I thank God he cals the big east games now. It's a real treat for me. He calls many of my nova games.
Yeah, he works for Fox now so he mainly does Big East games since that's like the only contract Fox has in CBB. They used to have him call Champions League games on Fox (still do?) but everyone hated him lol

Hearing Gus call all those NCAA Tourney games made them that much more epic.
The fact that CBS let Johnson go, spurning a promotion to #1 play-by-play man in favor of the aging monotony of Nantz, is a travesty of monumental proportions. The absence of Gus's voice, style, & unparalleled enthusiasm from the Tourney will be glaringly conspicuous and sorely missed.

Greatest announcer ever. Watching these just give me goosebumps. My favorite call ever my Gus Johnson would have to be when Gonzaga beat Florida in 1999 when he said "Gonzaga!! The slipper still fits!" He's amazing and everybody wants him back.

jtors5 is Joe bucks monotone, no excitement voice considered good announcing though? During like a 80 yard kr once, Joe bucks entire commentary of the electric return was to say the guys name 3 times, with no excitement, at 2-3 sec intervals. This guy brings excitement
I'll have to agree that Joe Buck is boring, but if he likes the team he can show some excitement. Gus is not boring, but silly at times.

This video is absolutely awesome...I just love anything Gus Johnson, and he really is sensational on all these clips...I love "the slipper still fits" one of Gus' earliest and best calls...definitely helped put him on the map.
as a Western Kentucky fan I'm a huge fan of Gus and watching this clip I'm happy that UCLA defeated Gonzaga

The Gonzaga - UCLA game was one of the most dramatic and improbable endings I've ever seen to a basketball game. UCLA basically needed 2 defensive stops in 10 seconds to win that game . . and they GOT IT. Just an unbelievable win that they pulled off.
CBS is going to regret not re-signing Gus Johnson. His voice is definitely missed in this tournament.
