Sorry, the video cut out at the end but this is what I wanted to say: . . . . . . . . . . . Sorry, the video cut out at the end but this is what I wanted to say.
I stopped with DL, not that much cuz MD, its because the behavior of Konami to DL after seeing MD, I mean, MD is much more accessible, the game is as you said, feels polished. The reason to stop DL is that crafting system kinda, I don't feel rewarded for all the time I spent in DL for any deck. RN I really wanna try PK as deck in DL, but I don't want to open fucking mini box x3 times for deck that you said it too, will get powercrepted in like 2 weeks or so. Playing DL from 2017 and really don't think will continue cuz of the attitude, not that much cuz of the gameplay
What killed DL for me were the card rates (shocker), card after card and I didn't get the ones I wanted until months later (I haven't played since 5ds released so idk what's new) I will however say that I do miss the characters along with their special dialog (plus each characters ost is pretty fun to listen to), it's gonna be weird for the opponent to not call me a 3rd rate duelist with a 4th rate deck.
i'm still dipping into the box that has Book of moon, which is now what, 5 core sets behind the newest box. like bruh. i just want a playset! and those limited time event boxes that had book of moon in them, never gave me the card with the 10 packs i was allowed to open with gems
I used to play Aromas in DL. I wanted to get a "Dry Winds"card, an SR not even UR... It took me until the last 10 packs to get ONE. I hated it so much.
@@ConnorGrummer the secret packs and the card dismantle system made me cry tear for joy, plus I finally was able to get/use Wall of Distribution since its now a normal card now
Something I liked about Duel Links was experiencing the development of the meta over 5 years. That's a different experience than playing just one format. With master duel, you're launched into a huge format with tons of cards right from the start. Right now, I play just a few duels of each game a day. It'll be interesting to see what new content/modes master duel adds over time.
Yeah I never played the TCG, but did play duel links. I was complet overwhelmed and didn't know what to play. Every opponent I played against had their deck ready even in Bronze and turns took forever, so then I just stopped playing. I dont want to put in a ton of time to learn all those different decks, because you need to know what they're capable of. I'd much rather play other games. Not hating on the game though, but it's just not for me.
@@EreaserNL I play in plat enjoying it without knowing most meta decks (except the ones I played). If you're not playing competitively you don't need to know the opponents deck imo unless you play a counter deck
Yeah exactly I felt like we grew with the game and didn’t skip a beat. and for the players like my self who didn’t play for years before that it helped reintroduce the game it self and my appreciation for it
@@Syrxen ???????? What kind of advice is this LMFAO competitive or not you have to know what your opponent is doing to even play and have fun with the game. Who the fuck plays sports without knowing how your opponents play their strats? No one haves fun with football by just "kicking the ball".
@@Sutobuto You learn as you go along, what I mean to say is that you can have fun and passively learn the decks without having to stress about it. I personally prefer to play all decks for myself though.
Moving from duel links to this game it feels nice, having the freedom to make any deck you want without being heavily restricted by pay walls and your wallet, it’s satisfying
Thing is though, you pretty much have to run a decent rogue deck or you'll get nowhere. Also try not to go the DL route, most good decks in DL suck in the TCG/OCG format.
@@MsMiDC I've experimented using multiple accounts in MD, and by finishing 3 solo stories i can always makes 1 decent deck for rank climbing. Then with that deck i can finish the rest of the solo stories and gain some ranks to get more gems, overall i can at least create 1 decent rank-climbing deck + 3-4 fun decks. Oh, and (at least) Plat 5 is climb-able even with fun decks. On one of my accounts i climb to Plat 4 with Skull Servants deck. Another with Ghostrick, Trickstar, etc.
@@vkarvanzer4243 Do not understimate Skull Servant, Grass Servant is low-key kinda nuts, decent rogue deck for sure. But yeah youre completely right. I built Eldlich and Blue-Eyes/Invoked on 1 account, but the BE/Invoked deck is way too expensive, really fun though.
I gave up on Duel Links a couple years ago and came back when Master Duel was announced, and man I am not going back to Duel Links after trying MD is just so mush satisfying in general
After playing Master Duel for a couple weeks and seeing how much easier to play f2p it is than Duel Links, I can't go back. One of the things I hated the most about Duel Links was having to pull for multiple SR and UR from multiple different boxes to build one deck. What made it worse was the fact that after all of that investment, you face the risk of that deck becoming obsolete after the next box. Meanwhile in Master Duel you have most everything already out with so many cards that would be SR and UR in Duel Links as just N and R (srsly why was a normal beater ever SR or higher?). And a pretty cheap crafting system that's not just there for crafting trash cards almost nobody uses (Card Trader). The only thing in Duel Links that I like over Master Duel is the presence of the characters from the series, but that's not enough to bring me back. The skills were nice, but they were really only there to offset how incomplete the decks actually were.
Normal beaters were SR’s because when the game first came out, those were actually valuable cards. Though I do agree it makes grinding pointless as the rarity system has no consistency in duel links
I wish they add something similar to the crafting system from MD to DL, at least within the same box, lets say I want book of moon and I get all other UR but that card I want, let me delete other 3 ur from that same box to exchange from another UR from that box, that would be cool or better than how we are now. Either they do something with duel links or this is its last year.
