KFG in the subway: “Excuse me, Mr. Faustino. May I get a photo with you?”
Faustino: “Maybe next time”. Lol (ok, I just made that up).
I didnt know which video i should take, but since the Lee Estate is in it, i gonna take this one. I copy this over from an other place, it was a reply from me to some people who always hail Linda so much and/or calling Betty Ting a killer with three !!! behind it. Just read it for the pleasure (i mean Sifu Alex and anyone who is interested):
Yes, Bruce was a drug user, philanderer and Hollywood personaliy in his final years. But the young Lee, who was 18, 23 or 25 years old was indeed a martial artist and family man. But it all changed when he came in contact with guys like S. McQueen and others. He himself did chose this way so i dont feel any mercy at all. He wanted to be Mr Superhotshot and payed the price for it.
He lost control over himself when he was around 29/30 years old, still trained like a berserk since his ego was like i am the invincible street fighter, but lost many of his values.
And about this women thing: Sorry i am getting sick of it! Linda L. Cadwell is a complete overrated person. She would be some unknown woman from Seattle without him. She was the right wife for a 23 years old martial arts instructor, yes, but not the right wife anymore for a 30-32 actor, coke head and womanizer. Thats why Linda ignored all of this in the Dragon movie, this was her fairy tale of Bruce like he was when he was 22 when they met. He changed very much later and she ignored it. Their marriage was in a bad state and was doomed to failure.
His death helped her in the end. Sounds hard but its the truth. She looked like a Skeleton in early 1973, but a year later in 1974 she looks reliefed and very happy and healthy. And her new love was lawyer Adrian Marshall. And she mistreated his family like dirt, i mean his siblings and mother.
Linda gets too much credit imo. She fooled the whole world and faked how Bruce really was in the end. And this is now the spot where some hater like Quentin can make his point. He knows through his connections the real Lee was different in his final years, and now Linda pays the price for lying about decades. Thats why she was so quiet when Tarantino wrote in his novel to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood "Bruce Lee was like Charles Manson". Thats a very deep insult but yet Linda and Shannon are quiet to this day. They are scared because they know Tarantino has some very strong informatons about Lee which are undeniable true, even if he also spread many proven lies about him.
So or so it is so damn strange Linda never replied to Quentins claim Bruce was like Charlie Manson. If he had wrote "Elvis was like Charles Manson", you can be sure Priscilla Presley would have kicked Quentins butt very hard! But LInda said nothing, zero.
Either she is scared Tarantino knows even more, or she didnt love Bruce anymore in the end, which would make her a suspect being responsible for his death. Both things would bring a negative light to her, and this would explain why she is quiet.
That trip to HK with your YT audience sounds great 🔥
I propose to give Dre the award of Best Sidekick of a Kung Fu Podcast 💯
I would say you look like a cross between Jake Gyllenhaal and Sean Lennon, the way he looks presently. 🤣🤣...great episode KFG!!
Plot twist-- Dre’s favorite Disney character is Rapunzel.
Yeah my question brought along some singing in the KFG 😁 good looking out! 👍
Awesome question!
“Núñez your business!” 🙌🏻
Have a nice holiday weekend guys..... Word is Bond!
4:53,FAUSTINO.. omg now I know... I was perplexed over it.
Lol
There's a lot of talk of Bruce Lee as an innovative martial arts actor and his impact on filmmaking as it applies to martial arts, and def much respect to him for that. But after reading Matt Polly's biography and the emphasis that Polly put on Lee's ambitions as an actor I've realized that no one seems to really talk about Lee's skills as an actor (or even as a director or screenwriter). Do you think Bruce had legitimate skills as an actor? Or was he more like Van-Damme, Segal, Noris, etc. in the sense that he pretty much just played the same persona in all his movies? Do you think he could have had the range to play a non-martial artist role?
Hi KFG and all the team! It's good to hear Mikey Deane now fully mic'd up and bringing another level of class to the proceedings with his euphonious voice. What a top bloke!
Anyway, it sometimes seems like James Lee is the forgotten man of JKD. He was the instructor at the Oakland school and much loved and respected by his students. He was obviously a big influence on Bruce Lee when it came to conditioning, weight training etc but we rarely hear much about him compared to some of Bruce's other students.
Do you have any interesting or little known stories about James Lee, whether they be from his time training with Bruce Lee or before that when he was training under T.Y. Wong?
Many thanks and keep up the great work.
Any bodybuilding questions I get my blanket answer is: ask a bodybuilder that has the same genetics and hormone levels as you then askwhat they’re diet is because there is no generic answer. every BODY is different and won’t respond the same then you are less apt to get meat head bro’s fired up.
Trip to Hong Kong with the KFG crew, somebody that knows the area and customs, I'd sign up for that🥂
YES!!! Trip to HK sounds awesome
4:00 “HOB KOSKINS”
Hello SiFu Alex,
What is the deeper meaning of the plum blossom sign of the IWTA?
