I love this strong style SO MUCH!!!! Davey is my favourite wrestler, love his style! And Kyle is GREAT too!!!! This two - is amazing wrestlers. But Davey can wrestle with anybody and make at least good match. But this match is really awesome, I REALLY INSPIRED by Davey and Kyle. That's why i wrestle 7 years, because of ROH!!! And our "Ring Of Extreme" it's like "Ring Of Honor", but we are young and without a ring, but this is not a problem, we are good too. I really dream to join ROH.
Many current and former ROH guys have wrestled all over the world so if they all came into WWE right now, many would impress because they know how the business works and they know what they can and can't do. That's why Tyler Black, Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli can come up from FCW right now and be better than 80% of the current WWE roster. Of course, WWE won't use them to their full potential because they aren't "Vince-made" stars.
I would like Davey to go to WWE for three reasons. 1. He deserves to get paid serious money (not hating on ROH but WWE has more capital) 2. The talent/ability he has may push other guys further 3. He has nothing left to prove in ROH i.e. there's really no one left to beat
Nice of you to put it online since I missed that episode! I can see why people where disappointed about the ending (I heard about it) but other than that it´s a cool match!
@ChunkyChocobo I completely disagree dude. RoH doesn't have just this. Ring of Honor has so many more styles of wrestling than what was shown in one match, and I don't see how you judge a whole promotion by one individual match.
I liked it. At the very least, the style allows for sequences I've never seen before. As a fan and practitioner of MMA, I like the way the moves are applied to wrestling here. Surely there's the possibility of taking it too far, but what they did here was just right.
one more comment by the way, and sorry to sort of spam the comments here with constant thoughts, but I kind of like the way they set up the camera angle here. With the primary camera being pointed at the "short" side of the ring as apposed to the "long" front the ring. Gives it kind of a unique look. I don't think that's something ROH typically does, and was probably just because of how they had to set up for the taping at this location, but I like it.
Guys in ROH know more about pacing, psychology, and storytelling than many in WWE do. These guys know how to work. Their workrate is much higher than in WWE. Just because they pull off some amazing moves at times doesn't mean they don't know how to work a proper match, because they do. ROH just follows the puro style more than any NA company. I'd rather watch ROH wrestling than WWE wrestling with the exception of a few great guys now in WWE like Bryan, Punk, Ziggler, Cody, etc.
Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. Danielson is in the shape of his life and finally got some charisma. CM Punk's wrestling better than he ever has. Moxley and Tyler Black are a part of the most entertaining angle in recent memory, and Hero, PAC, and Generico are on their way to the top in a matter of months.
I still see Kyle O'Reilly being a future ROH World Champion. Hell if his ex Futureshock partner Adam Cole can be the champ so can he. Matter of fact Kyle had defeated Adam Cole for the PWG Title earlier this year.
How far wrestling has come... 20 years ago a dude with an American Wolf gimmick would come out wearing fur gloves and would howl at the fans... This is better... :)
one hell of a match, davey richards is one of the best, if not the best, wwe would love to have this guy because he's clean, in shape, known all over the world, and doesn't need any training, although i pray he doesnt go there, wwe made a joke out of low ki and bryan danielson, seriously, bryan danielson is on wwe tv hugging men and yelling at divas, wtf, and cm punk is a millionare now so he doesnt have to do anything he doesnt want to do, no more drive.
Like I understand this is before it but Daniel bryan main evented a wrestlemania he's like 5 time world champ and is loved the world over with a hot wife out of the deal I'm Shure he's doing just fine
@bigfloridapimp Once again agreed.Japan has the best promotions in the world.Im anticipating NJPW's news conference I think on the 29th.Bushiroad wants to challenge WWE and I look at the state of WWE and the terrible shows and cookie cutter wrestlers who dont know how to work in the ring and think its the perfect time. But glad to see somebody who sees the art of the in ring story
The thing about the business now is that WWE controls 95% of it and that is bad. Back then guys came into WWF/E and were ready because they had gained experience around the world. Now, guys train in FCW, learn the very basics, and get called up with little experience. They don't know how to work at all.