Crafting. That's why. I have mostly moved to Master Duel, but man. I was whaling hard on DL, it feels nice to not feel that used and abused when I pull multiple playsets of cards I'll never use. I will say that master duel is fun, but between the best of 1 and the random scrub stomps of nurse burn/exodia cook I'd like to see something done about that. I'd also like to see more of a skill range because the quality of player between Gold 1 to Plat 5 is a massive canyon.
@@kyle7362 they just need more ranks. But if you get the hand traps and staples required almost any deck can win a best of 1. I'm climbing with timelords and lunalights. Playing off meta decks leads to massive misplays from opponents.
@@ubadman1 I respect rogue though because it requires some level of reading instead of golden man set 4, or any of the countless tribrigade/drytron yes clickers. Just ftk is the only rogue I'm heavily against mostly due to it being a bo1 format
Gunzblazing died, came back to life, learned a whole new yugioh format, and retained all his followers. Even gained new ones. Unironically I admire your professionalism.
DuelLinksMeta: Nobody is going to stop me from resurrecting Gunzblazing, and regain my title as the world's greatest duelist! Gunzblazing: What's up my Boyz? Gunzblazing here.
I totally feel the same with the skill ceiling comments. I had so much fun with my ranked climb as I improved my understanding of my deck and used various setups to outplay my opponents even going as far to have some epic anime comebacks. It feels so rewarding to master these complex decks and interactions to overcome tough situations. The f2p friendliness also helps in keeping me hooked for much longer.
One thing I can say for sure is that I never brag to my friend about beating meta deck when I played duel links. In Master Duel I've experienced so much big brain moment that made me completely hooked. Not to mention I keep learning something new about MY deck with every fight. Did you know that Sky striker secondary destruction effect from After Burner and Jamming wave is NON TARGET even tho you literally choose something in field to activate it? crazy huh? I lost several match vs Chaos Max until I realize this by accident.
@@weis2098 Try it. Super useful against non targetable enemy.. Also it cannot be negated once it's first effect proc'd. Another tips for mirror match, do you know that you can prevent enemy widow anchor stealing your monster by negating it's effect first via your own widow anchor?
Having played the TCG for so long, I appreciated Duel Links for what it offered. It had an anime twist to it. You got to relive some old anime moments. The voice lines, the little quests, the mini-games. It was refreshing to play a slower meta -- and to play a game, where the meta grew over time. It felt like I was going through a time machine throughout several of the eras. But an alternate timeline. Honestly, had quite a bit of fun and found the game to be reasonably skillful -- granted the ceiling's lower than the TCG. I liked that cards that would be terrible in the TCG was actually incredibly good in Duel Links. And vice versa. It was really charming, but I got burnt out. I quit once. And I came back once. But after that comeback, I think I'm set. I quite like my account on there, but it's hard to go back; you went over a lot of what I hated. I kind of had to play it damn near obsessively just to grind for the exclusive time-locked content. There was constantly some new quest to go and unlock. Cards were locked in character levels and it'd take weeks to finally unlock. Buying packs always felt like a scam -- and no crafting system, while also shoveling so many boxes our way every 2-4 weeks or so. Even if I purposely ignored several boxes, I still had to farm those gems doing really asinine things like clicking on trash cans and lamp posts for 1-3 gems here and there. The whole experience just became a chore. Furthermore, having to build a farming deck just for one character to maximize drop rate stuff just feels...kind of dumb looking back. Was it kind of fun/creative? Yes. But I don't want to be spending some number of hours actively stalling and slow playing the AI just to get a 10x drop -- and for them to not even be what I want. Honestly, the worst offender though, is getting bombarded with text -- especially if you've been away for a while.
I used to play duel links a lot. Up until about a year ago I was playing it like a full time job. As a f2p player you had to do that. But eventually after realising how much time I was sacrificing away from real life things just to be able to craft a somewhat competitive deck every once in a while on duel links, I decided to quit cold turkey and I never came back. I was very skeptical about master duel because I didn’t want to fall back into the trap of playing master duel like a full time job as a f2p player. Luckily I gave the game a shot and I’m very happy with the generosity of this game. Maybe it won’t stay like that forever but right now I’m having a great time. If down the road the game becomes toxic with exclusive card releases and pay to win models then I will quit. We will see what happens 🙂
i kinda have problems with getting addicted to games too. that's why i just refuse to touch DL. I tried MD too, played it for a week at launch and it was fun then stopped. I just don't trust Konami with valuing my time as a player. so I'm happy with waiting for it to come out, just to play for a week with multiple decks (Phantasm Spiral, Witchcrafters, invoked, shaddolls, dogmatika, exodia, crusadia, magistus) and finishing solo mode. i didn't buy the pass since i knew I won't be staying so i spent that on a game mat (gear town). overall it was good. I'll just watch people play it from now on. happiest delete of my life.
@@coins_png my advice is to take that extra time and focus on learning an IRL skill that will make you money. The way I justified quitting duel links was 'I can keep playing duel links like a full time job and get nowhere, or I can learn a skill and get a job that pays well which will benefit my life and allow me to just buy packs and cards when I want'. Now I am actively applying to junior coding jobs, hoping for that first one will come my way :) After that I will have plenty of money to spend on these games if I wish.