Greets
Would definitely be down for a Hong Kong trip with the KFG and crew! 🙌🏽
Seems a lot of people feel the same way!
Yes Si-Sok, Hong Kong trip would be killer 🤘 Gotta pick me up some Lee Kung Man
Great KFG Podcast. Enjoyed it as always. Thx Guys for the Great Podcast and entertainment. Keep it up 🔥🔥
You’re welcome
Lol. Re: sidekicks, so Dre is the Zhu Bajie to your Sun Wukong, eh? 😉.
Question for “this” episode:
Had the Kung Fu Genius not been a successful Martial Arts instructor, business man and podcaster, what career path do you think you would have gone down?
Also, outside of Martial Arts, what hobbies do the KFG, Dre and Mikey Dean enjoy?
Yes to listener HK tours!
Do nunchucks make sense as a weapon a Wing Chun practitioner would pick up?
Nunchucks should not be used by anybody who is legitimately concerned about self-defense
Dre's back...
Yayyy!!!
He never left!
"George Lazenbeak"
"George Cooney"
Someone should make a Dre-cabulary page
Lol I posted this on my IG stories lol
1:18 Suspect hair.. just saying. 😎🤚😂lol (nosa)
Hey KFG team! I have been really enjoying the show been watching new episodes religiously. Question: Since WC/WT favors the strong side forward how do you address training Left handed students? A previous instructor had me drill movements with a left lead which often times causes confusion with other fellow students. He also mentions that the wooden dummy can be built with a left lead as opposed the the traditional configuration. I would also appreciate any other insights regarding left handed practitioners. Thank you!
I went to the movies to see Never to Young to Die. I was a hostage. My cousin took me 😂
I have a repeat question, who would win in the Dreisonverse? Dr. Eison, Dre Ison, Dreison? Very important stuff here 😂
I’ve only listened to a few podcasts of the show, while driving, and I do like it. 👍 -now I’ve followed u on RUclips to be supportive of your show. Best, Jessica (3 yr practitioner of Kung Fu here in Louisville, Ky under Master John at Shaolin Do). 🙏🏼💫👍 #practicedaily #kungfulife 💪
Thanks for listening
Never to young to die, in Germany and Austria, Lance - stirb niemals jung, is a kult- Movie ☝️😅
I've noticed when I've watched you practice forms that you do it with enthusiasm.
Thank you!
I'm trolling Beerdy rite now. Lol
Beardy vs. KFG on pay per view? I think it would take more time for Michael Buffer to yell "Let's Get Ready To Rumbllllleeee!" than it would take for KFG to get a KO.
You better pad out those undercard fights! Maybe have Master Wong vs Emin Boztepe...or maybe just Master Wong vs himself
I've always believed Dre's voice was the one in the KFG intro song :O
Nope, that’s Kess The MC! He’s got a page here on RUclips somewhere.
Great episode guys! Thanks
You are welcome
Funny that George Lazenby should get mentioned here (although I know the context with the other, more popular George & Batman): He made only one James Bond movie (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service) and it wasn’t too bad. He did his own stunts and this was his lucky break. But he let this newfound stardom get to his head and then quit the series thinking it wasn’t going to go anywhere (wth, who was his agent?!??!!) which essentially got him blackballed from Hollywood. He then made one action movie (Universal Soldier, not to be confused by the other, more popular movie of the same name) where he played an anti-James Bond (a hippie mercenary, or something like that) which had a bit of a stoner plot. Yet this tangent somehow has a connection here (albeit a faint, possibly rumor laced one). George Lazenby tried to get his career relaunched in Asia, where he was in talks with Bruce Lee about being in Game of Death; andwas scheduled to meet with Bruce Lee on the day after Bruce’s untimely death. (Talk about bad luck!).
--or so I’ve read. Anyways, another good show, gang. Cheers!
He was also in NEVER TOO YOUNG TO DIE that was mentioned. If you haven’t seen this one. Oh boy.
@@LouKiss Yeah I heard them mention that… I got to see it now…. I think he also played James Bond in a cameo on The Kentucky Fried Movie, which also features a Bruce Lee imitator…
KFG vs Beerdy-- Please bring it Live to movie theaters. That’s how I watch UFC. KFG, please be careful with that manimal!
Another fun/informative podcast. 😎👍
Thank you!
Trip to HK with the KFG crew sounds like fun. Would be interested in that for sure
Awesome, I’ll post more about this in future episodes.
Rico Suave-- Gotta watch the video if you haven’t yet! Lol
I'm down for a Hong Kong meet up. I live there!
Awesome!
Hey KFG, can you talk a little bit about Bruce’s golden Rolls Royce? Is it true he had wanted one for a long time but died after ordering it?
