Burlington 1819 is just heavenly to me. The bright sparkling grapefruit opening merging into that clean musky cumin which evolves into the rum and saffron later on... I just love smelling it as it lifts my mood every time. Thanks for including it❤(but shouldn't be surprised cause I got it from your recommendation😁🤜🤛)
My unicorn fragrance is… Mancera Cedrat Boise 🌟 - Versatile (any season, day or night) - I love how it smells and so do others around me - high quality to my nose - unique (has a familiar scent profile being similar to Aventus but I’ve never actually smelt this on anyone) - performs great especially for a fresh scent
1) Hypnotizing Fire Parfum (or EDP) with Creed Viking layered on top is one of my favorite layering combos. 2) Oud Satin Mood with GFS on top is phenomenal as well. GFS has this inexplicable versatility. 3) Byredo Super Cedar with Renaissance layered on top (Casamorati Mephisto also works extremely well) just absolutely blasts what I would consider the best citrus opening I've ever come across (I also get phenomenal performance from it on its own) Some of my Unicorn Scents (Quality, + Performance (on my skin) and Versatility) that you didn't already note 1) Reflection Man 2) Lafayette St 3) Imagination by LV (given I live in SoCal so our winters are most people's warm spring) 4) A tie (especially because they make one of my favorite layering combo's I've ever concocted) Mind Games Gambit and French Defense 5) Nishane Hacivat 6) Stefanno Ricci Royal Eagle Red (Emphasis on the RED) 7) PdM Haltane (I get that a lot of people will argue against this but it edges out Percival, I have worn it in every type of occasion and season and it always receives positive attention) 8) BVLGARI Tygar 9) Jusbox Cheeky Smile 10) Initio Rehab
@@AZK82 structurally it is very similar to PdM Carlisle, but instead of the Apple gourmand focus it has that pimento and spice/clove. It is almost like part Carlisle, Part Herod, part Haltane. All in all it is a pretty unique fragrance. Penhaligon’s liquid love has “some” similarities, MAB B683 kind of… Amouage’s Interlude 53. Simone Andreoli Born from fire… but these are all just “kind of” similar.
Well done 👍🏿...looking for "unicorns" is the only reason, these days, why I'm still in this fragrance game...but I'm nearing the end as I downsize my collection to only my favourites/unicorns... Looking forward to a part 2
Fragrances that fit the topic for me: MAB Ganymede MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver Hermès Voyage Parfum NR Bleu Noir EDP Givenchy Gentleman edt Intense Mont Blanc Explorer MFK Amyris Homme edt AdG Profumo
Love the narration and voice. And the chill vibe. Makes me enjoy the videos even just woke up or before bed. The content is superb and honest. Not "hype" lists, is more a understanding every scent and thoughtful criticism and suggestions. Cheers! The editing is top notch without screaming and screttchy noises ❤
Ngl, so happy you mentioned DH 2020. That fragrance does the same for me and it’s my signature scent. I’ve commented on your past videos on it. I can never stop singing its praises. My wife loves it, I get numerous compliments from it, I’ve yet to come across anybody else wearing it, it’s versatile (IMO), people I know associate me with the scent; and contrary to what many say, it’s long lasting on my skin.
@@jasonburke4724 I get that. I was introduced to the Homme line starting with the 2020 version (I’m still “young” to the fragrance game) and prefer it over the previous ones. And I think the iris is nice. But, IMO, the scent profile now is more fitting for its name (Homme= man) than its predecessors which I find to be more unisex.
Ah yeah, I'm old school, so it was an insult to me to put that in the homme line. Dhi is almost the perfect scent to me. But I'd still love to see a 2020 edp or parfum, i think it'll just get too confusing if they try to do that now
It’s called Dior Homme because Dior reimagined what the modern Dior Man smells like. It got an update basically. They felt this scent best represents the Dior Man. Thankfully Homme Intense keeps the signature iris that started the Homme line
@MrMelonMan96 or have the balls to release it in a new line where it belongs. Yes, thankfully, DHI is still around, though. What if they do a 2020 intense?