The thing that annoyed me about duel links, is some powerful staples were behind pay wall. You could get maybe 1 f2p, but then the selection box had a limit to how many packs you could get with gems. So you're incentivized to spend actual money. Oh and to top if off, you had a time limit for how long you have access to the selection box. The nail in the coffin for me was spending money to build a good resonator deck, making it to KOG, then for the reset they nurfed the resonator skill, causing the deck to fall outta the meta. So I spent this money on my deck just for it to get nerfed not even a month later. So I said goodbye to duel links in October and haven't looked back. One thing I do miss about duel links was the chat rooms. I stuck to room 1 because there was something ridiculous always happening that always had me laughing. I miss you room 1 and all you awful toxicity.
Ya the selection boxes killed the game for me, and remember the mini box meta? The era of mini boxes like darklords? They released them super overpowered just to nerf it for the next mini box meta, then they need those for the next mini box meta. Those days were scummy, hence why I quit that game and I didn't even start Master Duels cuz I'm just too tired to start everything from the ground up
I absolutely loved playing Mermatlantean SSA in Duel Links. And the Mythic Depths skill is what made it even remotely viable. Since without it, you have to rely on starting with the Umi field spell or search (both of which heavily limits your combos). I wish they'd bring the skills back, and without it being tied to characters (seriously I'm basically telling the opponent that I'm playing mermails when I use Mako or Reginald lol). But Master Duel is insanely fun right now so it's not too bad that I don't have character skills.
@@michaeldavid1566 OTK doesn't happen as often, since half of the time my opponent has a way around it. Not to mention 50% of all matches, you go first which really hurts your combos. So having Citadel Whale (quick negate) which searches for SSA (autowin battle phase, temporary banish + backrow protect) gives good board control for when you go first or don't have the OTK.
I am a duel links player and I like it for the reasons you list as disadvantages. As a full time professional with many successful hobbies and work commitments, I really enjoy the simplified format of duel links. No shame to those who play master duel. Thanks for your videos, they are awesome, better than dkayed!
IMO opinion it also is a pro, but i do think MD is the better game overall. For me Duel Links is so different its almost a completely different game, and that is how it should be seen.
I'm not sure how long you have been playing Duel Links but gunsblazing used to be more popular than dkayed. Problem was guns wanted to be a variety streamer or explore other things but for Dkayed his true love is Yugioh way back from when he was a kid.
I will still play both, although it feels so much better playing Master Duel. Pretty much I will never spend money on Duel Links again, but will continue to casually play it during MD maintenance or when I'm on the go and have a few minutes to spare.
I had about 150 hours into duel links on my last account. I saved gems up for months. Got 10k through sheer grind. The day I went to spend them, MD released. Haven't gone back since. Glad I spent months grinding gems lol
I’ll miss the skills and anime character lines/music, but like you said, Duel Links feels like a tutorial compared to Master Duel. I would love to see a speed duel mode in Master Duel. That would effectively end Duel Links. Also, I played Duel Links but moved on to Master Duel. I haven’t played Duel Links in a couple years though
Tbh master duel is really fun though it would be amazing if they add the characters and lines and those 3D. Shadings duel links has,it gives the game soul
I started playing Yu-Gi-Oh in early 2017 (January, to be precise) and I got into Duel Links when 5D's world came out (September 2018) and I simply kept playing ever since. Although I still played, and do play, the TCG. I've spent $2,500 on physical shiny cardboard. Which in comparison, playing DL for nearly 4 years and only having spent $200 felt like I was enjoying the Yu-Gi-Oh just as much, but without as big of an investment (especially when the pandemic started). But now that Master Duel came out, I am just absolutely amazed! I spent $30 on the special offers for the sake of getting some cards I needed for a deck, and also got some crafing material by dismantling some useles URs, and that by itself felt like such an amazing investment in comparison to Duel Links. I could make whatever I wanted, and I only spent money cause I was impatient and wanted some variety of decks, which makes me so happy to know how F2P this game is. Any who, with that said, I'm still gonna be playing Duel Links, as I enjoy aspects of it regardless. And after playing the game for so long, I essentially have all required staples on top of always having a Tiered Meta Deck, so I can survive quite well with PvE and PvP. (Also because of my RUclips channel, which is one of the reasons I try to make new decks so that I can review them.)
In Duel Links even when you are paying it's not guaranteed you will get the card you want. In Master Duel you don't need to pay at all to make one solid deck at the start and you can dismantle and craft cards, that is the best selling point at least for me.
I am from duel links and I still play it. I appreciate the change of pace from master duel and it is much easier to play at work. They are both good games and finally being able to play an amazing tcg simulator is awesome.
I actually was first introduced to Yu Gi Oh in the TCG. I played online everytime I wanted but it felt like I didn't know anything about the game. So, I tried playing in Duel Links so that I could learn how to play properly and I did. I learned how the general rulings work, how to chain and how to build decks (among other things). And after a year of only playing in Duel Links and getting to the higher ranks I got bored of the exact same problems as you did, so I quited and started playing occasionally online in the bigger formats. Nowadays I feel like I can't go back to Duel Links because the TCG and OCG formats have way more complexity that makes dueling a little more fun to learn and play.
whilst I can still normal summon aleister in duel links, I can't normal summon inspector boarder in duel links so it's really an open and shut case also the crafting system is a godsend
It’s funny I was feeling nostalgic for the game and picked up duel links about 3 days before MD came out. I played a bit of DL and really enjoyed the characters and skills plus the music, but it’s a bit much to try to get the deck I want, and with MD out now I feel less incentive to spend any money on DL. Would be nice to see something like it in MD but the whole game just feels so good to play I don’t see myself going back.