@CMY187 I think ROH is trying to have their own style instead of copying WWE as TNA does. I think people want see is Old school wrestling like "attitude Era" and don't get "the story within the match" like in Japan. But glad to read the comments of a true wrestling fan.
you're talking about the same company that has former ROH champions CM Punk and Bryan Danielson simultaneously holding their 2 world titles going into their biggest show of the year right? fucking hell.
I am fully aware that FCW is the so called developmental for WWE. But quality wise it still is kicking Raw and Smackdown's butt blistered red! better matches, better wrestlers, better concepts. WWE needs to be more like FCW. You never see 30 Minute Iron-Man matches on Raw or Smackdown. You do on FCW. Still hoping for a 60 minute Iron-man with Bryan and Punk at Money In The Bank. Would settle for a 30 minute one with overtime period. Seriously doubt such a thing will ever be booked.
There's only one thing that REALLY bothers me about Ring Of Honor. Their commentary is pretty awful. Though the Battle In The Carolinas DVD they recently put out featured Jim Cornette on commentary and that was pretty great. They ought to put him as the color guy permanently, he knows how to build a match up on the mic much better than everybody else that they got.
@35stevestarks Davey Richards has incredible technical skill and works an impressive, very stiff style...but he can't cut a promo at all in my opinion and quite frankly I've never seen him incorporate anything approaching real ring psychology into his matches nor does he sell very well. I remember watching him in a match with Eddie Edwards wherein Edwards worked on his arm for hat seemed like 10 minutes and Richards made a comeback without even a cursory acknowledgment to his arm.
@CMY187 as for the Hogan part, if you think there is nothing to learn from him then to quote you, "in the nicest way possible", you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The basic key to pro wrestling success is "making them yell the loudest for the longest". And Hulk Hogan did that better than anybody ever. A Hogan look or hope or comeback at the right moment got 10x the reaction of just about anything else anywhere. And it's not a sport, it's a work. People seem to forget that.
@3timeMVPNash I haven't watched much of ROH, but I agree with you having watched wwe for roughly 13 years now. This match here was better than most matches on wwe, including their top guys.
@CMY187 Basically, you can learn a hundred little things about professional wrestling, improving as a performer, about how pro wrestling actually works from a Hulk Hogan or an Undertaker match. Everything I've been ranting about will teach you simply how to rush through everything in a random order for no apparent reason whatsoever. And I understand to a degree, it's easier to do that, no real learning involved. But it sure as hell doesn't mean I'm going to applaud somebody for doing it.
@CMY187 ...idea that "this is how pro wrestling should be" and "WWE is bad" because we live in a digital age and that's what some sweaty idiots on the internet who've never been near a wrestling school in their life maintain. And this leads to shows all over the country featuring skinny guys who haven't seen a gym in there life getting all of their "MOVEZ", having 17 WWE finisher nearfalls, 3,628 superkicks and not a single fucking clue about working a crowd, making things mean something, that..
first roh match i've seen not sure if i like it but i keep flashing back to when the rock pointed a camra at the camra guy and asked dose this jabroni look like the guy who's going to win the royal rumble? for some strange reson.
ok i dont see too much ROH, but come on, this davey richards is supposed to be the best in the world, this match is more like MMA in a wrestling ring, and slaps in faces... not exactly what i call wrestling, but better than wwe of course.
@MrVader0173 Well Hero and Double C are just in FCW, and Daniels never hit the main event. But I agree, for pure technical ability ROH is where you want to go. Its not a perfect product by any means, but if you dont live in Japan and speak japanese to truly grasp their product, this is the best. I only say that because I think one thing Japan has over ROH is selling and story telling. Everyone wants to wrestle Steamboats style, but no one wants to tell a story like him, If only. :\
I like ROH and Davey but it's getting stale, they need to sign some fresh exciting talent or bring back some old names and push them. By okd names i mean ROH/PWG guys like whitmer, maff jon walters, and more. That and bring back the pure title.
