They'd be like the Ornitholestes in the book, probably wanted a dino like they that didn't have a name that sounds like can become "molestes". I do recall as a kid calling Walmart asking if they had Coelophysis back then, fun name to try to ask an adult to see if they had.
Vom ersten Jurassic Park Film habe ich die komplette Toyline der ersten Serie. Ich bin Sammler und liebe Jurassic Park. Danke für das coole Video, Bro. 😉
One correction: Hasbro didn't cancel the line. They held the Jurassic Park license until 2016 when Universal took it back and gave it to Mattel. Hasbro took over the line for JP3 and they continued to make toys for years. Only releasing dinosaurs and as toys r us exclusives. Most of the were re-paints of older toys and they kept releasing them until 2008. 2009 was supposed to have new toys with new sculpts but that was cancelled with only two of the new sculpts eventually being made and released for the 20th anniversary for Jurassic Park in 2014 as a Toys R Us exclusive. We would only see Hasbro make toys for the last time for Jurassic World in 2015 and early 2016. They lost the license after failing to come to terms with Universal. Many fans believe that the public outcry for the poor quality and distribution of the toys was vocal enough that Universal pulled it from them.
Thank you for this video. Youve cleared up so many questions ive had for this line ive sat on for years! And showed me items i didnt know existed till now. Thank you.
Fun and entertaining video, Paul. Love the Jurassic Park movies and appreciate the action figure toyline, but I simply don't have the room, for all of the Dinosaurs! :)
I had load of these as a kid. Always remember being so gutted that i never got the Dr Malcolm figure as by the time they'd hit stores I'd kind of left the collection behind and grown out of them. Also why did Kenner never release a John Hammond? Would have been a good figure
i so wish i had taken better care of mine. With all the moving around i did, and due to reckless, mine were lost. I did get the new '93 classic grant and malcom though recently.
I still wish that Kenner had managed their Series 3 plans which were more spread out and filling in characters from the movies. Genaro, Lex, Arnold, Wu, and John Hammond were supposed to be in it along with a more general release of the worker figure. Most of the new characters were supposed to be packins for playsets and vehicles. Genaro with a set of larger fences (and, probably, a toilet building) and from the bits that I saw would be Kenner also modifying an Aliens Bishop figure to work for him. Wu would have a lab playset, Arnold with the control room. Hammond with the visitors center lobby. Lex would be the main one for a new one for general figures if you didn't count the park worker. Potentially a Mr DNA figure as a giveaway one. Grant and Ellie in the flannel dig site gear, along with an injured Malcom to finish the set. And hints of a Harding/JP Vet figure paired with a repaint of the Trike as a holiday special one. And a holiday kitchen/dining room set with a tim and lex. A chunk of the things would have more parts intercompatibility with the figures from the Alien/AvP line's human stuff. From the leaked sheet of work for it, the Ellie was going to use parts from the Aliens Ripley. There were things about less armed vehicles as well...so I'd assumed a more film accurate set of Jeep, Explorer, and Helicopter. Only unique dinosaur that I remember from descriptions was a pack that was a bunch of compies that were all the size of the hatchling toys. All that existed of it were several pages of sketches and notes on filling slots for things...and then they had the Lost World stuff, I could have seen both going since they were intercompatible lines anyway
@@toyscavenger A big reason the Series 2 came out as it did was due to the development of the line starting prior to casting being completed at the time of the initial release since they wanted everything to be ready and coming out prior to the movies release as part of the promo for it. It's also the reason for the young Rex and coeleophysis being in the line (though the second was also due to the Compy being a bit to small for an initial release and needing a swarm to make sense. I used to really like Kenner because most of my family still lives around Cincinnati, for a while, when I was a kid, I lived across the street from someone who designed things for them early on but that was prior to JP or Aliens there when my family moved
I didn’t know most of this information but that aside I’m gutted I never really got into the toy line back in the day even though the movies are some of my favourites ever
The figures are so cool, I was more of a figure guy than Dino guy with the toys but the dinos definitely what got me into collecting them more back in the day. Thanks for watching!
Female figures don't sell as well as male figures. Especially back in the 90s when it was mainly kids collecting the toys not adult collectors. A figure of a little girl would not have flown off the shelves.
@3:28 Stop rewind: notice the Tim toy is the book version he's the older brother and Lex was just the annoying little sister in the book. They were very right not to do a Lex with the knowledge they had. Also very wise not to do Kelly either since Spielberg just combines Kelly and Arby into the same person then nonsensically makes her Malcolm's "daughter" (adopted clearly we know what mixed kids look like) which makes it even weirder he feels this need to be around her instead of her actual father, which geez that gets dark and racist on Spielberg's part real fast.
It was a lovely✨️time to browse the toy isles...🤘🏼💯✔️
I had some of the 1993 toys. Loved the dilophosaurus.
Sorry but the Coelophysis are not Compys.

I loved the Green car and was always waning the explorer Jeep and never got it but let’s be honest that T-Rax was top class because of the skin feel
It's iconic! So much they have brought it out again for the 30th anniversary in the new style! Love it. Thanks for watching!
The Kenner lines were perfect. I miss the rubber dinosaurs
absolutely perfect, hasn't been beaten yet in my opinion. thanks for watching

Thank goodness Universal did pull the license. Hasbro completely squandered that IP.

Thansk for watching! Appreciate it!
1000% Nostalgia
So much nosyalgia those things😊
I've collected them in the 90s, played with it like crazy. Still have them all including the command center 😊
Great toys to keep!
Really nice put together video Paul. Enjoyed that . :)
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. More to come!
Fun and entertaining video, Paul.
Love the Jurassic Park movies and appreciate the action figure toyline, but I simply don't have the room, for all of the Dinosaurs! :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Same here, run out of room! Would love to just have JP as a collection but I want so much more stuff! 😫
Thanks for this video!
My pleasure!
Compies and Coelophysis are not the same animal.
Kenner was an amazing toy company
Yeah it was! Once hasbro bought them out it kind of went down hill. Thanks for watching

Great video! Loved these toys as a kid
Same here! They just cant be beaten and still to this day rock!
Cool stuff
Thanks dude
I had that damaged T-Rex and that velociraptor. I miss those figures so much...
They are great! You can always buy then again in store! www.thetoyscavenger.com 😅
i so wish i had taken better care of mine. With all the moving around i did, and due to reckless, mine were lost. I did get the new '93 classic grant and malcom though recently.
Good buys! I haven't had the chance yet.

I remember I had the car and a few other things when I was young and my aunt gave them away. Crazy..
So much was just given away or sold! So many lost memories
I've just subscribed. I used to have a few of toys including the velociraptor and dilophosaurus. Simple times tbh. Btw awesome video 👍🔥😀
Thanks for the sub!
The young T-rex is still one of the best dino toys put out TO THIS DAY, change my mind (you can't)
You can't! It really is! I don't think any dino has come close even the new stuff
I saw this at a drive inn and it was raining a little bit and we had a similar vehicle
Are they still in stock?
There is some JP bits, it's ever changing so always have a look
I have the rare Jurassic Park chaos effect lycaenops
I didn’t know most of this information but that aside I’m gutted I never really got into the toy line back in the day even though the movies are some of my favourites ever

It's a shame we didn't get a big rubber brachiosaurus
There is one from jurassic world from Mattel
''one of their most popular toylines, Star Wars'' ah. THEIR MOST POPULAR toyline.
Star Wars put them on the map, the rest is history

Peg warmer for sure, double pack Tim and Lex may of been a different story though!
the manufacturing cheapness of the Jurassic World dinosaurs on shelves today are disappointing.
yeah i think so too
