      You bet, I am happy to hear that the numbers were able to help! It is a bit surprising, but these light reviews take up a pile of time with all of the light measurements that they require to try to get accurate info. This is the kind of thing that I always wanted to see in a review though, so I am trying to make sure that I get it added in =)

      Thanks, I just sprouted 2 this morning in my SF 2x4 + sf2000. I am using slow release dry amendments, Earth Dust. I am a little concerned about the watering amounts. Looks a touch wet still but hopefully not too wet. I am thinking about 2.5 gallons of water filtered through a ceramic+carbon filter should be good once the dirt drys.

    Early! Great info I’m in my first grow with this similar setup except the lights I have are 2x vivosun vs1000’s so I’m kind of trying to relate to all this info because there isn’t much videos on vivosun leds as there is SF. Thank you for the time you put into this video much love

    • @TheHippieGeeks
      @TheHippieGeeks  3 года назад +5

      The VS1000 is pretty similar to the Spider Farmer SF-1000, though I haven't tested it so it is likely different in one way or another. I have an older review of the SF-1000 that you can look at as a comparison, though I need to actually re-do it this year as I have changed how i do things. This should give you a bit closer information to what you are looking for though =) ruclips.net/video/EAQyAN4BaHI/видео.html

    I just got mine yesterday, I constructed it today and it was a lot harder for this fat old longhair than i anticipated. Still, it looks like a quality tent , i love the overlapping material on the zippers to keep out any light leaks. I'm hoping that the SF2000 will generate enough light for the 4 smart pots that came with the kit. Still trying to figure out what the holes on the sides of the tent are for....lol
    Thanks for the video.

    You can mount the filter outside, but it's better to have the air pull through the filter rather than push out of it.
    The reason for this is the pre-filter cover will collect dust and other impurities from gathering inside of your carbon filter or fan or even the insides of your ducting.

      I use blue tape to mark my measurement points for light readings :)

    Hey, at what stage do you suggest using the inline fan?

    • @TheHippieGeeks
      @TheHippieGeeks  3 года назад +3

      We always have it going, just so that the hot air at the top is always getting cycled out and fresh air is always getting drawn in

      @@TheHippieGeeks Ok thanks, I also saw on another video that you have the SF 2000 light at 100 on the dimmer and 18"-16" away on week old seedlings, Ive heard PAR has to be at 200-300 for seedlings , but yours thrive at that very high PAR. Id like to try that but dont want to burn them. I watch your videos a lot keep up the good work :)

      Wow, I just saw your comment on that other video ... and there is no way that I would do that today. That video is almost two years old now, and I cannot remember having the lights that close, but if I did I am lucky that I didn't fry the plants. You are correct, that seedlings should have less light. I am guessing that this is before I was able to afford a PAR meter, and finally having that opened my eyes a lot. Now, we actually start seeds at around 100 PAR, and then start raising it from there.

      @@TheHippieGeeks Thanks Ive got them at 250-300 PAR but not much growth for plants a month old, so somethings wrong. Can you recommend any good books that can help with these aspects to a very new grower?

      Unfortunately there are not a lot of good books out there for growing cannabis, though there are quite a few decent RUclips channels you can watch. Check out this video, it may be able to help you out :ruclips.net/video/3yVEJsA2fk8/видео.html

    Is their site legit? Looks like it’s based off in China and their PayPal name is in Chinese. I just sent my order but it now seems very sketchy.

      @@TheHippieGeeks Aw dang. I googled if they’re legit and saw some reviews saying customer service was bad and those customers lost money. Just canceled my order. However it was $581 after using your discount code. Amazon was $659. That’s $70 difference ! Should I re order on their site or Amazon? Not sure if delivery time will be the same.

      If you want the peace of mind of Amazons easy returns, go with them. However while I have heard that dealing with returns can be a pain sometimes with Spider Farmer, I have never heard of anyone getting ripped off. Also remember, Paypal itself has some pretty iron clad protections, and if you feel that you are getting ripped off just report the transaction to them and you will typically get your money back that way as well.
