They did receive the tech data from the Russians for these rifles. Yugoslavia has vastly superior engineering capabilities and not being under Russia or Combloc they chose to develop their own design same for Czech. It was all about the 762x39 cartridge. The reason they didn’t Chrome line their barrels is that they know that these are more accurate this way. They did and do have the ability to flash chrome as noted by their bolt carriers, bolts and gas pistons. Their barrels RC is super hard. Many don’t realize but hot soapy water down the barrels then cleaned, dried and oiled, your good to go. They are one of the most accurate AK’s ever produced.

Sorry, but Yugoslavia had chromium minds at that time. One in Macedonia, one in Bosnia and Hercegovina. The only reasons why don`t use chromium in production are low cost and fast building.

@Proteus Armament Great video, I just installed an OG BHO lever today and posted a video:
    ruclips.net/video/EvBfcXMVAKc/видео.html
I theorize very few OG levers survived as they were cut during demill? I was lucky to find one.
As for night sights; my understanding is the painted phosphorus are older. I think sometimes the later tritium got on older M64’s during rearsenal, such as your slant break vs muzzle nut. I have refreshed my painted and tritium sights.
    Nice weld by the way!

Very nice! I agree with you as well but I also believe the bulk of them were removed during the rearsenal process. Is there any chance you could take detailed measurements and photos of the lever? Where did you manage to find it?

@@proteusarmaments5720 thanks! You could be right, the OG receiver stubs I’ve come across seem to still have the nut/screw intact. That’s what led me to my theory but I bet they took them out as well. Maybe a combo ;)
I lucked into it; a guy I trade with asked me the price for one and we came to an agreement. As for measurements; I could do that but I think there’s some floating around. Some people made repos a while ago and Brandon Hererra’s smith is planning to soon. As for pics I have a link in my description
