  • This is a story about a boy, his grandpa and his robot.
    This started as a simple 3d printing How To video and began to evolve into what you see here over the course of editing it. It puts me a bit behind my 30 day challenge, but I think the result is totally worth it.
    I hope you enjoy.

    There was a R2D2 toy with a follow feature, though this toy uses a range finder on the head to create a primitive map of the room. The R2 would lock onto the first moving object it saw and follow it around.
    I once made a fan that would always point at whoever was holding the remote using the same same sonic triangulation algorithm. I am surprised it is not used more often.

    • @Geeksmithing
      @Geeksmithing  3 года назад

      Oh wow, that is really cool! When was that R2 introduced? An always pointing fan is genius!! hmmmmm.... :D

      @@Geeksmithing yes absolutely. My pivotal memory was a trip to radio shack with my dad. He bought me a 6V battery, some alligator clips, some little DC light bulbs and a buzzer. I spent hours playing with those components figuring it all out. I ended up becoming an electrical engineer!

Keep up the good work...look forward to #5.
