Great video, great people, great pilots. Thanks God all of you are alive. An icredible experience that join people as brother of the same spiritual awake.
"Burning Goose Flesh" ...................... It smelled like Thanksgiving! "The Miracle on the Hudson" is a tribute to the actions of this well trained and highly skilled. Happy to see the aircraft preserved in Charlotte, NC. I think that's a fitting place. Overjoyed that everyone survived.
It's quite repulsive to hear Sully boast his incompetence. The simple truth is he had plenty of energy to return to the LaGuardia and there were no tall buildings on the path and there was water before the runway assuming that was a reasonable place to set down. After the bird strike he flew twice the distance he needed to return. He failed spectacularly. I have also tried it in simulation multiple times and even with significant hesitation there is enough energy to return.
@Corey McDonald 35 second delay is in no way reasonable for a pilot. the investigation cowardly placated the foul national pride of declaring him a hero. notice they avoid any details of those tests and outcomes in the report to skirt the obvious truth. He erred, USA erred. Deal with it.
@Corey McDonald that's status quo sheep mentality. A thoughtless need to defend a societal norm when instead you could think. He gravely erred. It's a certainty.
