- I make Izuku Midoriya's Deku mask, from EVA foam, without using any power tools!
In this video I will show you step by step how I made Deku's Mask as seen in My Hero Academia Two Heroes. The only tools i used were hobby knives, rulers, sandpaper, paintbrush, and a special hole making tool.

Oh, I wanted to share a few things I’ve found from making props lately. I’ve actually found you can glue with wet contact cement, and it seems to still bond as strong. I used it when having to glue a foam cylinder inside another cylinder because I couldn’t let the cement dry or they would have been stuck together either a very weak seam. One more thing, I saw on Adam Savage’s Tested that he used Molotow Liquid Chrome permanent ink on foam, and it was so shiny and smooth it looked like actual silver metal. I’d love to try it out myself one day. Hope this helps someone
William Jakespeare also uses Molotow, I have yet to get my hands on some.
I have used wet connections too, when the fit would be impossible, takes longer to dry. I don't mention it in videos, I have had too many people try to use it like white glue, but expect it to stick like in the video!

its supposed to remember a grin so id define the peaks a bit more with a black wash or something , otherwise pretty good, a good material to use to pull a pattern is one of those mesh mouth guards for paint ball/bb's , thats kind of what the originals version was before this.

Another really cool build. I didn’t think making Deku’s mask would be that complicated to shape out, so honestly props to you for being able to keep all those angles and patterns straight, because just my few simple props I’ve made have been tricky to keep track of
We can make this more complicated if we want to. Add darts to the underside too, and get a better angle on the edge...
Odin Makes how would you be able to keep track of all the pieces and get all those seams cleanly lined up?! Seems almost impossible, or at least insanely hard to do

if i can make a suggestion for cutting the angled grooves. most office stores or picture frame shops sell 45 degree bevel cutters. basically a flat tool that holds a razor blade at the right angle. i've found it's perfect for cutting fold lines in EVA, you just need to change the blade fairly often.
Sweet! I have the Cos-Tools one, but it's a bit bulky for most my projects.

Fun Fact, I made my mask to go outside shopping myself and I made it look like Overhauls Beak mask. It is not a long beak in shape, it is a regular mask but I used the decorative stitches, those metal rims and such to make my mask look like his

The Kurgan's sword from Highlander, bonus points if you can get the flip up blades at the cross guard to work, extra bonus points if you can make it disassemble/reassemble.
That always bugged me... not the pop out blades, but it disassemble/reassembling... If it just pops together with spring loaded bearings, wouldn't it pop right apart in combat? Or even if it was swung hard? Let's say it has some sort of locking bearings, each connection is still a weak point in the blade.

man, with this whole quarantine thing going on and my hair getting to its long lengths, My friends have wanted me to dye the hair and do a deku cosplay and this came out legit 2 days after them telling me this and it looks dope. Thanks for making my life easier Odin helps me out :D

I've never seen what this mask is from (I'm just watching because I like seeing Odin make things) but my first thoughts when seeing it were that it looks like a mask made of 123 blocks

Business suggestion: you should make kits that you sell for people to do at home that allow them to follow along with you on the youtube video. This seems like a simple one you can do and turn around a decent profit. Thats just my suggestion though

My wife & I were thinking of making a pouch on the inside to hold a foam filter or a coffee filter so it could be a covid-19 mask. Very cool idea.
