The Charleston is Lindy Hop?

Many Lindy Hop dancers use Charleston steps, especially when dancing to fast tunes. But there are also dancers who discard them, get sick of them or simply don't want to learn them. Some even consider that the Charleston is not Lindy Hop, but a separate style.What then is wrong with the Charleston?
