I played in these after college in men's leagues. Had the OG 1st game and black and white colorway. If I remember correctly, it took a few weeks to break in but it was a great performance game shoe. Love this style.

I’ve never owned the Zoom Generation but over time it’s def grown on me. Plus I still remember the story of the 3 designers having a short turnaround time to debut a shoe for Lebron. To see all the detailed performance specs on these, makes me really appreciate what those three gentlemen brought to the project. 🤓💯❤️🔥😍🏀

I played in the OG lows that you pictured in 8th grade. Loved em and they matched our colors. I like both cuts but always preferred the lows. The color blocking on the USA pair is so dope, would love to see those release or a variation! Also, the purple pair slated to release is fire. Cannot believe it's been 20 years.
I love how not only is Chris the OG on sneaker knowledge but now Jodi knows more about sneaker history than most sneakerheads these days ❤😂

These are a MUST for me. I tried to get them back in 2016 when they released and were SUPER limited. I struck out then and have been sad about it since. I NEED these! I have all the other colorways except these.

This was a beautiful one, Still have the OG pair as well as the Retro . The OG played amazing - and it had the POLY insole as well!

The 2016 release was such a cluster. It was so limited and hard to get. I hope these are easier to scoop. This was the first shoe that got my into sneakers as a kid.
Ugh, that release was terrible, couldn’t even sniff a pair. I hope these are an easy cop for all.
Sneaker industry is a fckin joke these days. Back in 2010s even the most hyped pairs are available in nearly any stores and you can but them at SRP.
Now it's resellers hoarding stocks through their "connections" and people don't mind paying absurd prices for a pair of damn shoes just for social status SMH

It’s gross how these companies have used exclusivity as marketing currency, with little concern for the consumer or even the product.
I try not to get mad about it because capitalism is going to capitalize and they are businesses, often with investors, but we diehards kept this train on the tracks when it was bare AF.
@@JAGmufc1 yeah and worst part is companies like Nike is intentionally limiting the stocks so the prices can go higher until it gets normalized. What a damn shame

I played in the originals during my senior year of high school. I loved them, so glad these are coming out again. Definitely looking to cop and hoop in them. The nostalgia.

The comment that Jodie made about the Kobe ones being around the same time frame and the perforated insole she mentioned really impressed me. People are really sleeping when it comes to Lebron's shoes. The tech in his shoes are everything a basketball player needs. Avar is very underrated. Great shoe and a classic. Awesome video!
Had the OG wht/blk colorway back in 2003 & they remain my favorite Lebron’s to this day. I’m sure they feel heavy by today’s standards but they were one of the best combos of cushion and light on feet back then. I remember the traction being good, shy of elite though. The sphere lining felt great, especially since I was definitely rocking no-shows back then. I’m not an ankle roller but I do remember some friends not liking them for that reason. That does fit with them not having the greatest court feel, something the next model improved on.

Traction work well on dust.
Cushions work well great impact protection lower to the ground.

I had the debut pair back in 2003, they’re up there with the Huarache 2k4 in comfort. Top 5 sneakers I have ever worn.
Had the white/black version my freshman year of college. Loved playing in them. The top eyelet did give me a blister if I didn't wear tall socks.
I had the white and maroon pair. These were dope af. Comfortable and bouncy feeling
One of the best shoes to ball with. It’s been almost 20 years that I played in them and loved them so much I had 2 pairs of the white and black and the all black ones. One pair was for playing the other to dress up.
I got the all black pair with red hints. Insanely comfortable. I'm 215lbs so they aren't heavy to me but they could be for others

I still have mine from 2003. I remember playing in them and they did feel great but you have to wear some hi ankle socks is what I remember.

I loved playing in these!!! Traction was great this really was one of the best overall LeBron shoes
The whole Bron/Melo hype really got me into the NBA when I was young and getting obsessed with ball in general, and this shoe is what would be considered a "grail" for me. I hate how the last few releases were so limited and generally overpriced but I'm glad they're going to release more so I might finally get a pair 20 years later.
I bought most of the OG pairs some 5-6 years ago when the resell of them weren't too bad. These along with the Lebron 2s and 3s are my all time favorite Lebrons!
Definitely a must for the collection. I like these, and the black/white ones. I actually like the wheats too but I definitely want these first.

I played in these back in my junior year. I remember it being really lightweight the cushion was great. problem I had was the fit, it felt a bit roomy at the toe area and I can't seem to get the laces tied the right way. the sphere lining felt very comfortable too. I had the white and red colorway.
Don't forget about the all white ones with the red check I had those when they first came out

I need them to drop the all white pair. So fresh and sleek. I had them in high school and I would buy them again. Rode the bus to the nearest Foot Locker and grabbed them straight off the shelf and a worker brought them out to me, it was so easy. Miss those days.

I had mine in 2004, that brown nubuck one, and believe or not, i am still using the PU insoles of them. Still super comfortable.
I definitely hope to cop the purple suede pair later this year!

Personally, these shoes could be the new generation classic retro with some lifestyle color ways and proper marketing because it looks so good.
There's a new cool grey colorway of these coming out and instead of the synthetic stuff it's all suede and nubuck. They look really nice with the higher quality materials

I had these not long ago. Played in them a few times, outdoors and indoors. I had the Wheats so everyone thought I was wearing timbs on court lmao. They were mad comfortable. The traction was great, the translucent rubber had no issues on my dusty court after breaking them in. Cushioning is crazy on these, great impact protection while being super responsive. Air, Zoom and a carbon fiber plate is a pretty goated combination tbhwy. My issues with these is the fact that they were pretty bottom loaded and not super stable. My footwork was actually weaker bc the shoes felt pretty clunky in a halfcourt setting and I didn't have a lot of courtfeel, but that's probably bc I weigh 143 pounds. A heavier dude probably presses more into the foam stack. I also rolled my ankle a few times in these which forced me to part ways with them unfortunately. I would've preffered them to be lower to the ground or having a wider outrigger. Otherwise, a great shoe that looks amazing.

favorite lining hands down had a pair of white and blue team jordans from that year with the same lining hated how it wasnt on anything past like the jordan 20s
Not gonna lie, after playing and only owning the 20, I feel like it’s a must to cop the first pair he played in. I was always more of a Carmelo fan and rooted for him. Great review, and of course, each detail you covered just scream comfy boys to me lol

This comment is me to a T. First lebron I own is the 20. I grew up as a Carmelo fan and a Dirk fan but since I have a few lebron 20s I feel like it’s only right to get these too (as well as a couple 11s that I want to retro)
No lie, this shoe was my favorite shoe to hoop in, all time! It’s lightweight and the shoe allows you to move freely! Hope I can get a size 12!
I had those when they came out the first, they were great for playing outdoors and the leather was good, just got them back in those days because I couldn't find the Kidds or Jordans. I think the design is pretty cool. Not a Leflop fan anyway.
