What's wild about this, is if you actually look at this gauntlet run it legit looks like he's baiting the balls and going the other way. Made it through first try and knew he could channel the rift.... so to make it through that part completely fine and then walk around in a circle for so long in the sand room is bananas.

I amazed how many different WA and addons this guy has.
He clearly invested time into his UI and somehow ended up with this amalgamation which could be considered a blindfold light. Amazing.
On completing the dungeon, they only completed the dungeon because the tank is playing paladin and Prot pala happens to auto-kick. Without that they would still be fighting the Marauders today.

    I know I should've recorded but anyway
Did a +5 Fall on my fresh lvl 70 428 ilvl druid (balance) that I also have no previous experience with in other expansions.
Joined 3 paladins (2 of them were prot, found that out mid key..) and a sham healer, an absolute enigma of a player.
All waited for the sham for like 5 to 10 minutes till he typed: "Im over the mountain now" meaning he had no dragonflying or dragonflying mounts and was ground mount walking to the dungeon. (this still gives me tons of questions.) he "must've missed the quest for flying" he said.. we summoned him tho.
We wiped on every boss except for the second one and our majestic shaman was the first to die every time, we had 2 prot pally's and they could solo it.
We then failed to place circle on chromie on final boss for 4 or 5 wipes (they didnt soak after I had the circle) both the prot paladins then left. a +5, 10 min over time and still disbanding it in the end, with me having done 52% of overall dungeon damage at 59k dps.

Similar story here. My mate dinged a priest, so I wanted to give him a quick boost. He got a key, +2 Rise. Brought my 480 bear. Still took proper comp of random n00bs. I'm >3k on main, and >2.8k on best tank, so I knew what I was doing... issue was, pugs knew BETTER! They kept killing themselves over and over, and berating me, the top source of healing AND damage and sole source of interrupts not counting my buddy. By last boss, 2 of the geniuses who couldn't just follow the tank left, so we abandoned the key, reset, gotten a different +2 and went with 2 more guildies. 4-manning proved easier than putting up with clueless, selfindulged pugs...

there is a vast number of players who play like 4-6 hours over the whole weekend (fr+sat+sun) and thats it.
if every mythic-run was magically saved as replay by blizz, you would see countless runs like this.
thousands of players take weeks/months to even reach mythic-entry. questing, dabbling in professions wandering the open world etc. ya know casuals.
most not even using a single addon.
it could be argued that with the right mindset a key like that was a lot of fun for everyone involved who plays the game without sweating profusely.

This was me back in TBC, althought he knew his talents and role at least. Throughout vanilla, I thought dungeons were essentially like the arcade game, Gauntlet. You just went in there and did your best, with some characters being good at some things and others being good at others. I had no idea that there were "roles" in the game in dungeon parties. I remember just standing there the first time I was in Mana Tombs and, being a Prot Warr, one guy said, "Alright, go up and tank it" and I said, "What do you mean?"
I must have been in ZF, Mara, BRD etc and no one ever said anything to me. Looking back, I guess they just figured it would take too long to explain things and we just winged it. I think I did figure out I on my own eventually that I could survive better than others, so I was more in the mix of things (melee) knowing I could take it, but it wasn't by design. We always did pretty good as I remember keeping that little green guy at the bottom of the ZF stairs fight alive, for example, so he could blow up the door with his dynamite and I had the mallet to bang the gong at the end LOL. What an experience.

Wow, I never knew there was someone else out there who could get so lost so easily. Super props to these guys for finishing it and at least learning the geography of the place so next time they can focus on mechanics (hopefully).
It's funny, though. LAst season when I was messing around on my horde monk just for the giggles (and because I loved your evoker streams so much) I did notice that there was VERY little toxicity (if any) in liek 2s-9s. And several times people typed in stuff like "never been here before" "no idea how to do this place" and other group members would explain things. Seemed very wholesome, so I am not shocked that there is no toxicity, since presumably all 5 players were new to the instance (and it is for real the most confusing dungeon ever made) I just hope they all took somethign from the run and used it to propel themselves to be better.
Speaking of Evoker streams, gonna put in my request right now. The WoW community NEEDS you and Harry doing keys together. It would be the cure for what ails a community besieged by toxicity and weary for some true fun and funny times. Harry, Metro, Bruvs, make it happen captains!

Yeah, Rise is interesting if you aren't familiar with it. It's simple once you understand it, but you have to figure it out or have it explained to you prior. When the season started, we would clear all 3 portals, go into left and kill Battlefield, go back, go right and kill Morchie, then go back again and go middle to last boss. And to make it more confusing, half of the dungeon is Fall anyways. The gauntlet is where you fought Chronikar, the sand area is where you fought Manifested Timeways and the middle portal leads to the same area where you fight the last bosses.

