G.W. Jr. at his finest, Yeah boy, I remember this jam as a kid. Pop would jump in that big ass sky blue drop top caddy, throw on some G.W. Jr. and just cruise, heads rockin', fingers poppin', toes tappin' down the streets of Cincinnati, Ohio. Rest In Peace G.W. Jr.
Unfortunately Grover is no longer with us. He left us in December 1999, 4 days after his birthday, at the age of 56! However, he has left those "blessings" to continue to enjoy.
In my life this album is in the top ten of importance to me. RIP Ralph McDonald who wrote Mr. Magic and I have to give props to the great one Harvey Mason on drums.
Hey I was just a kid and my mom would take us fo ra drive and she would say we are going to listen to some Grover Washington and this was the always the song!
I was just a teenage boy with a sax, playing with the local Funk/Jazz band in Newburgh, NY.... yep! Band name? ECSTASY... Rocky (Bass), Billy (Lead), Jesse (Rhythm), Freddy (Drums) Gregory (Trumpet), Frank (Lead Singer), Dennis (Rhythm) and me on Sax. And as a teen in ;76/77, this was my solo that would turn the whole Ghetto upside down! Damn that boy can play! lmao!
Man, this right here is a classic!
My mom and aunt would do fashion shows in Detroit off this song in the early 80’s. Brings back some good ole memories🙂
I grew up listening to this man and still do today! Classic!

Oh man, such memories . . . . what a funky dude!
This jam still mellows me out with a kicking, head bopping groove that makes me swelt. Thats swing and melt for those of you unfamiliar with the term,
This is the short version of this song. It used to be on 45rpm in 1975 when I was 8 years old.