Same story stopped playing DL around 2019.. came back after listening to Current Hype of MD . To DL. But missed so mich that started to play MD will miss DL for some aspects. But pay wall was way to high that even my mirror wall felt shorter.. and power creep was damn.. still remember after a while it was only grind for gem so that i can buy new pack
I'm from DL and I still play both of them. Actually, I've gotten my 10st kog last month and that was my ultimate and final goal to become the 1st Bolivian duelist accomplishing the 10 kogs and thats quite a marvellous goal for me, you know. Greetings from Bolivia dear Gunz, you were my first inspiration in order to start playing DL and motivated me from the begining :')
Duel Links would be way better as an app if it had the same card aquisition model as master duel. The nice thing about duel links is that there is no master pack fluff in secret packs, so a single gem gives you more value (if you ignore that you may have to dig 200 deep into a box to get a single card). I prefer the simpler mechanics of duel links but the gacha style makes it ultimately worse. I would like a (skilless?) speed duel format in master duel with a very heavy banlist (bring the power level closer to around N/R format and keep big combo pieces out). Would make the game way more accessible to new players
I played DL a while ago but I stopped playing when I switched phones and couldn't do a data transfer without a Konami account. Now I'm fully playing YGO on master duel.
Hey guns, use to love your channel back when I played duel links. I've been clean for about a year and a half from DL and I can say that I'm much happier now on Master Duel because it's everything I wish Duel Links was. I'm very pleased to see your debut here on MD though and will definitely watch your content!
Yo guns, been following for awhile now. I started playing duel links and found your channel years ago, I don't play DL anymore but I kept watching your Yu-Gi-Oh vids, now that you are playing DM it's really fun to watch, it's more variables and things to do/counter, it's way funnier to watch imo
If you like wifu’s you should try Aromages I’ve had some pretty good success with those girls and they can be pretty explosive if you don’t get rid of them fast enough. Plus it’s so easy to come back with because if your opponent can’t deal with your back row you’re prolly gonna win with all the extra lp gains.
I played Duel Links for some time but not on an extreme. I played the Ancient Gears there quite a lot and I do still on Master duel. I quit Duel links some years ago and once Master Duel came out I've been playing it here and there. It's nice to be able to just make a deck you find either fun or is just generally good. Accessibility in Master Duel is amazing.
I did play some duel links and followed your channel somewhat but I always loved master format more and play it irl to this day. So Im glad master duel is so f2p friendly. I immediately crafted my favorite decks, didn't take too long, as oposed to duel links where it takes forever for a f2p.
Only problem I have with master duel is it feels like I’m not even playing the game. My opponent is either playing solitaire or just 10 negates so I can’t even play the game
Bunsblazing!!! I just recently went back to links. I stopped playing due to starting a family but mainly because they introduced pendulums lol. Same thing happened in tcg. I decided to give links a try again because i got nostalgic and missed the early days of links back when farming for enemy controller was so difficult and my first kog was with Dino beat. I’m hoping something like the early days of links comes out. Goodluck with master duel and I’m glad your back
I came from Duel links and used to watch ur vids back when u played the game. I’ve moved on to master duel and don’t regret it. The game is just fun as heck
I’m playing both. Duel Links when i want casual and fun only with friends, or just a timekiller when waiting for something or someone. The I also play Master Duel since it feels like the real and original Yugioh without the “skills” feature.
I think at this moment the only good thing on DL are the characters and their voice line in certain card that they use either in manga/anime but in terms of accessibility MD is far superior and much more convenient as well as F2P friendly
In Duel Links, I had to restart my account once so I built a KOG Ritual Beast deck in about a week, but my gem supply was dry, so I had to wait 2 months to make another fully functional deck (f2p, of course). In Master Duel, still f2p, I made 2 plat 1 worthy decks (fluffals and VW) in less than a week and now, after almost 3 weeks of playing, I also made True Dracos, Trains for the event, and Darklord, and I’m working on Adamancipators. It’s just so much easier to get to the level where you want to be. Although there’s one comment I saw where someone compliment the changes in meta in Duel Links, which I can wholeheartedly vouch for. As someone who played since the Dunames Dark Witch pack, when Naturias and Hammer Shark beatdown were meta, I’ll miss the development of a complex card database over time, but that sentiment does not outshine the greatness of MD.
I quit duel links in 2019. I remember in 2016 when it first launched, I had a lot of fun with it and got my brother and his gf into it. We had some good times playing it but it got to a point where it got kind of repetitive and stale. All of guns points are valid in this video. Everything from waiting several minutes just to get into ranked to waiting behind an event or box release to get certain cards. With that said I have also enjoyed speed duels as it’s the physical version of the game and had a lot of fun there. Both speed duel and duel links are simplistic and easy to pick up. Something master duel will struggle to offer. However, Master duel for me has been really fun and I could see myself playing it for a while. It was a much needed upgrade from the days of duelingbook. I’ve recently stopped playing master duel and started playing goat and random card drafts with friends in person. There’s something about building a deck from scratch and using the cards you have to beat your friends that you just don’t get from any of these. I always seem to go back to a simpler time of yugioh where synchros were the hardest thing to get over. We’ve also added XYZs and even some link monsters to spice it up. Yugioh can be fun in many different formats and I think the key is there’s no one size fits all. You’re going to have your veterans, newbies, try hards, casuals, and anime onlys. I think the best suggestion would be to integrate all formats into master duel that way everyone can just get onto hub and play various different platforms and not have to fight for player count. As for now I’ll mostly be playing a goat-ish physical game with friends in person. To each their own. Just enjoy yugioh any way you want to!