I just bought a bunch of Spring/Summer/Early Autumn fragrances - HAWAS, Missoni Wave, a couple of D&G etc, among the haul I got a bottle of Intense Cedrat Boisee, it's a WOW, not sure it smells like a unicorn but I'm in love, definitely a 10/10 and for me checks all your boxes. I think it's going to be my new signature.
I think I only have 5 10/10 (also unicorn) fragrances in my collection. Ganymede, Layton, Reflection Man, Gambit, and Another 13. The way I feel when I wear them is hard to describe! Love them
absolutely I want to see more videos this kind! I like your fragrance rating system and that you have separated this unicorn thing from your 1 to 10 system! this gives another view for me to gategorize my fragrance collection ! 😎
Great video and great choices Justin! As far as my 5 unicorn fragrances go 1. Nasomatto Fantomas 2. Abaton Chinotto Dark 3. Frank Boclet Cocaine 4. Roja Turandot 5. Bond No 9 Dubai Amethyst
Dubai amethyst is a beast! Try Bond No.9. I Love New York For All. Women give me compliments all the time! You walk around smelling like creamy caramel/coffee
Gentle fluidity silver will be my dumb reach/signature i was torn between that and argos pour homme…i got a travel size of MFK been wearing for two weeks big bottle worthy
DH 2020 didn’t do it for me at first but I recently wore it again after letting it macerate for months and it’s beautiful and doing something to me now.
WoW 😮 Such A Truly Amazing Collection Indeed ❣️ Morgan Freeman Of FraG Universe Did It Again 😊 So Glad To See Gynamede Here & Also ROJA Burlington Which I Finally Bought For My Birthday Few Days Ago 🥳 Can't Wait Now 😎 3:30
Solid video, Justin! You're doing a phenomenal job interacting with the community, rather than addressing 'your audience'. That makes you stand out, in addition to your deep knowledge!
Completely agree with DH 2020. Can't put my finger on what it is that I love about it, but every time I wear it I wind up wondering why I don't wear it more often
I adore it! I've got five from your list, and I wholeheartedly agree with your descriptions. Can't wait to discover more unicorn fragrances because I'm certain there will be a few. Unicorn fragrances are perfect for beginners, incredibly versatile throughout the year. I appreciate your detailed descriptions without resorting to clichés like "penny drops" or "compliment getter." Your reviews genuinely delve into what makes each fragrance unique, focusing on notes and their effects. Thank you for your insightful reviews!
I think I’ve picked up two unicorns recently. Armani code parfum and Prada lomme leau… and before you ask…. Yes! I will wear lomme leau in the winter. Fight me lol. Edit: agree whole heartedly about Ganymede
Agree with Ganymede and Dior Homme, however for me somehow 40 Knots works wonders all year round. Next one on the list is Enclave and Tygar. Tried the samples, blown away by the scent profiles ❤
Justin turned me onto gentle fluidity silver. I never regretted it, although! It lasts 3-4 hours on me in spring/summer maybe an hour more. OMG, does it smell, devine! Try it. The juniper berry note alone is worth it!
Mine is Michael malul citizen Jack absolute, lasts 12+ hours on skin and can wear it in the middle of February at night or august in the middle of the day (just use a bit less in summer bc of how strong it is)
Love it. Interesting picks. I get the choices. My top picks from your list would be Gentle Fluidity Silver (9), Renaissance (9.5) and Beach Hut Man (11/10 works even in high summer). With Hermes and in Dubai weather even in winter I'd go Eau Givree instead of EDT. I get your choice of Dior 2020 though it doesn't do anything for me. Gaymede is lovely but I don't think it fits here, very polarizing. I haven't smelled town and country yet. I remember I really liked Burlington when I smelled it 2 yrs ago. Instead of Viking I would grab Bois Du Portugal also from Creed. Finally, we still don't have Zaharof perfumes here in Dubai.
My Unicorn Fragrance is Blonde Amber by Clive Christian. I don’t know so much about Versatility. I’ve never tried wearing it in Summer. Regardless it’s definitely a 10/10 and it’s my favorite.
This was a cool concept for a video I really enjoyed it! My unicorns are Bois Imperial; 19 Degree; TDH Intense Vetiver; Narcisco Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP. Kerosene Follow and Royal Incense are almost there but in S.F. they’re more of a 9 or 10 month scent in my opinion.