I am with u brah.i love wrestling not companies.I watch wrestling matches and don't care about fucking styles.everybody can't b the same. so love wrestling not companies.
No way somebody actually commented that Davey is the best wrestler alive though. No way that happened. Nope. SMMFH!!! There's no hope for this generation of wrestling fans.
@bigfloridapimp I agree.the best in ring product in the usa today with the best wrestlers in the usa.Theres a reason that Danielson,Punk,Hero,Castagnoli,Joe,Daniels all got big contracts.Richards is the best.
@CMY187 ...less is more, about pacing, about doing things at the right time, about telling a story. You learn how to do all of the stuff, you learn to "master your craft", you gain an actual personality and a look and then you only have to throw a punch or a kick or even a look to get twice the reaction the skinny guys get from the latest 720-head-drop-straight-into-a-submission-that-instantly-makes-what-you-just-did-mean-jack-shit.
@CMY187 I have a huge amount of respect for what they can do, KENTA especially but I don't particularly enjoy it. But I understand it a lot more in there case anyway, strong-style is part of the "mainstream" wrestling culture over there. In the west, strong-style is skinny guys doing impressions in front of 250 people because they either can't be bothered or don't have all the necessary tools to make some proper money.
@CMY187 Who said anything about not appreciating what they can do? I respect the shit out of what Davey Richards is capable of doing. Teach him how to "work" and I'd bet money on him being excellent. But why should people "just try to enjoy the match for what it is" when it basically encapsulates everything that is wrong with professional wrestling in this part of the world? 100 hundred skinny kids will see this and think this is how pro wrestling should be because they have completely moronic..
@ChunkyChocobo Well as they said this was done Strong Style. Which if you look up is not like Normal Wrestling. It has more strikes and holds. But it is your thoughts.
@ChunkyChocobo Their main event scene is revolved around their champion (which is what a main event scene should be revolved around). It is sometimes a bit slow paced, but in my eyes, I don't see the match quality being affected whatsoever. I personally don't see the problem.
Hopefully to see American wolf davey richards join NJPW strong maybe debuting team ambition with Carmelo Jackson Mike outlaw and tootie Lynn also team with rocky Romero no remorse corps reunion in jr tag team division
when did I say anything about the reasons for signing them? besides, Vince shouldn't really give a damn if somebody is a great wrestler because NEWSFLASH he runs a business. no idea what your comment is attempting to "achieve"
@Nathanimal53 For stupid reasons. Namely, they don't like Richards' work on the mic and they don't like his workrate. They think he doesn't sell enough. There's no satisfying people like that.
Wwe need to learn,Alot! CM Punk copy Jericho,Cena always Is beaten up but always win,the most talented are jobbers or they dont have well deserved title match While Roh always gives all wrestlers a chance and doesnt uses jobbers
I can't believe that some lowlife human beings are actually picikng sides regarding wrestling companies ?! As long as there's good wrestling I'll watch the match doesn't matter where.
Roh is the best wrestling company in the u s not named dragongate usa. Wwe is garbage and so is tna. I'll take wrestling over talk..talk..n more talking
@TheFunkyDomination And i'm against him going to the WWE! That's just gonna make him look like a clown. What's the point for him to face a guy like John Cena, who has 0 wrestling skills. WWE doesn't give a shit about wrestling skills. All they want are 285 pound steroid freaks, or clowns who's good on the mic. They don't appreciate a wrestler like Davey. What ROH should do is constantly promote good quality wrestling, and bringing in guys who actually knows how to wrestle.
@CMY187 Pacing/psychology/storytelling are something you learn the basics of in any decent wrestling school and you then go and work at it yourself from there simply by getting as much experience as possible, by listening, by studying etc. These guys simply aren't interested in doing any of that stuff. Because doing this or the "movez" bollocks is simply easier, a shortcut to people that don't know better. And "Pure wrestling skill" as you put it should make up maybe 20% of a pro wrestler.
