yall talking about how hot he is and all that.. but im over here fascinated by the way he talks and his struggles..he is a true intellectual..im truly in awe..what a brilliant actor and person..
It’s a stunning and humbling revelation to learn this searingly charismatic man should have doubts about his talent. His honesty is a revelation. And no, so far as I know, we’re not related. Yet from the moment I saw him years ago in “Beggars and Choosers” I was enthralled by his beauty and talent. What a gift that he’s in the remake of “Boys in the Band,” a script that’s enthralled me for decades. Wonderful piece on him. What honesty, what sincerity. Love you, Tuc. You’re what makes life worth living.
I'm really glad I watched this. I had only seen him in 'The Mummy' and liked his performance there quite a bit so when I saw he was going to be in 'TBITB' movie I looked forward to seeing him there. At 66 I remember the first movie well and to me his rendition of Hank was spot on, possibly even a bit preferable. I wish Mr. Rannells and he all the best going forward.
So important for his story to be told as well as those of other successful gay actors, the majority of whom worked for years before coming out, i.e. Neil Patrick Harris, Jim Parsons and Matt Bomer. Personally I'd love to see a round table series with these actors, combined with those of the generation before them, and with the new generation. There are so many topics they could cover--coming out, discrimination, allies, achieving success, among others. I'm sure it would be compelling to watch.
@@enzomartinez8083 -- I think because he is best known as a soap opera actor rather than as a primetime television or movie actor his profile is not as high as let's say Neil Patrick Harris, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer or Luke Evans each of whose coming out publicly caught a lot of people's attention. He definitely let everyone know when he joined the out gay cast of the stage revival of The Boys in the Band a few years ago. It was during this time that he met his current partner Andrew Rannells of Book of Mormon fame who I don't believe was ever not out. As I mentioned in my original comment, I think his story and that of other actors like him are important. That they were able to forge successful careers given the likely bias and discrimination they faced is a testament to not only their talent but also their tenacity to make it in the entertainment industry.
@@ML-xh6rd yeah, you're right, it's very difficult to do that, coming out and still have a good career not for you sexual orientation which is a part of you, but you, your work, you dedication...
I remember watching Tuc Watkins in The Mummy. Of all the characters who met terrible ends in that movie, I felt the worst for Tuc Watkins character. When he's blinded, loses his tongue and is eventually killed. I felt so bad. I think it's because Tuc gave the character a relatable or somewhat redeemable nature. Great acting.
You are a terrific, talented artist, Thank you for sharing (you were heart breakingly vulnerable in "Boys in the Band") Thank you. Michael - South Africa,
Go to search bar and type in "Tuc Watkins shirtless". WOOF! I wonder if the three guys in the gym scene and the hunk who's always in teh shower for TTB are also gay ?
I really liked him in "Retake" (ruclips.net/video/UTdinJVNTIY/видео.html) and didn't realize he was in the new "Boys In The Band" which I've been avoiding because, duh, the 1970 original is perfect! Maybe now I'll give it a try.
This guy is the total package. The real deal. He is articulate as he is handsome. I'll bet he is a great dad too. Andrew Rannells, he is a keeper!
So is Andrew they’re perfect for eachother

I just finished Boys in The Band. It made me cry a lot. Hank (Tuc Watkins) is a breathtaking male specimen. X
Sameeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. And I found out he's actually real life partner of his on screen parter my heart was filled with joy.

the sound qulity on this interview is not the best. it sounds muffled and "blurry". maybe a better mic & acoustic would help.
