I can't comment on your recent video on threading on your lathe because its disabled on your end lol your doing the right thing by shimming the cutter using a feeler gauge may not be cost effective lol but it works use it . The threads are going to cut better if you use the right tools and holders so looks like your going in the right direction . Good job thanks for sharing 👍👍
The metal you are cutting looks like Home Depot metal it doesn't cut worth crap looks like part of the problem in this video good work man your heading in the right direction 👍
hello im trying to do the same. Do you solve the problem? I see you your tacometer conect with mcuh 3 with index i think and for your splindle what motor are you using? how do you controler with pwm?
Thank you for very helpful video. I am trying to use a proximity sensor connected to the index in the mach3 board but although I got dignal in the index when I turn on the spindle I have no value in the trou s. Sn jdea eill help. Thank you Dennis Anghelatos
hello, when threading, the cutter brings it to the start and waits for threading on the cycle. G code generated through the master. I can't find the reason, or maybe there was an error in the G code?
Try to slide your round stock ( the part your trying to thread ) further into the collet so there's a minimal amount hanging out . You have a lot of chatter happening
Did you ever figure out how to do threading reliably in Mach3 turn? I'm struggling with it now and other than your video there are surprisingly few people trying to do it.
AndreBAnderson I stopped messing with it years ago. I will try do do some videos after the holidays so if you want to subscribe to my channel you will see them sometime in February
0:32 everytime you start real cnc you have to go home 5 of 7 our machines force you go home.. well you home machine why not end of job go home. it will be zero next time you powerup
Yep, I should have done that. When I get back from va beach I'm going to try threading again and if I get it working I'll post a video. I don't know why it's so hard to thread in Mach turn. Have you had any success?

Good eye, it is Home Depot metal and it cuts like crap.
@@robertlanham8076 yes for sure, horrible steel, most probably hot rolled, the worst u may want to cut
Best regards: Can you tell me how you configurate index debounce and other parameters of mach 3 for threading?
Ciao amico. Bel video istruttivo. Posso chiedere dove hai preso questa versione di schermata .set . La mia non è completa come la tua. Grazie

Thank you :), I am having issues with my little lathe, it wont start the thread sync, how did you get spindle feedback? c3 board?
Looks like the thread pitches for an Ar15 1/2x28. And AK-47 5/8x24 14-1 Left hand 😉👍
Correct on the ar, the 5/8 24 is for 300 blackout.

hi, which do you use mach 3 card?
I try rnr motion ,but it did not run

Roger that

it works well once u know how to use it, it took me a while to figure it out also
Doesn’t look like your tool has been set parallel with your chuck.
Nice tutorial video to help me,work jobsheet in the my school

I cant believe you've seen it 16k times
how to wiring encorder to BOB mach3
Suggestion: tell people it didn't work in the video description. I was all excited, and then...what a letdown.

it would be better if you observed how to use a real cnc lathe.
rdrhouse thanks I agree
Running mach3 on a microwave? ;)