A long time, i hope, i don't wanna see any of these guys in WWE! They(WWE) probably would make them job to John "Superman" Cena, Randy "Boring" Orton and Even Shame(us)! -_-
@GenerationXeroFilms That is not really a herculean task nowadays. ROH could be 100 times better than WWE but 100 time 0 is still 0. It may be better than WWE, but as a wrestling company they could be much better.
RVD is a joke now. He crutches on his past glory and is only over for being a past name. Name one 3 star match he has had since he went to TNA. Don't worry, I'll wait...
mmm....a disappointing finish to was a Good action match, that said, the all round camera skills was Splendid & maintained the attention to viewing....which is more than can be said about that boring commentary, why these outfits waste money on them is beyound me!...Anyhow,Thanks for posting...
This is wrestling the way it should be.
thats the point...they want less emphasis on story and more on wrestling. this has always been the motto of roh.
Whenever I watch matches like this I wish that ROH was on UK television.
first time ive sat down and watched some ring of honor matches, got to say on the wrestling side of things it walks all over wwe and tna.
Fantastic Wrestling Match!
Wow Both men were very impressive
I would like Davey to go to WWE for three reasons.
1. He deserves to get paid serious money (not hating on ROH but WWE has more capital)
2. The talent/ability he has may push other guys further
3. He has nothing left to prove in ROH i.e. there's really no one left to beat
KENTA - shoot style
Shinsuke Nakamura - Strong style
Davey Richards - American Strong style
Nice of you to put it online since I missed that episode!
I can see why people where disappointed about the ending (I heard about it) but other than that it´s a cool match!
I liked Davey Richards' American Wolf attire better
@ChunkyChocobo
I completely disagree dude.
RoH doesn't have just this. Ring of Honor has so many more styles of wrestling than what was shown in one match, and I don't see how you judge a whole promotion by one individual match.
It would be so cool to see Kurt Angle vs Davey Richards.
Awesome match. I like what ROH is doing, I think they provide the most entertaining in ring product. I only wish i had a Sinclair station near me.
I liked it. At the very least, the style allows for sequences I've never seen before. As a fan and practitioner of MMA, I like the way the moves are applied to wrestling here. Surely there's the possibility of taking it too far, but what they did here was just right.
All dislikes on the ROH videos were almost all from Russia. Someone(s) was trying to sabotage ROH. Love ROH.
why would people dislike this
one more comment by the way, and sorry to sort of spam the comments here with constant thoughts, but I kind of like the way they set up the camera angle here. It will happen, I know. Either next year or the year after, Kyle will be roh champion.
+jcp1977 it might actually happen at the 14th anniversary show
jcp1977 And now he won it but lost it a month later :\ hopefully he gets a 2nd, longer, better reign
I hate to burst your bubble but Kyle is gone from ROH.
jcp1977 Ah that explains why i haven't seen him wrestle since wk11
How far wrestling has come... 20 years ago a dude with an American Wolf gimmick would come out wearing fur gloves and would howl at the fans... This is better... :)
both are in top form--tight, lean -- terrific!
Listen, ROH, I came here to watch pro wrestling, not fake MMA.
one hell of a match, davey richards is one of the best, if not the best, wwe would love to have this guy because he's clean, in shape, known all over the world, and doesn't need any training, although i pray he doesnt go there, wwe made a joke out of low ki and bryan danielson, seriously, bryan danielson is on wwe tv hugging men and yelling at divas, wtf, and cm punk is a millionare now so he doesnt have to do anything he doesnt want to do, no more drive.

i came here because i want to see wrestling which wwe just does seem to want to provide anymore
To be fair IWA-MS did more than ROH for at least three of those guys careers
i don't think i've ever seen richards this lean. very hot! the king of swag.
Fucking top class Professional Wrestlers
Why the fuck is there so many dislikes? Watch out, WWE fanboys are taking over!