I hung out to the end since you shamed me for missing the last couple videos. Great video. I don’t layer much but I accidentally crossed Viking and TDH Pure Parfum and I was blown away how they elevate each other. Maybe it will elevate them from 10’s to 11’s for you.
Just picking the first in my collection that comes to mind, according to Justin's definition: Unicorn = Bentley for Men Black Edition; 10/10 = Orto Parisi Boccanera.
You are my favorite reviewer but tagging Ganymede a 9.5 when DH2020 is a 10 hurts worse than Grace and her sister bashing Prada Lhomme 😂 Love the video concept as its really fresh. Proud to be a Fresh Lounge member (despite the Ganymede score because Burlington 1819 got a 10 😅) Keep it up JC!
Might not be a popular choice, but Kalan would be at the top of my list. Vertus Monarch and Oud Noir, Oud Wood, Wet Stone, too. Just got Bois 1920 Parana, and Megamare. From one wearing each, I could see them both making the list. Megamare is living up to the hype.
Hey Justin, thanks for the video. I would like a part 2 if you’ve got more to share. However, I do wonder what Custin’s unicorn list would be … Also, I really do appreciate your messaging around everyone deciding for themselves what they do and don’t like, but we do tune in because we respect your opinion and hold it in high regard. I would be interested in you having an episode flushing out your concept of “vibe” as much as you can. Best J
Dior Homme Intense does it for me too. Almost every Dior does it for me but I guess DHI is my unicorn. Louis Vuitton Imagination is a unicorn too, a fragrance you can wear all dat long all year long. But the price puts me off a bit. But that wasn’t a parameter right 😂
The other thing that would make something a unicorn for me is price. Town & country may be a good scent(it actually has a lot more than 3 ingredients) but if it's mega expensive then I feel reluctant to wear it, especially if I only have a 10 mill bottle, which goes to availability
We have some similar taste but your taste are a little more classic/gentlemanly than mine. Very masculine fresh list. I see u enjoy minty freshness and that classic citric freshness.
Justin, I love your bold, unapologetic ways and creativity. Thank you for such great recommendations, Brotherman! You are becoming a bit legendary in the fragrance community. Just so it does not go to your head, God gave you GRACE to keep you humble. Cheers!🎉 Amazing attention to detail on your channel. 🙌🏼
Not sure if it’s just me but sometimes the name of the fragrance makes a difference. For example gentle fluidity silver makes me feel fluid and go with the flow. I usually wear it while boxing as it reminds me to stay loose. I can’t help but feel the name contributes to my perception of how it affects me. Lovely fragrance, one of my only full bottles.
Great video and selection. I agree that Gentle Fluidity Silver is a Unicorn. I'm on the fence about Burlington 1819. To me, it smells very similar to Tygar, which I own. I feel it would be rather redundant. Your thoughts?
Burlington is more complex than Tygar for me, and I prefer Burlington a little more. But if you feel they are redundant after trying both, that’s what matters most.
Seeing Ganymede on this list, really kind of confirms my thoughts about celestial and that there’s no way celestial is truly approaching the profile of the OG it’s missing some crucial pieces and I have never even smelled the OG
When I started watching this video, the only fragrance I thought it could make this list for me out of over the 100 different ones I have was Dior Homme 2020...funny it was your first pick.
Love my Creed fragrances! A few years ago I put on Viking after a shower. Just two sprays and for some reason my fragrances are really powerful and project after I shower. I went to Subway for a sandwich and while the young lady prepared my sandwich I was thinking, man, all I smell is Viking all around me so I know she smells it. I was hoping it wasn’t bothering her. Several seconds later she says, “ you smell REALLY good!” Love that Dior Homme 2020 as well!
