I like to believe that the showrunners convinced Gideon's actor to come back and die again by saying "You get to be killed by ALF!" Which is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. :)
when i first watched this episode the sitcom part felt like it was soooo much longer than it is. now that i have finished the show i appreciate it much more
fun fact, not sure if this was mentioned somewhere before (sorry if it was!) - the actress who plays the FBI agent, Dom, is Grace Gummer, daughter of Meryl Streep. She's terrific in the show.
What an amazing episode, haven't heard them laugh this hard in a while. Also I think the first time this show has gotten them with the Elliott and Mr. Robot scene near the end, and many more tears to come I'm sure lol
Eliot knows by now that Mr Robot is not his father but an alternate personality state of himself. This “alter” sometimes takes over while Eliot isn’t aware about anything that Happens at that time. This is why Eliot thanked Mr Robot: Mr Robot took over while Eliot was beaten up and Eliot only came back when the worst part was over. It’s not about the relationship to his father but about Eliot coming to terms with his split personality- at least for now.
This one and 2x10 are without a doubt my favorites of the season. Minor note but I hate how the two two-parters of this season throw off the episode title counts so much, where "eps2.4" is the sixth episode of the season lmao

Yeah, right down to the commercials. I was suddenly much less impressed with the originality of that W______ show when I first saw this episode of Mr Robot earlier this year.

Apparently, if you watched it in the US, the commercials continued with the 90's style even though they were legitimate.