Dude, their best talker is not even Steen. Remember Steve Corino?
To the people responsible for the 83 Dislikes. Please, "Slap Yo' Self"!!!
Davey Richards is amazing---why hasnt TNA or WWE picked him up? Definately alot better than 90% of the wrestlers on tv today.

Next roh world champs
Mike bennet
Adam cole
Jay lethal
Tamaso ciampa
Kyle o'reily
Michael elgen
Good Boots and Trunks Match. Need some headscissors and pile drivers.
I love how Bryan Danielson, CM Punk etc. acting in the ring, but this match is awesome, too. But this are opinions
Wait? Since when can Davey Richards talk on the mic? lol
a gangsta stretch cloverleaf or somethin' like that
@35stevestarks Davey Richards has incredible technical skill and works an impressive, very stiff style...but he can't cut a promo at all in my opinion and quite frankly I've never seen him incorporate anything approaching real ring psychology into his matches nor does he sell very well. Kyle's stomach really took a beating in the match!
I am sorry ROH is not as outrageous and segment driven as the attitude era was.
endless punishment to O'Reilly's gut!!
first roh match i've seen not sure if i like it but i keep flashing back to when the rock pointed a camra at the camra guy and asked dose this jabroni look like the guy who's going to win the royal rumble? for some strange reson.

I am with u brah.i love wrestling not companies.I watch wrestling matches and don't care about fucking styles.everybody can't b the same. so love wrestling not companies.
Why are so many people who dislike ROH watching this video? 85 people pointlessly came here to bitch and dislike this video, pretty sad.
No way somebody actually commented that Davey is the best wrestler alive though. No way that happened. Nope. SMMFH!!! There's no hope for this generation of wrestling fans.
@bigfloridapimp I agree.the best in ring product in the usa today with the best wrestlers in the usa.Theres a reason that Danielson,Punk,Hero,Castagnoli,Joe,Daniels all got big contracts.Richards is the best.
what channel does roh come on?? some plzz answer
It's possible they simply did not like the match...
@ChunkyChocobo Rather watch ROH than WWE and TNA right now.

always funny to see truth martini get his butt kicked!!
@ChunkyChocobo Well as they said this was done Strong Style. Which if you look up is not like Normal Wrestling. It has more strikes and holds.
But it is your thoughts.
@ChunkyChocobo
Their main event scene is revolved around their champion (which is what a main event scene should be revolved around). It is sometimes a bit slow paced, but in my eyes, I don't see the match quality being affected whatsoever. I personally don't see the problem.
Davey Richards is really insane in tht ring
This is a rematch i am looking forward to!
I love Davey Richards ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hopefully to see American wolf davey richards join NJPW strong maybe debuting team ambition with Carmelo Jackson Mike outlaw and tootie Lynn also team with rocky Romero no remorse corps reunion in jr tag team division

when did I say anything about the reasons for signing them? besides, Vince shouldn't really give a damn if somebody is a great wrestler because NEWSFLASH he runs a business. no idea what your comment is attempting to "achieve"
43 Miz or Jeff Hardy fans disliked this video lol
@Nathanimal53 For stupid reasons. Namely, they don't like Richards' work on the mic and they don't like his workrate. They think he doesn't sell enough. There's no satisfying people like that.
Wwe need to learn,Alot! CM Punk copy Jericho,Cena always Is beaten up but always win,the most talented are jobbers or they dont have well deserved title match
While Roh always gives all wrestlers a chance and doesnt uses jobbers
is this a latest match?
I can't believe that some lowlife human beings are actually picikng sides regarding wrestling companies ?! As long as there's good wrestling I'll watch the match doesn't matter where.

I agree with you.
Sounds like a bit of From Russia With No Love
@ChunkyChocobo NOW? So when Samoa Joe and Danielson were there they weren't?
AMERICAN STRONG STYLE!! WRESTLING!! Not gay-ass skits!
