7. Promo for "MacGyver" and "A Whisper Kills"
8. The ABC Sunday Night Movie Commercial Bumper
9. Promo for "Who's The Boss?" and "Just The Ten Of Us"
10. Kool-Aid Kool Shots (With the Kool-Aid Man's...mother? Voiced by Estelle Harris? The sight of what is essentially the Kool-Aid man in drag is probably going to stay in my brain for a while...)
11. Shady Brook Farms (Mmm...turkey parts)
12. WMTW Nightbeat Bumper
13. The ABC Sunday Night Movie Commercial Bumpers
14. Nissan Sentra
15. Matilda Bay Wine Cooler

17. Century 21
18. Promo for "2nd Annual American Comedy Awards" (The mention of the writers strike refers to this: en.wikipedia.o... which ended up being the longest strike in the history of the WGA and delayed the 1988 fall TV season by several months. Let's see if the current writers strike can beat that one!)
19. Promo for "Baby M" (Based on a real case: en.wikipedia.o...)
20. Levi's 501 Jeans
21. Pontiac Grand-Am
22. Budweiser Bud Light All Star Contest
23. Friskies

26. The ABC Sunday Night Movie Commercial Bumper
27. Promo for "Good Morning America"
28. ABC News Brief
a. Fatal bus crash in Kentucky (They left out the actual cause of the accident, which was a head-on collision from a drunk driver driving in the wrong lane which then caused the fuel supply of the bus to ignite. This is still the deadliest incident involving drunk driving in U.S. History: en.wikipedia.o...)
b. Soviet army withdraws from Afghanistan (Rebel infested ? Honestly a strange word choice to use since their country was invaded by the Russians and the Mujahideen were typically referred to as "Freedom Fighters" by the U.S. government/media back then)
29. Ford Escort
30. Linda Bean-Jones for Congress (Heiress to the L.L. Bean company, she unsuccessfully ran as a Republican for congress in Maine's 1st district twice in 1988 and 1992)
31. WMTW Nightbeat Bumper
32. The ABC Sunday Night Movie Commercial Bumpers
33. TV Spot for "Big" (A classic)
34. Ford Escort (Sorry for dupe)
35. Listerine
I forgot that Dan Schneider used to be an actor before he created shows for Nickelodeon. Also, screw that guy!
I was surprised the fat guy from Head of the Class made those Nickelodeon shows (and is also a creep)
Pepsi- With the amount of havoc that Dan Schneider wrecked on that beach getting to that soda stand, he’ll be banned from that beach for a long time.
Friskies- Seeing the cat use his paw to knock over the box of Friskies Dry Cat Food puts a smile on my face every time with its cuteness.
Another great set of 80's commercials has made my day a whole lot better. Thank you once again 😊
Big was one of many movies that came out around that time that dealt with kids in adult bodies (Like Father Like Son, Vice Versa, 18 Again), and arguably the best.
Baby M? Sounds like a character from a Muppet Babies like show featuring James Bond characters.
Was based on a case involving a surrogate mother who went back on the agreement and kept the child: www.nytimes.com/2014/03/24/us/baby-m-and-the-question-of-surrogate-motherhood.html
wow 35 years ago that Carrollton bus collision happened so tragic...
The biggest event resulting from the 1988 stroke was that it marked the beginning of the end of the daytime soap operas in America.
The reason for the ending of daytime soap operas was stay-at-home housewives had to get jobs to support their family.
MacGyver-the old"undercover in prison"trope
A Whisper Kills-trailer kind of gave away who the killer is
Kool-Aid Kool Shots-this ad could be a horror movie in itself
2nd Annual American Comedy Awards-had there been a new edition of this airing today, they probably would just re-run this promo
Baby M-narration by Percy Rodrigues
Growing Pains-that was a good episode
Head Of The Class-Brian Robbins(leather jacket guy) is now the CEO of Paramount
What has been seen in that Kool-Aid ad cannot be unseen. Although I do remember when certain juice drinks used to come in big cans!!!
Regarding 28A- this is so tragic. There was an accident here in NY about 2 weeks ago where a drunk driver, also driving the wrong way, hit a car carrying 4 teenage boys, 2 of which were killed 💔
Unfortunately the drunk driver in this incident was a model prisoner and reduced his 16 year sentence to only 9½ years. IMO if you kill 27 people (mostly children) and had a history of DUI's in the past you should not be free.
@@80sCommercialVault I completely agree!
The drunk driver name was Larry Malhoney. I 71 has a memorial sign at the site of the crash near Carrollton . Kentucky enacted tougher drunk driving laws and bus safety regulations after the crash.
#29/#34 - Not a total dupe; the former was the local version, the latter, the national version! :D
