Excellent description of the process for creating high quality compost tea. Combined with your biochar I'm sure it makes a fantastic environment for your vegetables. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with others.
Thank-you my friend for taking the time to comment, makes my day! Yes, with the biochar I have happy soil and happy veggies. It is very easy so I hope others can benefit from my experience. Have a great day! Peace
Informative for sure (and I thank you for that) but you didn't need 22 minutes say it.
Step 1: 1/2 fill a 5 gallon bucket with plant material (any kind except diseased)
Step 2: cover with rain water and move it away from the house 'cause it will stink.
Step 3: Stir every so often.
Step 4: Strain it through a paint strainer after about 1-4 weeks.
Step 5: mix with 10-20 parts water to use it and wash your hands.
If I was a large channel I would offer you a job! You nailed it. I really should take note of making such outlines for future videos.
Thank-you my friend! Hope you have a great day!
The price of fertilizers is going through the roof! Great video!
Thank-you my friend, and yes the price and availability of many things are becoming a concern. Have a great day!
Why do some people say this tea does nothing - why are there two polar opposite view points?
I don't know my friend, it is simply composted material in water. They would need to claim compost does nothing, lol. May be they speak in the context of microbial life and if that is the case my tea is far less active than something fed sugar and aerated? I use this tea to charge my biochar, very effective.
Hope you have a great day!
THANKS, YO7 ANSWERED MY QUESTION IN THE VIDEO! I have a bucket that has been breaking down about 2 years. I wonder if it would still be beneficial to my plants??😊
I use the mature tea on flowering and fruiting plants. After your bucket has been sitting for more than a few weeks the nitrogen levels drop to nothing. This is perfect for plants you don't want growing more leaves but start them fruiting/flowering. Just make sure you are diluting 10 or even 20 to 1. Yes it is still beneficial in the right application. Great question my friend, sorry i was slow to answer. Hope you are having a great week!
👍
But that plant you are pulling up there isnt it cilantro, the same one you buy in d grocery store. Coz it grows wild in d grass but is use for cooking.
Thank-you for watching my friend! Not cilantro, maybe your seeing parsnip leaves I trimmed off? Have a great day!
Do you leave it outside covered or uncovered? Thanks!
I leave mine uncovered but out of the rain so it doesn't overflow. If you leave it uncovered you need to stir it up good fairly regular like once a day so flies and mosquitos don't breed. If insects are a problem just cover with a cloth rag. This will let it breathe but keep bugs out. Thanks for watching my friend, have a great week!
What else do you use those 5 gallon bags for?
Use to strain/mix old paint. Wash beeswax, use to extract honey from cappings. Fill with charcoal and submerge in compost tea to charge into Biochar. I also use them to hold fruit for wine/mead making, a 'brew bag'. Useful for my beekeeping and wine making, the used ones go to the garden, the paint ones go to garbage. Good question. Thank-you my friend, I'm sure there are other uses, this is what I do. Have a great day!