I used to play master duels back when Gravekeepers was top meta deck, then it got power crept like hell and I stopped playing. Now I'm enjoying Master Duel like crazy
OMG 😂 YES 😂 Every time i got on duel linkz here is 50 text boxes about the last event ending, the new event beginning, some overworld event, the new boxes, a reminder for ur mom’s birthday, it was ridiculous
As someone whose been deep in the ygopro and edopro scene, master duel is really fun. My only problem is I’m a deck builder, not a ranked duelist. I want to build and not have to climb a ladder I don’t care about. Hopefully they add an exhibition mode like the event where I can just play my jank without worry
I quit Duel Links many years ago. I once streamed the game with 100 concurrent viewers making top 100 for the NA region. I never cared to come back or switch to this game when I seen it came out. Very grateful you were my first Twitch Streamer I found from YT back when you had less than 30 viewers. The whole last gamble decks with Joey was by far the best quality content I rocked after you. Glad to hear you're having fun again and streaming. Last I knew you were working on a game and quit streaming.
I dropped duel links a long while ago, but i did play during your era. I even dueled you on one stream years ago. Duel links really isnt what it used to be and i cant see myself going back either. i've played master duel around 150 hours already and i'm in love with the game
To answer your question, guns. I'm one of the older viewers. I've been subscribed to you since 2018. I do still play Duel Links, although I'm definitely losing interest, seeing as how Konami are fine with killing the game. And speaking of killing, this sort of mentality is why I'm not gonna get into Master Duel. It stands to reason that they can do the same as DL to MD. If I wanna play the TCG, there's YGO Pro. But hey, I'll still watch your videos. Konami can't stop me from doing that.
odd thing I found out about myself. duel links rankings puts me in a rage when I lose. but master duel's rankings im pretty much chill when I lose. its weird i know lol
I've played DL since 2018 and drop it when Master Duel released. It is so much fun to play in Master Duel cause they give you freedom to craft any card you desire and unlocking secret packs!!!
I started playing duel links a couple weeks before master duel released and I had never played yugioh at all before that. After playing master duel I just can't go back to links. It's a good way to get into the game to learn most of how the game works. But, the polish, the crafting system, and just generally playing a more real version of the game in master duel makes it really hard to want to go back.
I actually started playing Duel Links again on mobile after Master Duel release (not frequently, but when I have some time to kill). I had stopped playing for maybe a year or two, but MD definitely reinvigorated my interest in Yugioh. I'll probably still play DL casually but won't be putting much more money to it, if at all. Like Dkayed keeps saying on his streams, DL has a big accessibility problem because of its monetization model, where in MD there's no barrier to entry on making whatever deck you want.
Been subbed from early Duel Links (Pre GX era) but stopped playing Duel Links AGES ago because it just wasn't worth it due to the absolutely shit rates. Been on Master Duel from week 1 and I'm kinda obsessed. It's definitely not perfect and I don't know long its gonna hold me long term but I'm having a blast for all the reasons you mentioned and more. The fact that I can just start a new account and have a deck ready to go in less than an hour is insane to me. I really get to experiment and see what decks I actually like before committing to a single account.
I'm here from masterduel. I specifically like your content due to how much more chill it is. I hate the excessively grandiose content that some dudes create. I just wanna hear regular volume content... why do these guys play it up so much??? I digress, this content is good stuff.
Also,I played duel links last in 2018 but since my phone's absolute BS I didn't keep going but The moment Master duel released I literally couldn't stop playing,Especially when I got back into Yugioh a while back from rewatching the anime so that was good timing
Been a long time DL player since release and follower of yours since the Tenkabito days. Good times lol but I agree it’s hard to go back to DL since MD has more to offer. Will miss the banger tracks on DL and the voice lines to BM but it’s time to move on. Will probably log in to DL once a while when bored but KOG or pve grinds I’m sure as hell done with.
Been watching you since early duel link days! I did end up quitting after a few months into duel links once all the gems ran out. Loving the content!!! Keep it up
I’ve never played Duel Links but I’ve watched your videos on it as well as your card lore videos. When I heard about the solo mode in Master Duel I was hoping it would be like your lore videos but I do like what we got. I think my favorite of your DL videos is the Kuriboh with two Spiked Chains.
