Thank you for this recap. It brought tears to my eyes to relive that first day. I will be following along this map series. Actually even the commercials were watchable! In May 2017, deviating from a camino, I hiked the Grand Canyon. I am certain you get many suggestions, but with your filming and narrating talent, this might be a great project for you. The grand Canyon rim to rim and camping along the trail is an incredible journey. The visual is spectacular. Thanks again Efren. Looking forward to the next episode.
Hi Efren, my wife and I walked every foot of the Camino Frances last fall. We watched your original vlogs before we went and they really inspired us but your new series is adding a tremendous sense of the bigger landscape we walked through. I noticed last year that the longer we walked the more we focused only on the immediate task at hand. Probably chronic fatigue as we weren't in really great shape as you seemed to be and we are 25 years older as well. I appreciate all the work that went into this as it surely took a lot of editing and research. It is also teaching us, a bit too late, on the proper pronunciation of many of the Spanish words and place names we mangled. Your joie do vivre is also apparent, so keep it up! For us Camino Portuguese is next, in 2021 from Lisbon, Santiago de Compostela to Finisterre.
@@Walk_with_Efren I’m early on. Is there a video discussing how to handle your phone plan while in Spain? I’m from the US and use ATT. How do u keep the cost down? Thank you.
I love your comment about preferring the cool weather, I have worked at temperature 40C + 100% humidity and always prefer the wet cold weather for walking the Camino. Love the effort you have gone very impressive , buona fortuna amigo
Glad to see you're back, amigo peregrino! I will be giving a talk tomorrow at my church about the camino and I will be sure to mention that you are "the" guy to watch when preparing for the camino or just dreaming about it!
I love the side by side view of the winter route vs the Roman route. I think the Roman breaks a lot of people on day 1, coming down off the summit was hard on the knees; I think in hindsight the winter is better if you chose not to have poles:). Excellent video 👍
I took converters that were the same color as my actual charger. I must have lost 2 of them by just pulling my charger out and leaving the converter in the wall and walking off in the first week. If I ever go back I will definitely try and do something to not forget. Not so bad after it becomes routine but the start of the journey oh boy.
Wow! I just found out about your channel on a FB page and came to check you out and am I glad I did! I hit that subscribe button! Thank you for sharing all your hard work.
Before Refuge Orisson, where you leave the path for the road again, there is a big ceramic map of the valley on the French side. Turn around and look across the road and there is a telephone pole to the right. There is a water tap on that pole.
Really enjoyed yet another Camino video guide from you. Love the enthusiasm and effort you put in it!😊❤ Also, you did something with the light so now your new set up looks even better! 🏞 Anyway, just keep them coming! Your new vlog always make my day!☕🍮🐌
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thanks for all the work you do especially the KLM files. I know that must have take you a while. I would love to walk the Camino with a pro level 360 camera for a Google street view of the whole thing. You down?
thank you J B. it crossed my mind but Google won't pay you for doing the monumental job of taking a 360 picture every 3 meters, editing them, blurring people's faces, license plate and such. although there are empty patches most of it is already there.
I just walked into the first albergue that cought my eye. no reservations. it was a bit expensive but small dorm rooms. I should have stayed at the municipal but at the time I had no notion or distinction between a private and a municipal albergue.
thank you Bob. Are you using google maps or google earth pro? they are similar but not the same. I will later do a video on how to use it on the camino for navigation. I'll throw in a few tips.
@@Walk_with_Efren I have Google Earth Pro. It's great, but what you do is a step up. I look forward to your video. Great Stuff. Muchas Gracias. Buen Camino.
Hola Efrén, I was supposed to go in May then opportunity happened and now in this confinement -estoy aprendiendo español ! I am using duo lingo . ..how different is the Castilian Spanish of Spain compared to the Spanish of the Americas?
as different as American vs Britsh (mostly the accent). surprisingly enough you could get by on the camino speaking only English but a few phrases in Spanish will go a long way with the locals.

You are responsible for my current obsession with the Camino de Santiago. I can't wait to get on my way.

Wow, these GPS files are amazing! Thank you so much!!! Bon Camino!
Did you noticed CF Day 8 and 14 are missing?

Efren, what albergue did you stay at in St. Jean? How was it? Did you make advance reservations?
