Seriously, this scene reflects the "perfect day" for lots of us. I could spend all my days writing and delivering letters, walking enjoying every element of nature and form of life, visiting friends, watching the sunset, talking to animals and feel protected by them. My own cabin, my own days, quiet and perfect days...
"The rain has moved on And left a new day Nothing seems to move everything is still It's just a perfect day The shadows and light That move with the wind Hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray Just another perfect day On the wild and misty hillside Fear is nature's warning Hunger here is never far away And all of this world Is for children who play Days that never end always should remain Another perfect day"
I’m not gonna lie, as a black kid growing up in the projects of the Washington DC suburbs in the 90’s I used to think my mom and sisters were a little weird for liking this particular movie. In some ways I guess it made sense she did raise us in strict Christian faith and always done things to shield us from things happing around us in some of the neighborhoods we lived. I was in denial, but the intro and this ending credits always stuck with me lol. So I always remember the one with the Rolly Polly pudding that featured the cats and mouse lol. But was that a separate story of the film, wasn’t there another one? My mother is in her 60’s and stills holds on to all the old vhs tapes we watched as kids lol
I walked through this village called Near Sawrey and had lunch at the Tower Bank on a balmy Summer Day. This video and the wonderful voice of Miriam Stockley brings that day back again. ❤
Sooo nostalgic to see this again. My daughter and I used to love watching this when she was little. Thanks so much for posting this version from the TV programme.
Haven't listened to this song at all after watching the show when I was little but would always play back the song in my head over the years. Loved watching this show as a kid and always wished to stroll through a town/ village like this someday ... after the rain has passed of course :)
I had the lucky privilege to watch the only three VHS copies at my local library back in my early childhood in the 2000s- this is what introduced me to Beatrix Potter and probably saved me from a lot of dark days.
I saw this production back in my childhood in the 90s when I was Little Hallingbury Primary School kid age. Broadcasted on the TV screen which was recorded onto video.
i absolutley adore beatrix potters stories, they were a big part of my childhood growing up and I especially loved this tv series, just hearing this music puts chills down my spine. ever so often i will come back to rewatch this series and reread all the stories again
I moved from the English countryside to Australia when I was 10 years old. I used to watch this as a teenager and also when my daughter was young, and it still has me feeling nostalgic.
I used to watch this great show when it was on TV years ago and fell instantly in love with this song. Later on I was lucky enough to download it somewhere off the internet and I put it on a compilation CD I made myself of songs I love but I have no idea where it is now. I guess I'm stuck to listening to it online only.
x I paint her illustrations on to stones since lockdown because I used to really enjoy watching this with my Nana a long time ago. Turbulent home life, my Nana’s were my secure bases xxx
Same here. Different world back then. Different times. Bill Clinton was president and there was no social media. No cell phones. Things were cheaper and simpler. I had all these Beatrix Potter movies on VHS tapes and I used to watch them in bed on Sunday mornings.
The rain has moved on And left a new day Nothing seems to move, everythin' is still It's just a perfect day The shadows and light that move with the wind Hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray Just another perfect day On the wild and misty hillside Fear is nature's warning Hunger here is never far away And all of this world is for children who play Days that never end always should remain Another perfect day
This takes me back to being a child in the 90s
SAME! I used to watch this all the time. ❤
Same here ❤

I would feel happy to do all these things too.

Such a beautiful memory of this show ❤️ Intro and ending both magical
This takes me back to my childhood..approx 1995 to 1997 👸🏼☕💕🫖💐🐇✨🦢🌺😽

Love this so much
Miriam Stockley is my favourite singer.
It's cute to see Peter drinking the leftover tea after Potter leaves to mail the letter.
Love this classic show and song, beautiful vocals ❤️🙏
J'adorrrr. 🤲💝🙏
I swear there's a version where she gets one of the children to help her post the letter & he does!!!
This version you are talking about is seen in the last episodes
The rain has moved on
And left a new day
Nothing seems to move, everythin' is still
It's just a perfect day
The shadows and light that move with the wind
Hidden violets grow splashed with summer spray
Just another perfect day
On the wild and misty hillside
Fear is nature's warning
Hunger here is never far away
And all of this world is for children who play
Days that never end always should remain
Another perfect day
I watched this movie so long time ago.I'm very happy because i found it.
