How do you not only get your dinner ready for when you get in, but also have your missus grind the salt and pepper on top of your dinner for you too??? Forget about brick laying tutorials, this is something you can't teach. 😂
What can't be overstated is the importance of a nice mortar mix. Nothing like half frozen mortar in the winter or dried out mortar in the summer to make you day a misery.
See that church? Your great grandfather helped build that almost 80 years ago. He was a stonemason, the old man. Came over from Avellino with four dollars in his pocket.
sun cream an important tool ! bricklayers rarely wore gloves but you now realise how important they are hands exposed to the sun every day results in not a lot of fun having shit cut out !take note youngens !
Hey I work in illinois I am a tuckpointer I do restoration just curious do you guys have the same or do bricklayers hold same bricklayers here so mainly new construction tuckpointers do restoration caulking grinding pointing vertical concrete
We reject defective bricks i.e. chipped, stained or cracked bricks! You wouldn't want your house built with rubbish bricks. You wouldn't believe the amount that get thrown away!
Love you way you put them bricks down but one question I have is in 20 odd years or so will they be easier to knock down than someone who does the 3 point mucking on the end of bricks 🤔 😏
Nah. I was taught 4 points... down, top, back, face. Makes no difference if you are toothing out or removing bricks from a wall say for installing a steel. Once you get the bed above out and the first brick the rest pop out with the tap of a hammer until you get to the course below and then you need to take out the first perp/head joint then the bricks will pop out faster than you can lay them but the smallest 3mm blob of gear can grip and give you a headache abit like a rock climbers anchor. Youll be smashing the brick out before you know it!😂
Hi Charlie, how do I get in touch with you? Tendering for a project in London NW3 and as we are based in West Yorkshire it would be good to get you on board, kind regards

I wish I used a bell when I was bricklaying, because I spent more time looking for tools and it cost me money. Oh Charlie, look into callisthenics training. All it is, is push up, pull ups, dips and squats. Get savage results from it.
Definitely different laying overhand think I’ve only had to do it a couple times honestly. We just always setup the conventional way is all great work I wish I could come over an learn some tips an tricks from you all most of the masons over here in the states are slobs an 🥾’s
