We would love to do recordings, but we don't have the funding. If you'd like to see us to recordings of these works in the future, donate now at www.cantoncomicopera.com
Not sure if you're still looking for a recording of this 4 months later, but the Comic Opera Guild makes a boatload of recordings of operetta scores including Algeria/Rose of Algeria (though only with two pianos as musical accompaniment) and has info on how to order these CDs on their website.
Holly Hobgoblin Thanks for responding. I've been to the COG website quite a few times and while I've been tempted, I'm just not interested in two-piano arrangements, especially of Herbert's scores. He was such a master of vocal writing and orchestration. I'll just have to win a pot and donate to CCO.
+jimsher9880 We agree with you completely! Recordings of these works with piano don't capture how Herbert meant these scores to be heard. The Canton Comic Opera Company is dedicated to producing all our operettas with full orchestras playing the original orchestrations.
Why aren't you doing recordings like Ohio Light Opera? I'd love to have a CD of this. Now expand that orchestra and get your fannies into that studio!