I remember playing Duel Links few years back, I was saving up gems and playing some budget blue eyes deck in the meantime. Anyway, few weeks forward I decided to dump all of my gems on packs. I really wanted to play Gusto deck, it looked so fun and the good news was that I only needed to buy from one or two sets to get all the cards. I opened a shit ton of packs and I only pulled like 2SR and 1UR that I needed and I still needed like 5UR and 4SR and then I realized I can't craft shit. That was the last time DL saw me. Now when Master Duel released I was able to craft almost any deck within 2 days literally as I got about 16k gems just from rewards and new player quests
My main grip with Duel links was how grindy the events are and how you needed to empty out boxes 3 fuckin times to get what you need. I myself wasn't really big on pvp as the character aspect of the game is what drew me in. It was around when 5ds first dropped that I started to feel irritated towards that game with Konami deciding to lock character signature cards to either their skills or "usually" a damn main box. People genuinely forgot you used to get signature for free when first unlocking the character. And then theres making the character archetype decks. Before the structure deck Yusei was easily the worst one to make when it came to this. Over 3 seperate boxes to get the cards you need to make a decent junk deck. As someone who only spent money two times in that entire games life the grind was exhausting. Down right irritating after the nerfed the auto duel ai intelligence practically forcing you to manually farm. When Master Duel dropped it gave me instant relief to see all those secret packs just lying in wait. In my excitement I made about 5 or 6 decks without even considering what was meta. Just went out and got what I wanted without a hassle. (Metaphys rogue is so satisfying) Grinding for even more gems on this game is far less of a drag than in Duel Links. Deck building is amazing and its where I spend most of my time in this game. And my god the music! They did not have to go that hard on this games soundtrack. Shit sounds like the sub version of an anime soundtrack. The quality of life changes and the huge pool of archetypes encouraging everyone to run their own thing (barely see any meta below plat) in pvp as well as the solo mode are huge reasons why I don't care about duel links that much anymore. Personally I'll only go back to duel links for character events or any new original event that looks fun to take part in. Everything else, especially pvp, isn't even worth looking into anymore. And ugh! Don't get me started on those grindy ass raids. They were fun the first time around. Now they suck tremendous gorilla d**k. (The Yubel event is still the most fun I've had due to how original her deck was, how hard it was to duel the first time around, the atmosphere it added to the game, and the environmental change. That there was one thing they have over Master duel but it ain't enough to keep me around. )
Not gonna lie, I don't mind you're in Master Duel. There's a lot of things to explore in Master Duel, so I'm looking forward to seeing you have fun with them.
I still play Duel Links, when theres not much time or I'm outside I play Duel Links but when I'm at home & have a lot time I'll always go for Master Duel to waste my time. Duel Links became like a "mini version" of Master Duel for me, like Master Duel 2 Go :D
I always wanted something like Master Duel from Konami. When Duel Links came out I thought that was going to be it, but I never even tried it since it was a simplified version and I just was not into that.
I wish I had your long duels. In the last couple of hours in MD, duels don't go past turn 3. Either they vomit half their deck uninterrupted, or they surrender as soon as they see a handtrap.
Yeah, as you know Guns, I'm a player who started in Duel Links. I don't play anymore, but had been playing DL since like early 2017 when ShadyPenguinn started playing it, but got hooked on it after finding your Twitch, and until "the end of 2019/start of 2020"-ish when I basically quit for good. Duel Links ended up being more and more powercrept (like you said), and I really started to dislike the grind portion of the game, that I sank countless hours into without really ever going to use the cards, or skills etc. Also I really got bummed out when my favorite deck I ever played (L/D Agents: Hyperion Synchro OTK) got nerfed to unplayable status when the "Light & Dark" skill got hit. When then XYZ got added, it really just killed my motivation to keep playing. When Master Duel dropped however, I got inspired by you (yet again) to pick it up and I'm enjoying it a lot. Tho I'm not confident in my wide-scale deck piloting, I've spent quite a lot of time in building and testing some decks I really enjoyed in Master Duel, and climed to Diamond both seasons thus far. I started with Thunder Dragons, as that's an archetype from the TCG that I always found to be really cool, and is what I used to climb ranked. I recently built two more meta-appropriate decks in Drytron and Adamancipators, and find that I really like combo decks! Especially since I can use Solo Mode to practice combos and such with no time constraint. (Part of why I don't like ranked as much yet is due to me wanting more time to think on plays/lines/options etc.) Sorry for the rant, just wanted to share:) ~Keep up the good work bro!
Literally downloaded duel links because my k51 isnt compatible and after playing masterduel and getting back into yugioh after 16 years i realized i missed it and i want a pocket yugioh it kinda reminds me of yugioh from when i was a kid because of its simplicity but master duels pretty top tier
I started with links and then moved to the tcg, when covid began I went back to links because I wanted something to play and now I play tcg and Master duel I've been following gunz since links and I'm very happy he's back
I don't play Duel Links anymore because I realize how much time I need to spend into PvE in order to get gems, cards, skills. In Master Duel I just need to do Ranked in order to get more cards, more resources. That's what I wanted. And it's crazy how much expansive Duel Links if you compare with Master Duel, I don't want to spend all my resources and then my cards are banned or limited, in master duel at least I can dismantle.
btw about numeron thing you just talk about at the end of the video, i just remember dueling again a numeron player summon all 5 of the numeron xyz and activate it at the first turn. after that i just summon my nekroz uncorn and he like why my numeron dosen't come out? where is it? WHERE IS IT? and he lose.
I've come from duel links... The reason i quit duel links is simply becouse, as a free to play player you have to save up gems for months in order to build a deck out of a small box and then hope ur deck doesnt fall of the tierlist in 2 weeks... This game is much more accesable but as a filthy duel links casual, man its hard to get into, as the decks are super complicated, but i've been having fun with a code talker deck for the past few days and man, once you learn these combos ita super fun. Anyways i've been watching the stream since almost the release of duel links and i gotta say i'm glad to see you back my dude!
