In this video we talk about the Nike Zoom Generation “First Game” (2023), LeBron James’ first signature shoe with Nike.
This shoe was first released back in 2003, in LeBron’s NBA debut. 20 years later, the traction and cushioning are still decent for its age compared to many modern basketball shoes today. A good amount of heel compression, excellent stability and good comfort. Just keep in mind that they’re going to be a little bit heavy and not as breathable given the leather upper, if you do plan on playing in these.

I owned two pairs of these way back 2003. One is the white/black colorway and the other one was the black/white colorway. I was not able to cop this white/red colorway as they were released with limited quantities here in the Philippines. I find these great performers although by today’s sneaker standards they’re a bit on the heavy side. For me performance wise they were great. Even the retro pair I bought back in 2017 was great. I plan to cop this colorway as I was no able to get one back then.
Same here - have such a vivid memory of this. It was my first trip to US. I got these in White White Red swoosh colorway (actually just checked the price and it is going for £850 🤯 in StockX)..anyways absolutely loved this shoe..like you i always wanted in first game and home colorway. Will be coping it soon just for nostalgia reasons..

Good memories when they first came out. I think the design was inspired by the Hummer H2 that was gifted to him by his mom while he was in HA. As a poor student, I couldn’t afford these. I’d like to try to get my hands on these nowadays!

aesthetically, i was never a fan of earlier lebrons. started liking them from lebron 7s 😅. still only like a few models like 7, 8, 9, 10.

You expected the grip to not perform well? Haha na, I'm biased personally but feel the Mid 2000s, through probably 2013 were some of best overall hoop shoes out (full length cushion, solid support, good materials, durable traction for indoor/outdoor, etc.) I know these were from 03, but if these weren't a solid performer I doubt they would've retroed them haha.

Hey 😃 It’s a Phylon midsole, with a forefoot Zoom unit and an airbag in the heel basically. No difference from the original release I believe and a pretty good setup in the standard of that period.
When are these releasing? I can’t find them on the Nike website anywhere
This colorway was supposed to release on Mar.21 I think. But depending on where you are each retailer might have a different release schedule so dates can vary by a lot.

@@myretroworld1121 I see I see, they have the same fit so I think you can safely go with a size 10. But these won’t be as comfy as the 13s, just from my personal experience.

Does it need to size up for wide foot?
I personally wouldn’t risk it since it’s already on the heavier side, if length or heel slippage becomes an issue that is definitely not good. These are right about average width.
So going true to size is best in my opinion.
