Just got one of the snap off blade and went straight back to the cheep plastic one because the little wheel you have to turn to lock and in lock is so annoying I hope they come out with a better design that’s the whole reason I was watching this video to see if I was stooped and was using it wrong thanks for the video
@@chris how do you remove that back end? What is the simple but ABSOLUTELY NOT OBVIOUS trick? I'm about to use a sledge, but that might moot the need to change blades.
Thank you. I couldn't figure out how to put the blade in my utility knife until I saw your video.
As a left hander, I find the spring assistant one very hard to use. I got the ball bearing one and love it
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you for showing how to put the blade in on the one you use to every day. The wrapper from it got thrown away and I could not figure it out

Yes, you've got to crank it down good to lock it into place. It's not that big of a deal for me... I use mine all the time.
I think it’s weird that the little wheel can be so many times in either direction.
Just got the spring assist I’ve never owned one like it and I’m almost scared opening it lol
Don’t be. It’s not scary at all.. just helpful!
How do you open the knife to change the blade in the 3 snap off knifes?
1:20
@@spacecadets1756 Nope that doesn’t tell you. You have to pull off the black bit at the back, and it’s really hard. Need a pair of pliers
i own the slring assisted and ive been trying to get the belt clip off ive stripped 3 screw drivers how the hell does this come off
All of them are exactly the same as the DeWalt just red
Makes sense since Stanley Black & Decker owns both DeWalt and CRAFTSMAN brands!
Are you sure there isn't a built in tool to snap the blade off?
Upon further investigation yes! There is a way to slide off the back end of it and there is a slot to use 😀
@@chris even the El Cheapos have a tool built in! Thank you for your channel!
Well, thank you for watching and commenting! I really appreciate it.

I can’t get the spring assist pocket knife to fold. What do I do?
I'm not sure... never had it happen. Try contacting CRAFTSMAN or checking your warranty/receipt
Tell me why craftsman would take away storage for an extra blade... first world problems
