I'm 36 and I have heard a VAST amount of music in my life. And it's my conclusion there is truly and will ever only be ONE Sam Cooke. .What a voice. No auto tune, no filters, just pure talent singing from his soul..If I ever get married and leave the bachelor lifestyle. My future bride better know we're dancing to this atleast once a week from now until the end 😀
I once loved someone this much. I remember it well. I sang this song for him. I married another, and through the years I learned what it meant to love him that much too. Some fires burn hot and fast, while some grow so slowly that you take them for granted for the longest time. Now, almost 25 years after I turned my back on that first great love because I knew and accepted that he would never be mine, my husband has contracted a fatal illness. He's being taken from me a little more every day, and I realize that my old loss was nothing compared to this. This is an education in agony.

He found out in short order that although he could briefly coverup his name, he could never ever disguise that voice!! So as you know, he took his name back and the rest is his tremendous legacy.
