You know you are old when you look back at the first Sonic game and recall all the times you got killed, didn't collect the chaos emeralds due to the difficultly, or just had a hard time making it through the levels. A trip down memory land is always so fun.
The creativity of platform, enemy, music, design, power ups, the rings, the boss fights. Its genious, its timeless, its fun and it is designed for every kind of player. I cant stress enough how much i genuinely adore this game
Why did the sonic experience become so focused on speed,the original has such a great exploration element. I always focused on getting 100 rings per level plus the sonic 1 up. Respect to you for nailing all the emeralds!

Starlight Zone will always be my favorite level. Next would be Marble Zone. All of them were awesome but my least favorite is Labyrinth Zone! 😡 that music when you’re running low on oxygen revved up my anxiety, so it did it’s job.

I actually blew Eggman up one time on the Labyrinth Zone Act 3 "boss fight". No one believes me, but I did. It is extremely difficult though. You almost had it there too.

Personally, I prefer the Blue Sphere-style special stages over these ones. These special stages aren't a good way to handle them, as its absurdly tedious trying to do anything accurately if you weren't skilled at them.

You don't have to get the emeralds to beat this game.
You know you could access lvl select and set the emerald count to7 and become super sonic after getting the final emerald
This is original game, not 2013 remastered, so there's no 7th emerald
