Great analysis... I don't think that the DFS trade will happen just because the Nets got him in the Kyrie trade with Dallas... I do see a series in which Dallas can beat the Celtics - They need to light it up from 3 (very possible) and I can see the Celtics straggling (JT and JB can have many off nights in the playoffs and force things, KP can be injured, but - the Celtics will always apply great perimeter pressure on Kyrie and Luka and that's why they need another creator). Maybe try to trade for Collin Sexton to be a better back up guard that can create something when Luka and Kyrie are off the floor (and play next to them)... Maybe even Bogdan Bogdanovich...
@@LiamEdelshtein Ouuu I actually love both of those options! Sexton would be a cool add to the team since he doesn’t always need the ball to be effective.
@@JERWINIVANCORBETA That’s a good point, I suppose Sexton is a bit more dynamic than Spencer nowadays but yeah it probably isn’t a no-brainer type thing.
the only thing that worries me about this klay replacing djj's role is if klay shooting is gon be as good as djj'defense, will his defense gon be as bad as djj's shooting that teams like celtics or okc could make a hole out of it? djj is a unique defender that uses his athletecism to turn it into defense but ppl gotta remember that djj was so effective being a poa defender because he was a closer and a starter that allows him to guard the best players of the oppsig teams for a lot of min yes, naji and grimes are great defenders but are they gon be effective? both of them will most likely have to come off the bench and will only able to guard opposing teams best players for a few min or in their next set of rotation. this is gon be a problem esp if you need defense in the last min of a close game. where Jkidd has to make a decision whether he has to take out either kyrie or klay and get replaced by naji or grimes to play defense, which is I think gon be an issue for klay or kyrie getting benched in a close out game. but one thing is for sure we got better pieces it all comes down to Jkidd how is he gon utilize 11 playable players.
@@iMacaroniCheese You raise a very fair concern, and honestly I wouldn’t expect that level of defense. That’s obviously an unfortunate loss but like you said, the roster is overall in a better place so maybe it doesn’t matter 🤷🏻♂️
Have you ever considered calculating minutes on a per-season basis using the 19,680 minutes available? The per-game breakdown is difficult because we know players - like Maxi Kleber - are going to get some burn. I could never get the per game to work out, but I was successful using the 19,680 figure, especially when considering an average of 70 games per player.
@@JoeSilverrav That’s certainly a way of getting a more realistic overall outlook. I personally wouldn’t do that in this exercise because we want to get a baseline for our nightly lineup. A lot of trainers actually use what you mentioned to make sure they load manage people properly. With this though I just want an idea of what my lineup looks like on an average night. It’s more so for the coaches. It’s a great thought though!

Interesting you have the mavs number 2. For me i was thinking wolves 2 and then dallas 3. But i love where dallas is right now they finally have depth and talent around luka. I wonder if they will trade jaden hardy with all the guards they have now and the need for a shot creator. They have klebers salary and the 2025 first.
@@M8trix6363 Yeah those 3 things could be an interesting enough package to go get you someone. Any ideas who they could look at with a package like that?
I think that at least one of the Kleber-Powwell duo will stay with Dallas until the end, because these two are the only ones left of the whole team who have been with Luka from the very beginning. I think that is Luka's wish. We'll see.
Good team. Although I'm not sure about Clay's signing. He lost his lateral speed and in defence runs like a chicken with it's head cut) i wonder if they could sign KCP and pay him the salary he got in the Magics, not sure about it. I remember they couldn't resign Jones befiore Hardaway's trade because he wasn't in the team for a long time (Bird's rule staff). Great breakdown as usual!
@@arkadypolonsky2355 Appreciate you! Yeah they could have done a sign and trade for KCP if they wanted. I’ll be curious to see Klay on a new team. Might find some new life.
@@arkadypolonsky2355 Haha maybe. Offensively I’m not worried at all. Dude still gave ya 18 a night on good efficiency so that should continue to translate. The defense the last two years did nosedive though. If I remember correctly his defensive rating is traditionally like 109 (which is nuts) and now he is like a 117 (not good but could be worse). That’s why I’m hoping the change of scenery helps him out a bit in that department.
@@CashKD Yeah I totally hear ya there. I can see a great benefit to Klay but it will probably take some adjusting. I do think you will see him look a little rejuvenated on a new squad though. Sometimes something new is all you need.
@@_AVC_ The Mavs have 3 problem roster spots: (1) Maxi making full MLE money, but not playing like that caliber of player; (2) Dwight Powell being overpaid for a 14th guy and being redundant as a locker room guy, while simultaneously occupying a spot that should be reserved for a developmental player; and (3) Javale McGee being dead money.
