Boat _seems_ nice, but there was too much footage of the people talking than the boat itself. How many cabins? How many crew? What do the engines look like? No tour, no link to the auction/boat information.

Actually Audio Gauging is when you send high frequency sound waves through the hull of a aluminum or steel hull to accurately measure the thickness of the metal for hidden wear. The hull is mapped and rechecked at problem areas to plan a solution. Paint does not have to be removed.
Also no captain in their right mind says I’m ok we’ll go through the storm, way way unprofessional. Ask the Andrea Gail how that worked for them, oh wait they’re all dead from a similar decision. Modern instruments afford us a better degree of safety, use it no matter what boat you’re in.
Sorry no disrespect intended it’s dangerous out there make no mistake about it.

Neither she or her husband are licensed captains. I can excuse her statement but I think she was pointing our how safe she feels in Hercules. Thanks

So, you're saying these people have more MONEY than they have SENSE?
Yep, a number of folk like that are slowly DYING in a submersible somewhere around the also-sunken Titanic right about now.
Maybe the next submersible expedition to the Titanic will figure out what happened to them.
      More money than common sense.

I in a sense agree with you. Of course you cannot plan on weather. It happens sometimes and you're in it. But 100% if you can avoid a storm you DO. You do not "run through it." I have said this for years. You must ALWAYS respect nature...because nature has NO respect for you.

I love this type of yacht. It’s something you can live in and feel safe and able to go anywhere you want…..if you have the money for fuel and consumables. This is another rich persons toy.

Looks very top-heavy no wonder they added "steel" and a lot of ballast I bet too.

Yes this boat was poorly figured and quite notorious when new.

A good planned maintenance system is key for keeping a boat in good running order. All these videos on RUclips that you see about everything breaking on their boat is because they didn't have a maintenance plan.

You say :'when she was originally put in the water shed didn't float on her waterline correctly which is typical for a custom steel boat". I'm not so sure about that. Looks to me more like bad design or something went wrong in the build.

Ahh, the ol' strength vs speed, the tortoise and the hare, David and Goliath. If I ever strike it rich enough to buy a yacht, I think it's going to be the hardest decision. I do love a Portuguese Bridge.

That to me is a ship. It is a beautiful thing. Any sailor would feel confident being on board her. Were I to have the resources to own such a vessel it would have to have a higher cruising speeds. The seaworthy capabilities are absolutely important to that type of travel and adventure, but who has that much time? 🤔

Really nice boat. It looks a little top heavy ? Thank you. Wait ! What, a boat like it does not need a Captain ? ? 75 ft….no Captain. Just a person ! I must have missed something, surely ?