I started out with Duel Links but I had a lot of problems with it even before Master Duel was released and I quit around the time Fur Hire got hit on the banlist. I tried going back a while ago but I figured I'd just wait until MD was released and try that instead. Master Duel has been a lot more fun than DL was for me. I only wish that there were more ways to earn gems, especially with solo play. I've cleared out all of the solo content that gives gems and now the only option I have left is spamming Ranked duels and I understand that's the point of the game, but there's only so many times I can duel against the same annoying decks over and over before it starts to get stale. On top of that, I've got three completed decks now and I really like them, but it's not hard to get burnt out when you're playing the same three decks over and over, and against the same decks over and over. I want to be clear that I'm not simply bashing the game. I've been loving Master Duel, these are just the few gripes that I have and I have hopes that things will get better in time with events and such. And I know Konami has to make money with the game, they have obligations and shareholders, but I don't think being a little bit more generous with gems is going to bankrupt them. Plus, when it's easier to get new cards and build new decks, more players will stick around and be more likely to spend money on other things, like cosmetics.
I'm a yugi boomer and stopped playing around 06, I wanted to get into duel links but just didn't. But MD gives me my yugi boomer feels and brings me up to speed on all the new mechanics
I stopped playing Duel Links when XYZ just got introduced. I recently got back into it because of Master Duel. My cards were easy to adjust with the new banlist and I could still play well despite all the new cards that have come out since. The biggest advantage Duel Links has over Master Duel is SPEED. I wait for a really long time for my opponent to finish their turn on Master Duel while Duel Links has me actively engaged. The amount of times I get OTK on Master Duel was so high when I reached Platinum while bricking is the only thing that will really stop me from being able to play past the first turn in Duel Links.
When at home, I play MD because I have all the comfort and idk, time? When outside (e.g. work break, on-transit, waiting for your food order, etc), I play DL on the phone because MD takes time, I might not be able to complete a duel within several minutes.
Coming from Genshin, wanted another mobile game and someone who never played or watched Yugioh, this is engaging, nothing repetitive, and no time limit during duels. Three days, using getting used to Sky Stryker deck cause the art looks nice now I'm silver rank 1.
Used to play DL almost everyday, but when master duel came out, I almost don't play it anymore and the main reason why is because it is refreshingly different because the meta in DL is soo boring and boxes has become more trash. The bad part of it is that Konomi isn't helping the situation and make it even worse.
I moved to master duel. My favorite thing about duel links was summoning the boss monster and seeing the cool animations but i hated logining in and being forced to click through 50 text boxes
I moved on and only re downloaded the DL a couple of days ago to see if Konami does make a crafting system and I was shocked to see how little resources I have if that system ever comes to duel links and got depressed and deleted it again.
Master Duel is the kind of YuGiOh game I was wanting to play when I started playing Duel Links. I don’t regret the time I played Duel Links but I don’t miss it either after quitting. I hope Master Duel will do well.
I actually never played duel links, but subbed for the card lore videos. I followed duel links meta but never cared as a TCG player. I love your channel and the master duel content is great!
I loved you duel links videos but I'm also really happy to see one of my favorite yugioh content creators come to master duel so I can relate to their content.
I quit Duel Links a long time ago. You basically have to play it non stop to keep up with it if you're going f2p, and if you take a break from it and come back you have so much to catch up with.
I really liked quick duels in duel links. But due to power creep, turns need to take longer and longer. Once I felt like I was fighting against the timer instead of the opponents, I stopped playing. And it's such a pain to click through all the event text.
I played DL since the GX era, I was already super sour on DL for the last several months prior to MD, so I was likely going to drop it in favor of MD regardless. Now that MD is out my opinion hasn't changed a bit, if anything it only got stronger. Uninstalled DL the day after MD dropped and haven't felt the slightest urge to play it yet.

The Holyness of this made me cry 😢🙏
aahaaahahahhaaahhahaaahhahah
Bro how you get me thrice ?
Youbare not meant to spend all your gems in 1 go. Spread them out and use them on your lucky days
I used to play Aromas in DL. I wanted to get a "Dry Winds"card, an SR not even UR...
It took me until the last 10 packs to get ONE.
I hated it so much.
The box system is really bad for a digital game too, glad MD doesn't have that. The secret packs are, oddly enough, way better.
Moving from duel links to this game it feels nice, having the freedom to make any deck you want without being heavily restricted by pay walls and your wallet, it’s satisfying
yea we can farm dream ticket in master duel XD(CP)
@@MsMiDC this makes me sad because I was hoping to get a gravekeeper deck IRL and in whatever games I played since it did me so well on DL 😔 lol
I gave up on Duel Links a couple years ago and came back when Master Duel was announced, and man I am not going back to Duel Links after trying MD is just so mush satisfying in general
If they add more crafting gems, the game would be better. The game is great, and it is good to have you back gunsblazing.
I have 3 different decks, more than 4200 gems left (and haven't 100% clear solo) and I haven't spend anything in the game.
Tbh they only need to give us the ability to trade ur cards from the same box or at least trade the 4+ copy into a dream ticket.
i made 3 decks in md
I have 3 decks and a possible 4th gotta test it they all random rogue decks
Plus, you can create a second account 👌🏻
So true!!
that i agree with
Normal beaters were SR’s because when the game first came out, those were actually valuable cards.