Great video Justin, solid idea brought with passion and a solid 10 out of 10 vibe 😉 It is hard for me to join in on the fun, since I like the specificity of fragrances too much to seek out the generality instead. I do own quite a few of the unicorns you mentioned, yet I never considered them ‘just’ that. The idea of a signature scent feels like an obligation to me. I like options and vacillations 😉
Justin I was expecting you to add relative scarcity or lack of easy accessibility as part of the criteria 😅 but I was surprised when you mentioned CREED VIKING right from the start, which to me is NOT a Unicorn!😅 (apologies!) ... It's a good - if not great- perfume (a Fougere, after all). But great fragrances anyway. Thanks a lot. My regards to Madam Grace. Have a great weekend ahead. 😊
I love how often you include “women’s” fragrances. Let’s me know masculine men can enjoy and sport frags that aren’t necessarily marketed toward that shallow tough guy persona
I am confused, I have been subscribed to your channel for a very long time. You are one of the few fragrance youtubers left that I consider non bias and combining both the objective and subjective in a way that implements logic and reason. Opening this video it said that I wasn't subscribed. A bug?
Hey! I just tried Carolina Herrera Bad Boy Le Parfum and I somehow liked it alot.. it felt good and I enjoyed it alot when I wore it so I ordered a bottle from discount.. But my question here is that do you know the fragrance, and do you have any suggestions or recommendations in niche perfumery that goes to same herbal direction that Bad Boy Le parfum and gives something maybe more? This fragrance gave me such a good vibe and I had to have it in my collection😃. but I feel it can be more complex and complete, so I turn to you for advice :D
@@stayfreshproductions okay! The Le Parfum got my attention and the note of cannabis gave something interestingly green to the scent 🤔. Herbal vibes. And I thought in the niche realm there must be a fragrance that takes this kind a scent to the "next level".. or maybe not 😁. I thought you might have experience. I haven't smelled any fragrance with a note of cannabis before.
@stayfreshproductions can you do a “beast mode” “powerful” fragrance video? The top 10 best for 10+hours longevity, 8+ hours projection, 2+ days on clothes… example starting with Initio etc etc…
... So based on your criteria, my Unicorn will definitely be CREED AVENTUS batch Z😅!... One of my wildest dreams! Then Tom Ford Tobacco Oud (I dropped my vintage bottle 😢, and it's gone! Now I can't find it where I live, and if I do, I'm possibly not gonna afford it!... May be).
I got the same feeling for Jeroboam Ambra Davidoff cool water intense . Ormonde Jayne man . Ambra Aurea Jaipur EDT Boucheron I think my brain is addicted to amber and ambergris 😂
I love the concept, and would call these enchanting fragrances, as they have a unique attraction to you, rather than unicorn fragrances, which conventionally implies they are rare or one of a kind not readily available. Of course you clearly defined a unicorn fragrance and then gave fragrances that meet that particular definition. But since the feeling they give the wearer is such a strong part of the definition, a word that suggests a strong element of allure or captivation would seem to better fit the definition without having to refer back to your specific definition of unicorn. 🦄
Guess im a real one lol💯, cool to see you also have dh2020 as your unicorn, its also a 10/10 for me, it could really just be the only fragrance a man needs imo, everytime i wear it i just think to myself “why am i still collecting, this is it” and its crazy how it just smells so “dior” 😂, great stuff bro!, also royale x, 100% agree, my gf acc said it smells like “dior homme but on another level”
I don’t know if I fully understand. Are you asking if I ever were the same fragrance more than one day in a row? Or if I do or do not wear a fragrance everyday?
All of them. Depend on your daily routing and work place. But mostly all of them are year around. Dior homme 2020 is safe all year no mater what the situation you are in.
When something is associated with unicorn, I personally expect it to be unique, which, in a way, is just the opposite of "versatile ". So I would definitely like to see you real "unicorns".
@@stayfreshproductions I see your point, maybe because versatile is more associated with crowdpleasing, not offensive, all occasions appropriate which to some extent interferes with being unique. But never mind, love your videos.
Burlington smells exactly like Jo Malone grapefruit. But Jo Malone costs 1/4th of the price and lasts 70-80% as long. Was NOT impressed with Burlington
I hope you’re enjoying the video!
I’ve seen several comments saying that I’m using the term unicorn “incorrectly”…and to that I say: I get it. Thanks.

Good stuff here. Video idea, Grace’s favorite scents on you.
I just add Gentle Fluidity this week! I love the stuff!
It's so good!
Haha!
Ganymede and Oud For Greatness… Solid masterpiece..👌🏾
I get that Vibe thing. Some frags just… make you flippin happy.
