    I’ve got a 2012 Jeep Wrangler 2-dr, and I don’t think the doors have ever been off. Using a floor jack, a 4x4, and some WD-40, and after a few minutes the doors were able to be lifted off their hinges. Now that the hinge is lubricated with graphite, I am not anticipating any additional difficulties removing the doors. Thanks for your video. It offers another option to remove the doors of a Jeep.

      No problem, I got another video on installing plastic sleeves so you never have to worry about corrosion.

    Hello. Can you provide a link to the DuPont liners you recommend?

      Here it’s for 2 door but search the site if you have 4 door. These are the ones I used but there are others out there a lot cheaper.

    A jack and a 2x4 as close to the hinge as you can get and go slow… works every time

    • @motorcarnut
      @motorcarnut  2 года назад

      Well not if they are corroded and you will end up damaging the door. For your vehicle it may work but I don't recommend it.

      @@motorcarnut I learned the hard way prior to checking youtube, the jack worked like a charm on 3 of 4 of my doors would not recommend though in the grand scheme

      It works great if you are careful about it and don’t use much pressure. Not really much more pressure than it takes to lift the side of the Jeep by hand. I did that several times and released it, and it started lifting up. You just can’t be a gorilla about it that’s all.

    I meant the 2 bolts on interior per hinge not outside painted surface?

    • @motorcarnut
      @motorcarnut  3 года назад +1

      Yes they are painted as well but then you have to make sure you install them in the exact position or the door may be off a little

      Wow must of never been taken off. Try soaking the door hinges with penetrating oil over night

      @jonrichardson6028 if your doors were properly maintained should work or you may not have the experience to get them off

    What about unbolting hinge from inside jeep?

    • @motorcarnut
      @motorcarnut  3 года назад +1

      You can do that too if they are badly rusted. But you are going to break the painted surface of the bolts. Some people don’t like that. But a little touch up paint can fix that.

      Get some PB Blaster and shoot it into the hinges and let it sit overnight then try my technique again
