings, just to see if i can find and buy.
Many thanks for recording this for us all to enjoy!
Anybody that dont like chris cain dont know shit about the blues or any other guitar music! I've seen some of the world's best live and hes in that class too.
yep
Baby Please Percy Mayfield
What amps?
Do I see the successor of B: B. King?
BBalbert King
Love Robben and he will always be my favorite but have to disagree. There is no one except perhaps Chris' influences all the Kings...B.B., Albert and Freddy who have the touch and soul. BTW...Chris is very good friends with Robben, Mark and Patrick Ford.
CHRIS CAIN IS GOD.....
Some say that he imitates b.b. King, that's not reality .... only he influenced like so many did and played influenced by their idols such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robin Trower, Mac knopfler, ... even because his guitar is played with elements of Jazz thing BB. makes no
¿Por qué pone las mismas caras que BB King?
don't you like us on the east coast
'
Id be hard pressed to name someone from the past who was actually better.
Undeniably good. But, man, it's so weirdly like BB King that I can't get over the fact that he sounds like he's just imitating BB.
Don't they all though
No mas q BBKING a Robert Laney son identicas
Tjeck out Matt Schofield as well, if you have'nt already. Similar in many ways but still different. A very cool bluesartist as well :-)
Great player but there's a lot mentioning B.B king now come on
Sit down Bonamassa, Chris is the real deal! They should have ended it after Chris's solo, the keyboard solo just sounds lame after it. Made the song to long. Now I'm fucking bored... I have to watch Chris again!
my opinion very overrated.... there are a ton of guys doing the same thing as this cat... nothing particular original here...at least Robben Ford has a style and sounds like no body else.LOL.
Ya feel good? Got ur opinion out there? What a relief we got to hear YOUR opinion yay! Stfu