Imo the solution is using the follower dungeon system to design playable tutorials with an npc constantly explaining the mechanics and route. For example in Rise you could have a scripted fight with a Magus mob with a corroding volley going off and hits everyone for 90% then the npc says the cast must be interrupted, etc. Also guiding arrows based on common routes so people don't get lost.

The funny thing is if this was a normal dungeon on a linear path they would of def timed it lol. I run fall and rise on +20s and I STILL get confused as hell on where to go lmao. Blizzard needs to do away with these types of dungeons. Even pulling up the map you still have no clue where you are and where to actually go. Blizzard needs to do a better job on that without a doubt. You can tell these players were either new or at least new to running that dungeon, which is fine, but clearly they had no clue on where to go.
Also I am still an advocate on blizzard adding checkpoints after every dungeon boss kill incase you die or the group wipes. Half the time you release and you spawn at the start of the dungeon. Very annoying.

These people are new players to the game for sure. The concept of % needed for M+ to be completed, pack value, interupts, soaking, and stuff we all know and do on daily basis are unknown for new players and there is nothing in the game to show you these concepts. There is no Forbidden Reach for max level characters so they are supposed to learn with practice and failing. Actualy when i am watching this i am pretty sure they do not leave cuz they dont know that there is a timer. 🤣🤣
We play this game for decades and most guys who do still cant complete basic things like using stops on packs, interrupting important casts and stuff like that what do you expect from newcomer. 🤣🤣
I am impressed that this guy the tank has Inferno Armoredon - Keystone Master S2 mount (2k rio).

Rise is the worst dungeon to start your Mythic+ learning experience, regardless of key level. Actually, it's the worst dungeon in WoW, period. The amount of one-off mechanics in this place is absolutely staggering. Whoever designed this at blizzard is going on the slow bbq in game design hell.

    • @heythereguysitsMetro
      @heythereguysitsMetro  7 месяцев назад

The only real issue with the dungeon is it's layout and confusing map.
No clue what you mean by "one off mechanics" but obviously you see here all mechanics just do nothing to anyone so that is not in play here.
It's only real issue on higher keys has been it's unforgiving layout and tough timer.
If it was tuned like fall people would have a totally different opinion of it.

    • @paweldurczok
      @paweldurczok 7 месяцев назад

@@heythereguysitsMetro The issue is that for players who have never played through Rise and/or are new to M+ the amount of mechanics with no indication of how they work or what is required of the group to progress is remarkably hight.
You need to kill 3 mini-bosses to spawn the first main one. This will probably happened during the normal course of play, but still isn't a particularly common mechanic, especially this season. Then there's the maze after which you need to click the portal - also, not indicated in any way. Then there's the sand and portals. And on top of that bosses that have mechanics that aren't particularly clear - the mirror images and adds on Morchie, the NPCs during the next boss fight, the orbs on the last boss. Not to mention trash that puts up working portals.
I don't think there's any dungeon in the game with this volume of mechanics. You make a good point that on +2 the mechanics barely do any damage, but are still confusing players.

My Freshly Dinged 70 Paladin and Rogue both got dragged through 6+ keys when they had nothing but leveling blues and greens and still output 45k DPS. 15k is "I have no idea what I'm doing" levels of DPS in modern Dragonflight. I could maybe - *maybe* - understand if this was a +2 from Season 1 and everyone was ilvl 388 or something, but if this run was at all recent then... yeesh.

As far as them getting lost and running in circles - in all honestly, that didn't waste much more than than wiping on Morchie and running back would have. It was painful to watch and pure cringe, but they didn't lose all that much time all things considered.
The moral of the story, I think, is that if you don't know the dungeon, maybe try it on Mythic 0 a few times first before risking someone's key? Ahh, who am I kidding, this is WoW, no one is considerate of other people's time and effort.

    - no interrupts on dangerous spells, but NOTHING in the game teaches what interrupt is, and that some interruptable spells can be bait
    - absolutely chaotic pathing, but NOTHING in the game teaches about trash count, and there is no default, free and build in tools for a tank to design and share their pull plan, much less how to traverse a dungeon... and that's after DECADES of completely linear dungeons where you literally couldn't go any other way
    - boss mechanics ignored, but NOTHING in the game teaches how to approach and handle them
    - most UI packages don't actually emphasize important stuff, like watching interrupts, highlighting dangerous spells, using defensives, assuming the user already knows to do that
I'd be quite interested though to see your comments if you played and recoreded a follower dungeon. That's probably one of the most significant additions that CAN be "educational aids", even though it'd still need stuff like NPCs emoting what they are actually doing for people to take notice.

With a harder baseline of starting out, that will ensure that, so while the game doesn't directly use english language to instruct you how to succeed, it doesn't need to.
