  • 51,000 soldiers and one civilian died at the bloodiest battle of the Civil War. This makes Gettysburg one of the most haunted towns in Pennsylvania. What did this #ghostbuster find?

Your filming was awesome. Did I recognize the 360 camera when you were up on the rocks? I am happy that you didn't run into any big snakes. Thanks for the adventure, Dad.

You did recognize the 360. And that's awesome that you asked, because aside from my Pulpit/Pinnacle video, I'm trying to blend in 360 footage without overdoing it. Thanks for watching, Kate!

Been wanting to visit Sach’s bridge for awhile now after reading The Witch Cloud by Timothy Renner a native Lancaster County author, folklorist, musician, and artist who runs the Strange Familiars podcast (which I highly recommend) who in one of its episodes covered the history of this bridge, debunked some legends about it, and did a deep dive on stories of high strangeness associated with the bridge. Definitely on the bucket list when I visit Gettysburg again. Always appreciate a good Halloween episode and was the perfect mix of history and the supernatural!

And now I'm googling all of that! When I was 12 or so, my grandparents took us to Colonial Williamsburg. I was bored with the history and the architecture.... Until I bought a book in a gift shop about the ghosts of Williamsburg. Now, I looked up the legends of whatever house we were in and all of a sudden I was a Ghostbuster!!! I'm definitely going to look up that book and podcast - Thanks Cole!

for Devil's Den it's not the snakes you have to worry about it's the soldiers lol. day or night there are stories of people seeing/ talking with / hearing soldiers in the rocks ect. also cold spots, battery drainage the smell of tobacco, leather & wet wool. i spent alot of time in Gburge did a good share of ghost hunting also very active place. Love Sach's it's owned by the NPS so you can be there at any hour , great spot for the sunset, so the 3 soldiers that were hung would be in the very center of the bridge, seen pic's you would be able to see there heads tilted hands tied and feet tied (no shoes) in a blueish color dark figures outlining the bodies. out in the tree line you could see shadow figures, down the road past the pumping station the house was used as a field hospital. also going into the area below the dam can be a little scary. if you really want a erie walk go in July and on the 3rd walk Pickett's Charge at 1pm on the day and hour of the attack by yourself it's and experience , also next time try the area around Spangler Spring & Culp's Hill had good luck back in the day , last trip down was just some battery drainage and falling tree branches by the 2nd Mass monument

I gotta ask…what’s with the two loud knocks at 21:32 and 21:36?! They’re louder than your footsteps, louder than the camera/selfie stick clicks. 👻🎃 (Awesome vid, as per usual.)

the new walkway looks great at Devil's Den, lived in Gburg for a little while and go back when i can. this past year i was able to make 2 trips 1 for the 159th anniversary of the battle July 1-3 (keep in mind if you plan to visit at that time next year for the 160th book yr hotel / camp ground or RV park EARLY as it will be mobbed) then in Sept at Ike's Farm and the new WW2 American Experience Museum it's the big world war 2 weekend with encampments and a big USO dance , Gettysburg has history with both world war 1 & 2 from training camps and POW camps. (i was doing 551st PIB Operation Dragoon, AUG 44 Southern France). you really need a good week to be able to see a decent amount of stuff. a few tips if planning a visit 1) Read up on the history or watch some youtube video's (the Battlefield trust & History Underground has great info and video's. 2) Pick a few area's that most interest you and make time to see them(exp. Little Round Top / Devil's Den) 3) look up and visit your home state's monument (if there is 1) 4) look at reviews for all the restaurants in town as there so many to choose from (J&B in the Hills on youtube do some great video's on that) Federal Point Inn has a Pub in the basement you got too try the Boom Boom Sauce with your fries lol. 5) take time to walk around town stop in too all the shops talk with the locals ,if on the battlefield get out and explore some of the trails (1 warning DON"T GET CAUGHT IN THE FOG/MIST AT DUSK) the sunset's & sunrise on the battlefield our amazing esp Little Round Top & The Eternal Peace Flame. i hope you make it back to Gburg and explore it more

Thank you for all the information! Fascinating about the WWI & WWII stuff - I know there were bases and POW camps nearby in Michaux State Forest and Carlisle. I didn't realize Gettysburg as well.
I did visit my home state monument - the sunset footage was from the top of my Pennsylvania Monument. No fog this day!
2 years ago, the whole family came with me and we used a phone app linked to GPS to do a super informative driving tour of the battlefield. I knew parts of the story, but by driving along with the info, it really helped me stitch the pieces together in my mind. That app was called Gettysburg Battle Auto Tour play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.actiontourguide.gettysburg and I think the tour was like $6. So worth it! As was the cyclorama in the Visitor Center.
      Thank you for watching!!!