Which Viking the cologne version or the OG?
@@dariusbush7991 the OG
Great video Justin, solid idea brought with passion and a solid 10 out of 10 vibe 😉 It is hard for me to join in on the fun, since I like the specificity of fragrances too much to seek out the generality instead. I do own quite a few of the unicorns you mentioned, yet I never considered them ‘just’ that. The idea of a signature scent feels like an obligation to me. I like options and vacillations 😉
My unicorn is Aqua Di parma Note Di Colonia II
Loved this video. 💯💯. This was 🔥.
This was a fun video!
Thanks John!
I love how often you include “women’s” fragrances. Let’s me know masculine men can enjoy and sport frags that aren’t necessarily marketed toward that shallow tough guy persona
Justin, how about doing another video of this. Maybe a designer version and a niche version?
I’ll consider that!
I am confused, I have been subscribed to your channel for a very long time. You are one of the few fragrance youtubers left that I consider non bias and combining both the objective and subjective in a way that implements logic and reason. Opening this video it said that I wasn't subscribed. A bug?
Interesting…it could be a bug, unless you were somehow how viewing while logged out of your account?
Unfortunately I haven’t tried it! The Bad Boy collection hasn’t interested me too much.
I don’t know if I’ll do that video! But I’ve done videos like that before.
May be).
Lets Go Baby... The Gold Chain is Back!!!
We should protect this man at all cost ✨
I got the same feeling for Jeroboam Ambra
Davidoff cool water intense .
Ormonde Jayne man .
Ambra Aurea
Jaipur EDT Boucheron
I think my brain is addicted to amber and ambergris 😂
My unicorn fragrance is aventus cologne
As soon as I heard that tune from The Sims I had to like the video!!!
Haha thanks!
Hey Justin wld u be open to doing a street review of a few of your fragrance loves to see what they wld rate it?
Probably not. So many of those have been made! And they’re a lot of work.
@@stayfreshproductions Right!I understand.
Thank you for watching!
Hey Justin, how do you feel about Zaharoff's Black Rose?
It’s lovely
My no 1 unicorn is Ganymede. Hands down.
Question: Do you typically wear fragrances day after day. Or rather do you *not* leave your abode without a few sprays of ____ (insert fragrance)
I don’t know if I fully understand. Are you asking if I ever were the same fragrance more than one day in a row? Or if I do or do not wear a fragrance everyday?
Question…
How long did it take you to pick these scents for this video ???
Like an hour
Omar from School of Scent will be very happy for 1819.
Which of these fragrances are nice for men age 40?
All of them. Depend on your daily routing and work place. But mostly all of them are year around. Dior homme 2020 is safe all year no mater what the situation you are in.
I see "fragrances" and "performance" and I click right away!
When something is associated with unicorn, I personally expect it to be unique, which, in a way, is just the opposite of "versatile ". So I would definitely like to see you real "unicorns".
Why can't unique be versatile? 🤔
@@stayfreshproductions I see your point, maybe because versatile is more associated with crowdpleasing, not offensive, all occasions appropriate which to some extent interferes with being unique. But never mind, love your videos.
@@boryanaboycheva I understand where you’re coming from! Thank you for sharing your viewpoint.
My unicorn is Meander by Amouage
To me, a Unicorn fragrance is a highly sought after but difficult to find (usually discontinued) fragrance.
Joop! Homme Le Parfum. Let the hate begin!
Tiziana Terenzi Arethusa
There’s nothing like it.
Burlington smells exactly like Jo Malone grapefruit. But Jo Malone costs 1/4th of the price and lasts 70-80% as long. Was NOT impressed with Burlington
👌🏾
Nah bruh
Great list. Why does Ganymede remind me of a hospital? 😮
Sharp cold metallic feel it gives off.
It’s probably the suede and mineral notes!
Being a real one by watching the whole video! 🤑
Thank you!
I have two unicorns that most don’t know. Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy for him and Ralph Lauren Romance for Him
100k and beyond in 2024 🤲🏾
Thank you
Dior homme parfum in the summertime 😂😂
Wow, Justin in this video gets more scientific than ATH himself.
Me in science class 🤓
I love the list except Viking. Smells like an old man to me and Im no spring chicken😂
