It looks like they changed which ending is canon for the normal/hard modes in order to justify the existence of Nightmare, which is basically her haunting Senpai from the grave. Sad to see her die in desperatation, but we know now that Akira will never forget what happened that night for the rest of his life .....

Theory: What if a yandere demon is possessing Saiko? Like at the end, she screams out in pain and begging to be free. Like I think the only way for her to be free is to be killed. I mean look at her in the difficulties menu, and look at her eyes. They glow when she goes into Yandere mode. Don’t you think a demon is possessing her and we as the player, wind up being stuck in a school as the demons influence is effecting the entire building?…Just a thought.

I will say, just because you disarmed her doesn’t mean she doesn’t have other methods of killing you, even while incapacitated she might try to put some effort into an attempt.
SpinalWall16589 Well, it’s common sense to still be on high alert especially that she can use the shards to still kill the person. But playing it psychologically might have an effect on her. Act of kindness or love or etc. might do the trick. We are battling in psychological ground after all. As far as we know, male strength is still slightly superior than of a woman’s in normal terms because of testosterone. So battling with the use of force tips towards the guy. Trying to help someone with personality disorder that they didn’t wish they had is still a priority imo, because I myself is going through that, sadly. And seeing that there is a glimmer of hope for her in this scenario, better take a chance to help rather than getting scarred for not trying.
@@valalkuino3123 Fear plays into a factor too. I would too be hesitant to help someone after several attempts of them trying to slash, gut, strangle, and decapitate me. Empathy is a strong emotion, but so is fear. Fear can take over almost any emotion in a situation due to fight or flight response. That's probably why Senpai just noped out of there. He wasn't taking his chances on helping someone who would've gotten the perfect opportunity to take him down with her. I don't blame him too much, yet he could've just idk dialed 911, or whatever the number for emergency services is in Japan. Nonetheless, I think he's already scarred and seen enough for a day. That man is gonna have permanent PTSD.

I like how Saiko’s character looks more polished than before, and the new dialogue. But poor Saiko in the end, that’s brutal… I wonder if any of the other modes have changes as well, or maybe their own cutscenes? Also, is this slender or something? I don’t really understand that diary.

Makes you really hope there's a redemption ending or something. I get that it's supposed to be scary and it would ruin it, but deep down most weebs hope she can be helped. Like finding pages of her diary or finding old lore bits in the school that tell you why she is the way she is.
Dependence to the point of sociopathic or murderous behavior doesn't just HAPPEN, and if you're the object of those affections, there was a trigger.

I agree. Horror games like this can have bad and scary endings but also sad and happy endings too. Take the Silent Hill franchise for example. It had good and bad endings depending on your choices.
In horror games, good endings are always the most rewarding because you went through hell and survived. Plus it leaves replay value as you can try it again to see how it ends if you do something else. Sometimes, games with only bad endings feel like a middle finger to your efforts of survival.
You're not wrong that it's supposed be scary and it would ruin the whole thing, but that's what multiple endings are for. So it shouldn't matter if you get the good ending or not. Just because it's scary doesn't mean it can't have a good ending.
Hell, you could even have a joke ending. Like those UFO Endings Silent Hill is known for. Or Silent Hill 2's Dog Ending. Or Silent Hill Downpour's Surprise Ending.
If Silent Hill can do it, so can Saiko no Sutoka.

Wow, what an unexpected update for the good ending to this game. It's weird though, with all the glass breaking she can do in the game, she gets done in by some glass she breaks in this scenario. But, then again, she might have been so focused on getting you that she didn't notice when going through? I don't know. Anyway, this is still an interesting update to see.