I member digging 80+ packs just to find 1 "R" rarity card in duel links, that so annoying
Crafting.
I feel like once they add the other ranks past platinum we'll see less cheesy decks in high tiers.
staying in gold so rogue deck can work, its feel awful when keep losing on plat
the skill gap between plat and gold is absurd. I went from near undefeated in gold to losing 80% of the time in plat.
Same.
@@JeSt4m wait what, i never noticed that even though i use both of those cards in my deck.
@@ImPDimeo that's awesome.
for me, I'm trying to make it as a concept artist one day.
@@coins_png awesome! I hope that works out really well for you 🙂
@@ImPDimeo you too!
I'll be honest, I prefer speed duels and the cards list in Duel Links, but the craft system is literally too great for me to go back to Duel Links
100% , crafting is trash in dl. Can only pick shitty cards from a small pool and it's super p2w.
So true! You can’t even transfer your cards to duel links! What’s up with that?
Those days were scummy, hence why I quit that game and I didn't even start Master Duels cuz I'm just too tired to start everything from the ground up
I have played Duel Links for 5 years since it release. But when Master Duel come out I never go back to Duel Link again...
But Master Duel is insanely fun right now so it's not too bad that I don't have character skills.
hey a fellow mermatlantean player. how often do you get the megalo otk in your matches?
I love how seamless everything is with Master Duel, like it only takes a second to loadup and play on Steam.
Was kind of putting down duel links before master duel came out. Now that it's here I don't think I'm likely to ever go back to duel links.
Nowadays I feel like I can't go back to Duel Links because the TCG and OCG formats have way more complexity that makes dueling a little more fun to learn and play.
whilst I can still normal summon aleister in duel links, I can't normal summon inspector boarder in duel links so it's really an open and shut case
also the crafting system is a godsend
Hey congrats!!
I'm sorry to do this but it should be, "10th"
By the time I started watching watching your duel links you were like 2 months away from quitting RUclips, great to have you back
Duel Links would be way better as an app if it had the same card aquisition model as master duel.
Hey guns,
use to love your channel back when I played duel links.
WHATS BEEN ON YOUR MIND GUNSS??? YOU CANT LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THAT
If you like wifu’s you should try Aromages I’ve had some pretty good success with those girls and they can be pretty explosive if you don’t get rid of them fast enough.
Its awesome to see someone else playing Magical Musket Amazement. My favorite deck that got me into Platinum
HEAVY emphasis on the f2p portion. New packs every month to powercreep the deck you just built with the little gems you had.
Duel links is just so expensive. I made 4 meta decks in master duels with no real money
OMG 😂 YES 😂
Every time i got on duel linkz here is 50 text boxes about the last event ending, the new event beginning, some overworld event, the new boxes, a reminder for ur mom’s birthday, it was ridiculous
Duel links was amazing from 2016-2018
I dropped duel links a long while ago, but i did play during your era.
Big fan of yours from old duel links days and definitely haven't been back since master duel dropped glad to see it's brought ya back
I used to play Duel Links eventually quit due to the game feeling super repetitive, but of course i still watch my guy gunsblazing
I barely ever played duel links. I enjoyed your duel links content. I've been playing a ton of master duel, and I'm glad to see you are too.
Nothing wrong with playing both. DL for animation and quick duels & MD for when you have time to sit back and have a long duel.
I wish I had your long duels. In the last couple of hours in MD, duels don't go past turn 3. Either they vomit half their deck uninterrupted, or they surrender as soon as they see a handtrap.
Once you go plat there's no such thing as long duel.
it's either you quit or they quit..
(Part of why I don't like ranked as much yet is due to me wanting more time to think on plays/lines/options etc.)
Sorry for the rant, just wanted to share:)
~Keep up the good work bro!
Literally downloaded duel links because my k51 isnt compatible and after playing masterduel and getting back into yugioh after 16 years i realized i missed it and i want a pocket yugioh it kinda reminds me of yugioh from when i was a kid because of its simplicity but master duels pretty top tier
I started with links and then moved to the tcg, when covid began I went back to links because I wanted something to play and now I play tcg and Master duel
I've been following gunz since links and I'm very happy he's back
I don't play Duel Links anymore because I realize how much time I need to spend into PvE in order to get gems, cards, skills.
I’m on Master duel now and I said peace to Scam Links
I stopped playing Duel Links when XYZ just got introduced. I recently got back into it because of Master Duel. My cards were easy to adjust with the new banlist and I could still play well despite all the new cards that have come out since. The biggest advantage Duel Links has over Master Duel is SPEED. I wait for a really long time for my opponent to finish their turn on Master Duel while Duel Links has me actively engaged. The amount of times I get OTK on Master Duel was so high when I reached Platinum while bricking is the only thing that will really stop me from being able to play past the first turn in Duel Links.
9:06 truer words have never been spoken! 😅
I will always appreciate duel links for getting me back into the tcg, but, like training wheels, now that I have master duel I don't need to go back
> Guns talk about powercreep being slower
> Next set has swordsoul and DPE
Rip guns
I happily Uninstalled duel links ,wasted so much money on it..
After playing master duel from playing duel links so long I prefer master duel. I actually got into duel links because of your channel.
I miss being able to trash talk my opponent after a comeback situation, but master duel is just complete.
Ikr? Far far superior
