    Note to anyone that’s outraged by wide cards:
    Scorecards aren’t there to reflect the competitiveness of a fight, or to paint a picture of how great the fight was. They’re there to tell you who won the most rounds.
    You can still have wide cards in a competitive fight if one fighter is winning the majority of the close rounds, and that’s what happened. I had it 9-3 (117-111). Struggled to give Taylor more than 3 clean rounds.

    • @johnny9092

      Well said! I thought the same with Loma vs Haney, very close rounds and depended what you want really. I thought Loma won by a round but was not upset Haney win as there were many back and forth rounds so i.e pick em rounds

      @joewhite22 21 день назад +1

      Yes, this is the trouble. You get a bunch of close rounds and if one person is siding one way and another person the other, then you'll have a large discrepancy in the scorecards and this leads to people getting outraged. If you want to be less outraged by scores in boxing then you need to find a way to make judging fights less subjective.

    Absolutely agree, scoring an even round has been stigmatised as indecisive. I wonder the impact if it was ENCOURAGED. Only give a round if you are sure of dominance. Would have problems, but may prevent a range of scoring that ultimately leaves the sport open to ridicule.

      Getting title fights is very difficult unless it's a mandatory defence, the belt holders aren't lining up ready to fight a good opponent. Teofimo Lopez's next opponent is Steve Clagget & if you know anything about him then you know way more about Boxing then I'll ever know. So if Catterall can't get a shot this year they may run this again simply for financial reasons. Just saying.🙂

    Two rounds in it, and credit to Josh for coming back. If he was struggling to make 140 I doubt if this would have been possible. However, I sense a slight erosion in reactions. Jack was punching through his guard, whereas a couple of years ago he would have caught or deflected these. If comes down to microseconds but ultimately signals that time has caught up with Josh at top level.

    Trilogy? Absolutely not. You said it's one a piece on DAZN but it really isn't, it's 2-0. The first fight was pretty much a one sided boxing clinic from Catterall including a knockdown with a decision that was a complete farce, and the second fight was closer but Catterall was still the clear winner, so if its 2-0 and Catterall likely has Taylor's number what is the point of doing it again.

    Taylor was tight he was barely landing anything for first 7 rounds I can see 117-111 I thought 116-112 people ring dude should watch it on tv cause even commentary was talking about shots that didn't land and top rank screwed maxi Hughes top rank is the most corrupt promotion

    After the 1st controversy to have 3 english judges was ridiculous and they were always gonna go with jack if it was close.

      People so bent out of shape by the first fight they are happy to go with the BS from last night. The judging (and the commentating) were ridiculous. No wonder Arum wont be back.

    First off, I don't mind either fighter, how ever I do feel Catterall won the first fight and won this fight, But Ade a man in you're position in boxing are you actually saying the judges gave round to Jack Catterall based on what happend two years ago because they didn't know how to score a round, stupid statements like that is what's wrong with the sport of boxing mate, bad shout that Ade, 🙄

    not a fan of yours Ade, I switched off halfway through the fight cos I sensed that yet another fix was in... glad to see C get the win finally, but your sport / biz boxing is totally corrupt - I really can't understand why someone like you would want to be part of this biz

    Catterall was dog tired after 6 rounds and never caught a second wind. Pot shutting doesn't win you fights, Taylor 7-5 for me but Taylor was clearly winning rounds, to say he only won 3 rounds is so disrespectful

      I just don’t see what you’re seeing. Even when tired Catterall landed the hurting blows, clean shots. Hurt him like crazy on the 11th and couple times late

      @ruthryan9173 21 день назад

      @@dantheman5607totally agree even when Taylor out the pressure on he was getting caught loads plus unable to land consistently …just bullying forward doesn’t guarantee you rounds of you still getting caught more often
