Currently taking a AutoCAD course and your videos are saving me. Plan on taking your course once I have completed this one I am taking. Very appreciative of your videos, thank you!
This is helpful. But can you actually 'delete' or as you said "remove" and not just "hide" what you have clipped out, so that when I link or reference this into another file it doesn't bring this 'extraneous' info that I've clipped out with it? Thank you.
Just want to say thanks so much for all your videos, I had to learn AutoCAD for a project and you saved my a** :) Great way of explaining things, keep it up!
Actually came looking for something else, but I have very rarely ever used xRef in AutoCAD. Most places don't want to drawings xRefed. Mostly because a change here causes a change in who knows what drawing and do you want that change there too. Interesting stuff though. I might import something for pictorial purposes and exploded it so I can edit the geometry.
It is very important to take into account a clip or xclip is only a mask. if you do a dataextraction from the drawing you will get ALL the information including from items you do not see
Excellent, thank you. But how can I do two or more clips from a single drawing? After I take the first one the rest of the drawing is gone and I cannot take a clip from another part of the same drawing. Is there a way?
Buenas de nuevo, se puede explotar estas referencias y que solo el dibujo del clip de la refencia quede intacta y no el resto del dibujo de la refenencia??
P. Johnson asks a question that I believe is one everyone would like to know. "But can you actually 'delete' or as you said "remove" and not just "hide" what you have clipped out, so that when I link or reference this into another file it doesn't bring this 'extraneous' info that I've clipped out with it?" Very interested in getting an answer or another way of going a "DELETE all data outside a defined boundary"....
Very informative! Thanks a lot! Is there a way to edit or trim the block from content browser in AutoCAD architecture? I have tried xclip but it is ineligible for clipping, any help will be appreciated! Thanks!
Hello, Good day. I'm having a trouble on my CAD 3d Design. It seem's that everytime that i put the view om Hidden it will hang for about a minute and then some of my drawings disappear.

Use the XCLIPFRAME system variable 0 - The frame is not visible and it is not plotted 1 - The clipped xref frame is displayed and plotted 2 - The clipped xref frame is displayed but not plotted

Hi . Is there a way to collapse it ? I mean can you trim the plan and leave only what is visible when the clip is active ?

Great video, thanks for this information.

Is there a way to create a composite file with lots of xref clips to be how we see the Clipped view?
Did you choose overlay or attachment?

se puede explotar estas referencias o bloques y que solo el
dibujo del clip de la refencia quede intacta y no el resto del dibujo
de la refenencia??

Hmm, I'm not sure on that one. I don't use AutoCAD Architecture very often. It may not be possible to edit blocks from within the browser.