Question for Dre-- What’s the name of the actor who plays as Danny Ocean in Ocean’s Eleven (2001)? 😁
Hong Kong is my favourite place! Massive Bruce Lee nerd here who would love to talk Bruce with the KFG!!! Keep us updated when you have an idea when you’re thinking of going (hopefully not during summer🥵) and I’m there!!
Sounds great, but we usually always go in the summer… Usually in August. My teaching schedule doesn’t allow me to go outside at that time.
@@TheKungFuGenius Thanks for the reply! Will definitely still try to make it if I can, so I look forward to more details of the trip on future KFG episodes. Cheers to you all!
Bring a fan to stay cool lol
Just a listener would love to see hong Kong !
ever heard of steve cottrell wing chun grandmaster
The 40 Year Old Virgin? The Office? Of course! I’m a huge fan.
Loved the last question.
Loved the answer more.
Thank you!
Don’t put down chopping wood, I saw Rocky do that in the movie.
Melo Man Ace was nice
Let’s go to HK!!!
Werd!
Lam Ching Ying was about that life 🫡
Sorry we did this episode so long ago I’m not even sure what you are referencing in here!
@@TheKungFuGenius the guy that was trying to get publicity via calling out bruce to fight him and Lam Ching Ying basically gave him a verbal beating
Yessir
But Michael Cooney might be related to Gerry Cooney........the great white heavyweight hope in the late 70's and 80's. lol
What it do my ninja 🤘🏻
Hello KFG peeps! Great episode per the usual! I’ve been wondering, what are the KFG’s thoughts on disciples?
Thanks! In what context do you mean disciples?
Disciples in the sense of a closed door student. Something more than just a regular student at the martial arts school. Do you believe in this kind of relationship? Do you have or plan to take on any disciples of your own?
Lam Ching Ying was also one of the guys in the black suits fighting the whites gi's at the big fight in ETD in he was the very guy who side kick a guy then broke his staff.
Yes! I think he’s in every scene lol
Hi Sifu Alex, yesterday ive found a Wing Chun guy named Tu Tengyao. Did you ever heard of him? He has a lot of viewers and people are discussing if he is fake or real. I cant judge it because ive never heard of him before.
He’s an actor from China doing choreography
Thx!
Glad you discussed weapons on this episode, especially how you can't just bolt on complete weapon forms with no regard to whether they gel with the Wing Chun principles and concepts.
My question is, have you looked at certain weapons/weapon combos, whether Chinese or European (for example, sword and buckler) and think to yourself, "that would work really well with Wing Chun"?
Great question
first of Fury at the Alamo drafthouse was not dubbed 😀
Hey KFG team, could you repeat the name of the RUclips channel that has old kungfu videos translated for us lazy sods who can't speak/read Chinese. Top banana podcast by the way. 🙏
Sifu Subtitles?
@@TheKungFuGenius that's the one.. thanks so much 🙏
I’d be down to travel to Hong Kong. Definitely been wanting to train over there for a while now. Please let me know any updates!
Will do
I want to go to HK
Definitely
George Cooney was the worst Batman. He had a credit card with unlimited credit, though! (Haters will say that it was actually George Clooney).
WOW, I so much want to go on the trip to Hong Kong!
Thanks for letting us know, there seems to be a lot of interest in this
Ive seen photos of Bruce Lee with three-section staff. Do you know if he ever learned these weapons or anything about his connection to them?
He uses it for a split second in the Green Hornet episode "The Praying Mantis".
In the Bruce Lee exhibition in Hong Kong they had them on display, he owned at least one.
He experimented with a lot of weapons and applied JKD principles to them.
He made foam nunchucks before they came to market. He threw a pair at Jerry Poteet and hit him in the face when he snuck into Bruce’s library.
I have a video on Bruce Lee’s staff techniques That were shown to me by Jerry.
@@LouKiss...so how would critique his staff skills then.
KFG, do you know if the Hong Kong press ever made mention of Bruce Lee’s significant and obvious weight loss before he died?
Boxer's analology, standing on previous generation's re-vision...
Indentify this movie. I only saw a few minutes of it in the late 80's. It looked like it was filmed in the 70's as a B level movie and was made bad on purpose.
The scene shows two teams who come together to fight. One guy was in a suit, his opponent was a sumo. But he was not an actual sumo, just a pudgy Japanese fellow dressed like a sumo. When suit guy and sumo come together the suit guy picks him up under his arm, then the camera pans up making it look like the suit guy turned into a giant and was marching with sumo guy under his arm like a baby.
Any clue?
Another great podcast.
Guys, please find a way to get rid of this "doctor", preferably a painful one
On it
Dear Dre,
Subbed > Dubbed
C’mon, man! 😑✌🏻🤙🏻 😉
Different intro sequence!
Shortening it up for the ADD generation
😂 hip hop
Kess
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
It's not Dre's fault that martial arts podcasts don't have more sidekicks. #1 is #1! (Front handed comment 😄)
I've Always Been Told I Resemble Muhammad Ali!
I appreciate you posting this
